This is absolutely phenemonal :o even non veg's love it.. I was curious though, how healthy is it? Its deep fried and tofu's absorbent, but it still taste like a light dish to me. This is definitely one of my staple foods now though, thanks :3
nice recipe. this looks like it'd be delicious in a stir fry with some rice noodles, or at the very least spooned on top of some jasmine rice (with fresh veg of course).
I'm not a vegan, but this is a great recipe (yes us meat eaters will eat vegan dishes too - haha!) I added seasame seeds to the potato starch and some salt - improved it a lot. Still - thanks for the recipe. Very easy to follow.
thanks for the great video recipes girl. and btw, ive been vegan for 9.5 very healthy years and never crave any animal products, and i love eating, big time, if anything i could do with shifting a stone or two, too many pastries hehehe

Seriously folks, vegans are mentally disordered. I know as I live in San Francisco and so many liberals think they are not human for a while and try and control their god given appetite. Never have I met a vegan that lasted more than two years and then they are big beef eaters again. Crazy behavior.
What a moron...Why don't you go and comment on a gruesome animal slaughter video, Personally all my friends are serious vegan or vegetarians and I don't see them turning back to carnivores.
Meat eating will be illegal in the future.
Carnivores are Dinosaurs and they will be extinct. The sooner the better.
I understand that your a Vegaterian but what is the point of telling people to go watch an Animal Slaughter video? Meat Eating being Illegal in the future? Seriously I dont see what your trying to point out here, Wether you eat it or not people are still going to be selling Meat, Just because we eat it does not mean We love to see the animals die. Your quite Arrogant.
so...I love you...I've been Vegan for about 6 months..and it just gets so much more exciting with all the cooking( hehe and eating) that I've been doing.love your shows!!
i think i will try this; the first time i tried tofu i just cooked it on a grill and ate it with hot sauce. i think if i make a recipe with tofu i might like it better. thanks for the recipe!
@RobJahLuv fair enough my friend. we all need a bit of life in our diet. to each our own.
if you are on a diet, amazing. if, not, a bit of b12 will do you and everyone well. AND, I make vegan kimichi. please read the other comments to see why i said it was sad.
The dish looks wonderful.. but you never mention how much water, mirin, soy sauce, sugar, or nori to make the sauce...even though the dishes are listed on your website. you should still say the amount on your show. Other than that good job.
I only gave this one 3 stars because, as the ingredient was identified, the ammount wasn't given. Also, we're told to cook till golden brown, but the finished pieces look very white.
I hope you don't mind the critism, because I really do appreciate Everyday Dish.
All of the recipes can be found at everydaydish (dot) tv
Although the tofu may look white on the film, you want to cook it until it's puffed and light golden. Sometimes the lighting on the set plays with the colors.
Tofu is the type of food that itself does not have flavour but it will soak up whatever it is cooked with.
We have so many different types of Tofu dishes in China and they are all absolutely amazing! Not the local Chinese takeaway type,i mean proper Chinese...the healthy and tasty ones....hehe....
but tofu is nasta

How do the results differ when using cornstarch vs potato starch?
Vivalarachie 1 year ago
@Vivalarachie The potato starch makes a more tender crisp coating, if that makes any sense. I think it's much better, personally!

Corn flour works much much better than potato flour.

I've done it with cornstarch too, but don't like it as well as the potato flour.

You're actually eating it with chopsticks. That's pretty cute. 5 stars.

how to prevent my toufu from breaking up before I cut them or fry them???
sesame297 2 years ago
Oh, there are different types of tofu. You would want to buy the firm kind for frying. The firm ones shouldn't break easily.
GetDamage 2 years ago
grated ginger would definitely zest up the 'agedashi-dufu'.

Yes Animal Slaughter will be illegal,
We can start with Halal/Kosher which is very cruel, primitive and barbaric.
But people are ignorant about the cruelty.
I'll send you a link. Pls give your opinion on this.
We must let people know how animals suffer to provide food for humans.
fjt108 2 years ago
Ha. Quite ignorant. I've met a an older man who has been vegan for 65 years. My best friends have been vegan for over 4 years.

If you're buying any kind of breadcrumb, I'm pretty sure you'd be checking whether or not it's actually vegan.
