Help. I have the Finepix S1500 and i only got a camera to do the Split / Pull focus effect. Is this camera able to do this because i cant figure out how to do it .
@DynasticProductionz you cannot do a split and pull focus effect on this camera... you have to remember that mostly only higer end camcorders can do that... this is only a picture camera, with the "extra" option of video added in
@bennyglaze thanks. i'm buying one for £86. would you say its a bargain. i'm looking to use it as a camera to boost my photography skills and help me become a better photographer would you say i'm making a good choice buying this camera
@BuzzEnWell Nope we are not missing anything, i am guessing they forgot to surround the mic inside the body of the camera to dampen the vibrations from the auto focus, as for the zoom sound you can switch in the setting the zoom type to digital instead of optical if you dont mind loosing a little quality at full zoom extend, Any other questions please ask
@TimeFoVideoz Yes it will work in Windows Movie Maker, as for batteries it takes 4x AA and on lithium it will last for DAYS of constant use... guessing like 1500+ pictures with flash on and going through menus and what not, with regular alkaline probably around 600 pictures and some menu browsing
@bennyglaze Awesome! I'm deffintally considering this camera. Two more question, I ride horse, I do barrel racing and I like to film my runs. Do you know if the video part of this camera will be able to focus well on my horse? And, does it focus well on close up objects? Thank''s so much!
@sk8101698 Ye, roughly. it all depends on how much movement is on the video... and how much color there is. Like if you filming in a zoo or public gardens or something like that the video will have a much higher mb per second then say if you wer filming while you were on a boat out in the water or filming the ocean from a beach since there will be very little color change
@sk8101698 it can can film for 44 minutes or until the video file size reaches 2 GBs which ever comes first... personally i thinks that is much more then long enough
@bennyglaze Ok, could you send me short 5 seconds original movie from this camera on my e-mail, i would like to chek if my montage software is capable of using it, i know it is big hassle, but i would be really thenkful
Awesome quality. I try to record video, but the camera constantly makes the noises heard at 1:00 - end. It just doesn't want to focus. Whats the problem?
Sadly, you cant do anything, well actually you can do something, go into the settings and change the zooming from optical to digital, that will get rid of the noise :)
i have just been given a finepix s1500 camera and have only tried out the video functions a little. Is the focusing noise loud when filming usually or is this just when your in a quiet place? Does it always make that noise or is it a particular setting I'm using?
the focusing noise isnt too bad while in nosier areas, like a crowd of people like say at a convention you would barely be able to hear it, but the zoom noise on the other hand as you could see from that video you can hear in the nosiest of areas(the river)
nope thats actually the noise of the lens focusing and adjusting the size of lens to adjust the brightness, how ever if you keep it still and try not to change the lighting in the viewable area it will cut down on the noise
where are you thinking this was taken at.....my best bet is you probably haven't, its hidden on private property about 3/4 of a km from all main roads, but you never know...
lol, where are you thinking this is? if you were there you would remember exactly because the place is pretty interesting, tons more cool thing and a few water falls
i upconverted it so you can see in the highest quality what the raw 640x480 video looks like. youtube tends to degrade the quality in the lower formats
I'm still learning about this camera but it does take excellent photos. The video works fine if it's stationary but if you're zooming the audio is pretty awful (as you can tell). Still, it's considered one of the best cameras for giving you an "almost" DSLR quality camera at an affordable price (under $200).
yes the motor sound is hideous....but like you said nice camera and that it is, its not a video camera.... it takes great pics and has tons of settings thou
Hi friend, could you send me the link to your website? i wanted to have a look at the foto quality as I am also contemplating to buy this camera :-)...thanx in advance
hi all i have just orderd one of these and waiting for it deliverd i just wanted to add it is a camara if video is your want then im sure a video camara would be better for you the video option is just a bonus to as everyone says a very good still camara
Ben, thanks for the vid. I see the cam has optical zoom for video. How much zoom does it have? 4x? Also, Im thinking of buying whether this camera (165 shipped from newegg) or buy the Nikon L100 (219 shipped from newegg). I like the Nikon quality on their products, but I have read that image quality is subpar for a camera of this pricetag, and doesnt have manual options, something that the fuji has.
this is one of the best cameras fujifilm has made. for 165 i would say buy it, it has every feature that is user-tweakable on it, you just have to take a day or two and fool with every setting on the camera, the camera is great, as for the video it is not the best, there is an annoying motor noise when zooming but that is the only problem, It is 12x zoom also and on 10.0MP you can get good once in life time shots at 39.6x zoom if you use the digital zoom. any other questions fell free to ask :)
I recently bought the Fujifilm S1000fd but I sold it to my sister, she need to take some basic photograpic course on the college. When I used the s1000fd I was very please with the build quality and the features, but I just dont know, Im a die hard of Nikon products (binoculars, rangefinders) but the L100 is 52 dollars expensive, and some reviews put it somewhere behind the other bridges on the market.
Just got mine from Dell. Actually 179.00. But it was on sale for the same on Amazon. A couple of people had it for 169.00 on ebay. But...I have an account with Dell ;-)
its pretty good, it just makes it really loud on the computer but no distortion, if it is too loud on the computer try making the volume 75%-50% in a editor
also, what kind of sd card are you using? my head is spinning even looking at the compatibility list... it would be great if you could enlighten me, thanks!
for the sd cards, any will work, dont worry about the list, personally i am using standard, 4gb SDHC card, works great, any other questions feel free to ask and subscribe to my channel so you dont forget about my user.
hey, i am currently in australia on vacation. i have put in energizer e squared lithium batteries and they have not died yet, i have taken about 400 pictures and lots of video, checking the photos on the camera and all the menu stuff and they have not died yet, for lithium(good18$ or so), im guessing around 1000-1200 photos , with alkaline probably around 400. hope this helps
oh to answer the question about the funny noise that the camera makes, it is the auto focus thing not the image stabilization, it is normal, it is probably because the camera was constructed with the microphone attached directly to the plastic housing, normally in a video camera the the microphone would be attached to vibration dampers to rid the auto focus and zoom noise.
i used a program called power producer by cyberlink, when i save it i save it as a mpeg-2 720p, i can make a tutorial on it if you want me to, just send me a message.

I'm saving up for this camera seeing how I am a photographer/filmer. I was wondering is the video 320x240?
YeahRightWalk 2 years ago
640x480 30p
bennyglaze 2 years ago
But youtube screens are 320x240 right? so wouldn't 640x480 be too big or would it be resized to fit?
YeahRightWalk 2 years ago
you can choose what size the window is... mine is normally the 720p size, use the little l shaped arrow to make the youtube video windows bigger
bennyglaze 2 years ago
Is it making progressive movies (PAL) or interlanced movies? Is it saving movies as AVI?
INeedToLiveLonger 2 years ago
It is shot at 30 frames per second in NSTC so the actual output would be 30p, and yes it saves the files as .AVI
