amazing place!!!!!!!!!!!!! spent some time there in 99' awsome sound !! loved the good and bad angel hanging from the celing ...i wonder where they went lol......probbly the sickest nyc club i been too until i found exit around the same year....the dancers,the snow machines,disco ball that droped just over the dance floor just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would love to find some video of that
That is terrible. I have worked in clubs all over the world. That place was a mecca. I wish South Florida had anything close to that. I can still remember taking a bartender friend of mine from FL to the Tunnel. I warned her about the bathroom having a bar in it, being unisex, and all the other going ons. She still freaked when she saw it.
The 12th Ave end of the building was the Night club end of the building, The side your on on 11th was mostly empty when it was tunnel. The dance floor and main bar, Were on the 12th ave end... And then entrance was on corner of 12th and 27th, and The mid kurfew door was on 27th St.
11th ave never had an entrance.
That side of the building was a storage unit, and was not used for the night club.
Fuck You Rudy Guiliani, you are the reason I moved out of New York, and ultimately the USA. If Tunnel was still open I would still be in New York... ASSHOLE!!!
I DJed at the Tunnel, good times. One of the best parties of all time. RG Destroyed NYC.
I would walk past the hookers on the way to Penn station but never got one looked at one fuckin down that one street they all worked between like a tennis court or hand ball court... Now the TUnnel for me..you didnt need a hooker because of all the girls already in that place ! ! !for me it was mostly girls from europe giving you attention action and ass or whatever much easier than I ever got good chicks in my life..
that is so cool to see it in the light. man i used to love this place and partied there till the wee hrs in the morn... then id leave there in the morn sometime and get a hooker and party more. lol

@ianjohn05 Ditto on Guiliani. I used to work there on the weekends in 96'. I slipped out during the big bust that summer...
I left the US in the summer of 97', it was perfect timing (that's when a lot of the new laws went into effect).
NYC used to be the City that never Sleeps, but as I tell people, Guiliani turned off the light switch and it will never be the same...

@johnnyingermany
Couldn't have said it better myself. People blame Bloomberg. I'm like it was dead before he even got in.
