The marbels' place is athens, simply because they came to england illegally....I think greece deserves its history, whatever it is,big or small.....Comparing greek with english culture has nothing to say......But what dissapoints me is that money nowadays is more important than culture?? Would england struggle so desperately try to keep the marbles if they didn's cost a simple euro?? I guess no....But still, there is no reason to blame people for what governments decide

Because of the rain Kariatides had been taken away to the new Museum of Acropolis. We can't make into pieces the whole Parthenon and take him also away....(Elgin liked very much this kind of stuff and hurmed the temple very bad) Greece spends a great budjet every year for the Acropolis restoration....(By the way...your goverment said that Greece can't take back the marbles cause we don't have a proper museum...now Britain has not any excuses to keep them)

Actually, I'm a big fan of ancient Greek culture, especially Homer, Aristotle and Jason and the Argonauts.

But it's impossible to properly compare it to British culture as yours is ancient and ours is modern; 2 different things.

I don't think displaying artifacts from other cultures is stealing. I wouldn't mind seeing the marbles united, even if its in that new Athens museum. It's just sad that so many Greeks are belittling the British people and culture to make their points here.

I would agree with you that they should be returned. However, i question how much you know about the "bastard lord". elgin removed the marbles at a time when the parthenon was disintegrating before his eyes due to neglect and virtually bankrupt himself in bringing them to the UK.

Also how can you bring the British public into this?? in 1998:

Thirdly, the British Museum is located in London, where many people visit every year. Athens and Greece on the whole is visited by many people every year too.
