AGREED!!! Ryan Gosling & Drive blew me away this year, I loved it. Kirsten Dunst in Melancholia!!! Amazing. Rooney Mara did a fabulous job. Meryl Streep is amazing too but the Iron Lady wasn't so.....sorry.

@kaitlin146 I agree, the writing wasn't good enough for Meryl Streep to get an Oscar. She's amazing in it, but the material she was given to work with is so-so.

This guy is a boss. How did Meryl Streep win a golden globe for the iron lady, a movie which maybe a couple thousand Americans saw? It's an American award show!! The movie and it's actors should be under the foreign films category!! Rooney Mara acted better than her in EVERY way imaginable! If Rooney doesn't win an Oscar I will kill someone. She was unarguable the BEST actress or actor this year BY FAR!!

Thank you Peter Travers!! I usually get extremely excited around the oscars each year because it's a great way to see what movies are worth watching out there. This year i don't find this to be true at all, of all the movies i've seen this year what believe to be the best movies and the best acting are largely left out from the nominations. Although it may not deserve an oscar i was hoping to see 'The Guard' with at least one nomination, it was my favorite movie to watch this year.
