  • can't wait to jump in a wingsuit, this summer i plan to go sky diving as much as i can, so one day i can try some base jumping in a wingsuit

  • i don't know whether to like the vid or dislike as I feel bad for the guy

  • @Shady8954 Don't feel bad for me.. I SURVIVED!!! ;0)

  • I dont even care if it dident go wrong.....that was amazing!

  • @rawrsexrawr Thank you but you're not really supposed to spin uncontrollably at all far less for as long as I did! :0)

  • How the hell did it go horribly wrong... Troll

  • @qazw127 Troll? Hmm.. that's a new one on me. The object of the flight was to fly straight and be stable in the air not spin like a top and plummet like a stone.

  • @keezo74 right, u had a problem, but it didn't go HORRIBLY wrong because otherwise they would've had to scrape u off the ground.

  • Watching these videos makes me want to try skydiving, but I'd need someone to push me out of the plane the first time!

  • @videogeek27 You'd be surprised how easy it is!! It's as easy as falling out a plane.

  • Dude, that took you far too long to get out of that spin. Didn't you learn the three steps to follow in such case? !) arch&relax if that does not work 2) grab your ankles and ball up - it you can't: 3) Pull! You better be hanging under a twisted main in high altitude than spinning down and get a twisted reserve in Cypres-altitude.

  • @freifallspoiler I agree with you on the amount of time in spin. I was trying all different combos of arch and relax but having never experienced it with the WS on the muscle mem wasn't there. I was still in good height when I finally worked it out but I flew too long as I wasn't aware how much I'd lost. I just got on with the rest of the jump as planned. It was my alti that alerted me to my height. The funny thing was my instructor wasn't nearly as pissed off with me as I was!

  • @keezo74 Yes, I know that. When I fu** up I'm also always more pissed than anyone else. (I hope! ;))

  • @freifallspoiler I think that's normal. If you're not bothered about your performance, safety and position in the air you're not only a danger to yourself but more importantly a danger to everyone else.

  • this video is amazins but too dangerous

  • @divonish It's not that dangerous. I've been jumping seriously for 7 years, have 240 jumps and not injured myself once. I've seen people turn ankles occasionally but I've never seen anyone hurt themselves seriously. I've been snowboarding for years too and have torn my Meniscus (knee cartilage) broken my clavicle and had several serious head knock I've even injured myself way more surfing than skydiving.

  • @keezo74

I have respect for you, but there is no way in hell you could ever get me to do something like this. Even for a billion dollars.

  • @DiversePersona For a billion dollars you can pay someone to do it for you.. ie MEEEE!!!

  • @keezo74 seriously???damn

  • Awsome vid! And thanks a mill for NOT putting some lamo rock/techno music on it!

  • @RonaldMoD lol.. no worries. That does seem to be the industry standard! I like that I can hear my instructor Darren whooping when I sort it out. :0) K.

  • im confused...what went wrong?

  • @matthewcameron7 If you scroll down I've explained it in detail below.

  • @matthewcameron7 His parachute what tangled for a few seconds. Fortunately, he recovered quickly.

  • FUCKKKINGG HELL that was so scary to watch

  • @doogiedog1234 It was fun to be inside, I assure you! ;0)

  • You took out the windsock? A while back a kid lost his entire leg because he snagged a windsock on landing at the Air Force Academy... :o

  • @MSGDet810 Yeah.. I guess I got close to the ground and thought I was safe and let me guard down a little. I'd had such a shake up that it felt good to be below the safe height and almost down. Just shows you, you have to be on your game at all times. Almost all the deaths in skydiving happen on or near the ground. K.

  • can you imagen an airplane passing thru lol

  • @margarita0422 Passing through what?

  • @keezo74 I DONT KNOW, the sky maybe

  • @margarita0422 I've seen guys jump out then race the plane back down.. search youtube for it.. it's really spectacular.

  • That isn't the curvature of the earth its the lens of the camera

  • @obhutara Yeah.. it's the fish eye lens on the GoPro camera we all use. It's got a great field of vision and has great resolution but it does distort the outer edges a little.

  • the view is unbelivable

  • @Anel69Anel It's amazing to see.. you're normally too busy concentrating on the job in hand so having the camera and getting to watch back without the nerves lets you appreciate the view more.

  • its always a pleasure watching all you people jump i live near lake Elsinore myself and hope to join all of you some day.

  • @steve9717 Woohoo!! A local?! Don't you get bummed with all the people coming through to go jump there? It's a lovely part of the world though.

  • That was scary. Great job recovering, or we might not be having this conversation. ;-)

  • @AgentScribe Thank you very much.. great to be here. ;0)

  • @keezo74 how is it? going down i mean! i plan on doing that someday, it's on my bucket list lol! Also, do you plan on doing that again and how much do the chutes, suits and dive cost? (i don't know anything thing about this so please feed my curiosity!)

  • @venomshadow94 You need to have at least 200 jumps to start wingsuit flying. You need your own parachute, helmet, altimeters and all the other bits and pieces (not cheap) You're probably looking at $5000 for all that.. and that's on the cheaper end. The good thing is the school lend you a wingsuit while you're learning as those start at about $1000. The jumps themselves are around $25 each if you have all your own kit or for a daily fee you can rent most of it.

  • @keezo74 I see, thanks man.

  • As soon as you looked out of the plane i knew where that was. I pass by that lake once or twice a year and always wanted to check out the jumping programs

  • @DahPurpleHippo Yeah! It's one of the most recognizable drop zones in the States.. you see that Lake in films and commercials and instantly know it's Elsinore.

  • @keezo74 When I get outa highschool I plan on getting my 200 jumps and wingsuit training. Or I might go into the air force. Either way I plan on spending my life flying.

  • @DahPurpleHippo Sweet.. it is awesome. Just be careful! lol

  • What state did you jump in, it looked like Arizona....

  • @unownguardian1 No, it's Lake Elsinore, Ca. Great DZ!

  • Congrats bro. Awsome job on pullin out of what looked like..... U know. Just how did U end up in a flat spin anyhew? I'm thinking that if U R upright, wouldn't U B moving forward? i'm sure it's a pretty good clip that U R moving at. would u ever try skimming the water like they do with shutes? Keep the vids rollin buddy, be safe.

  • @BeRegal455 The truth is I wasn't looking at the prop as I left the plane as I was told to do. I also have a really bad habit of looking at the ground and those two things combined sent me off balance in the air and as I struggled to correct it, it only made it worse. Lesson learned! ;0)

  • Actually, totally impressed you managed to stabilize yourself after that...and with a lot of altitude left. Wonder what the instructor was thinking?

  • @ainulindale1227 My instructor at Elsinore is Darren.. you can hear him whooping when I finally get it straightened out and he was way calmer that I was when we got down. He said he wasn't worried as I had the best teacher but was slightly annoyed that I didn't go into the stabilization drill he'd drilled into me!!

  • Dang dude. i'm glad to hear you walked away

  • @The10secondslater Thanks 10sec, once I was out of the spin it was cool but I must admit.. it was a bit hairy there for a while!! :0)

  • Anyone else think that the guy spiraling like a maniac in the beginning was the problem?

  • @nantucketfish11 LOL!! That is the funniest comment so far.. nice one nantucketfish! Yes, I heartily agree with you that the spinning like a maniac was one of the more problematic aspects of the jump. :0) I then manged to nearly hit someone when I landed and also took out one of the windsocks too! It was a horror jump all round to be honest. I have a really clean record too!! No cut aways and no injuries! I guess you have to be on your guard at all times!

  • @nantucketfish11

    Yes, lmfao!

  • @nantucketfish11

    It wasnt???

  • Nice job recovering.

  • @jezer7777 Thanks.. deploying in that mess would have almost certainly lead to a cut away.

  • Glad you are ok, dude. Where was this shot?

  • @krychamin This is out at Skydive Elsinore.. they have one of the best Wingsuit schools in the US. Their program's really good for anyone wanting to get into the sport. You do need 200 jumps and meet a bunch of equipment requirements but they provide the wingsuit and expert instruction.

  • How high up was this?

  • @RileyGFX We normally jump from about 12,500ft. I'm not sure of the exact exit height as we are too busy preparing at the time but 12,500 is average.

  • ill. vision. hahah

  • wow thanks guys im new so i READ everything

  • @Trev594 Excellent.. it's very good for you. ;0) Did you see the footage of Jeb Corliss hitting the rock while wingsuit flying?

  • world record for spinning in air? lulz :D

  • @JrHatch34 If there is such a discipline and I'd meant to to do that.. I'd be a winner!! lol

  • @JrHatch34 olooololollololollololo

  • *cues "The flight of the Starfish*

  • @eaterofclams Flight of the injured bumblebee!! lol

  • That akward moment when you look out on the plane and see rust spots, then you know its time to jump!

  • @MrNovacain1 I tell you what though.. there's no better feeling than being in a rickety old plane WITH a parachute on and knowing that you're actually WAAAAY more comfortable out the door than in!! ;0)

  • @keezo74 Or that moment that you are about to exit a C-182 and realize the pilot is wearing a parachute as well.

  • what's it like up there?

  • @pussylanious It's hard to be objective as you are concentrating so hard on what you have to do, what you have to remember. Between that and trying to suppress the fear it's one long exercise in staying calm. But when it's stable and you have a moment to take it all in... it's breathtaking.

  • @keezo74 it looks brilliant. what type of experience do you have to start doing this?

  • @pussylanious You need 200 solo skydives, your own parachute and all the accessory equipment. Once you have that you can just buy or rent a wingsuit and try it but it's highly advised and on some drop zones compulsory to complete a first flight course but I'd definitely recommend taking a bunch of lessons. I signed up for five instructed flights and as many observed training ones as I need and I'll probably take another five after that.

  • what was wrong here? no horrible accident

  • @Knom14 Thanks for your deep concern. ;0)

According to my instructor it was the worst wingsuit jump he'd seen without injury. Read my description below. I was in an uncontrollable spin for 26 seconds, all but blacked out and lost 5000ft in height. I only remembered to pull when my audible started screaming at me... 3000ft below my scheduled deployment height. I'm assuming you've never jumped?

  • Gald you landed allright

  • I'm sorry.. What went wrong? :S

  • @GulBanan4U Hi there. Thanks for the comment. It's cool.. I got down safely. ;0) See the two part description below for the low down on what happened.

  • wingsuit freestyle :)

  • @monkey298 Lol.. that style aint free mate.. it was almost very costly!

  • I'm glad you were ok. Please be careful.

  • you are still a badass in my eyes sir...well done and you have bigger balls than I..i thought you were going to run into the other wingsuiter the entire time!!

  • (part two) and I need to be very careful of my position again now until I learn how to manage the suit. The big difference between normal skydiving and wingsuit flying is the slightest input creates a very quick reaction so you have to be very gentle. When I inverted I stuck a hand out then couldn't find a stable position due to the spin. We've gone over both my body position and my stabilization procedure and I'm very keen to get my next jump under my wing.. so to speak. ;0)

  • Hey man. Thanks for your comment. You're right.. I did most things right and was unfortunate things went awry but I wasn't completely blameless. My coach Darren and I went over the footage in fine detail and we ascertained that my fundamental flaw was my head. The first thing they teach you is look at the prop. If I'd had my head up and exaggerated the position as instructed I wouldn't have inverted as fast. Looking at the ground was always my undoing when I first started skydiving.

  • @keezo74 Well I guess you don't look at the ground anymore !! Really scary video... Have you achieved to jump again after such a crazy experience ?

  • @TheLexiflex Not yet but I do have more lessons to take so will be getting back into it later this month.

  • I don't really understand what you did wrong. Your exit looked OK. You didn't open your suit too early and almost hit the tail like I see so many others do. You opened your arms and legs at the same time and went into a flat spin, which really screwed you up (Balance, altitude awareness, etc). How can this be avoided? As a man with skydive experience who really wants to get into wing-suit flying, I would really appreciate a reply. Thanks.

  • You're nuts Kieron! I gotta try this once in my life.
