Truthfully the caddy looks better from the outside, and the engine sounds awesome (I've been in a friends) but after going for a test drive in the e63, I would half to agree with the video. Not only does it have immense speed and power (yes I know less than the caddy), but it also best serves its function as a sedan, but for an additional 20,000 I would certainly hope so. Although I do think the caddy would look way cooler going down the road...
I've got the Wagon V...i could have bought the AMG.. but every orthodontist and commodities trader has one... 20K fewer dollars will buy a LOT of torque from Hennessy, Katech, Mallet or Lingenfelter... MB makes a FINE taxi and rental car.. but that is about it.

There is such a sense of high quality in and mercedes. The engine is also a lot better aswell. Let me remind you that they both have the same sized engines. But in order for the cadillac to create the same amount of power as mercedes engine they had to add on a supercharger. This just shows the lack in power of cadilacs.
If you like cheap plastic junk that goes really really fast then CTS-v is your car. If you want quality and don't like grade three students designing your interior then Benz all the way!

@3O2MuStAnG Praised for it's high quality of materials... Compared to previous Caddys which were made from expanding foam and cheap vinyl for a dashboard and stick on woodgrain over plastic. And as for fastest 4 door on the nürburgring, the Porsche Panamera turbo S took that title. Check it out!

@stevomwa1 The new E63AMG is twin turbo and still it's not faster than the CTSV. Cadillac also comes with a standard 5yr/100K mile warranty (double that of mercedes) .

american cars have shit engineering. the benz is just as fast without a super charger AND LESS HP, that is just some sad shit, and whats more sad is both these cars get shit on the slowest GTR, which has a 0-60 of 3.6 , the 2012 has a 0-60 of 2.9, and the AMS Alpha 9 2009 has a 0-60 of 2.6. why the fuck would i was my money on an unreliable american plastic piece of shit. american cars are garbage, why else would they be dirt cheap? an evo with a 2.0T is almost as fast as both these cars SMH

Compared with the other cars you mentioned, with small-displacements and turbocharged to within an inch of their lives, I guarantee the V8 will last longer under hard driving. Did anyone notice that the trap speed for the Benz was nearly 5 mph slower than the caddy? That means that the ctsv would have kept pulling away from the Benz all the way to 190 mph. So much for German engineering...
@AMG722STIRLINGMOSS No I say it's the worst because: It never offers manuals. Our SLK AMG had a hardtop convertible and it leaked in the rain. Our Mercedes had multiple engine problems. The majority of them are ugly as hell. Their transmissions suck, and no the SLS doesn't count because it has ferrari's california transmission. Their traction controls are too brutal to have any fun. They're over priced. and the list could go on and on.

That's an engineering win!! 6.2 vs 6.2 Supercharged, plus less horsepower and it can't overcome the Merc? What will happen when they introduce the new 5.5 twin turbo charged motor? I love the CTS-V, but I lost all interest when I drove my aunts standard version... I've always read reviews about cheap plastics, but I didn't believe the difference it made until I jumped out of my 1999 Mercedes and into my aunts 2010 CTS. You easily see where brands save money when you drive a premium brand car.
@Killzone2freak1028. Cadillac did very well. That is a good car for the price point. Engines are pretty even, but it's balance and distribution of weight that tell the story. It was a good step in the right direction and we should not rest on previous efforts. We can close the gap to the Germans and Japanese if we focus.

@Tinashindi you think the caddy isn't thought out? The car was developed to have one of the best rides in its class. The people who pay 20 grand only consider the tag. The ride was called exellent by motor trend, car and driver and Kelly blue book. Not to mention the reliability of the lsa is one of the best considering Cadillac has a perfect rating with it. If u think performance is all it can do then you are mistaken. The caddy may have an interior gain on the caddy but that's about it.
Both are awesome and I wouldn't mind owning both but the current CTS-V has been on the market for a while with minimal updates etc and it's still doing extremely well.I don't know why a lot of people say "American" the CTS-V was design and engineered in Germany. That's the reason why it handles so well! I'm waiting for GM to update the interior or give it a minor refresh until the next gen CTS comes around. Again both are awesome rides.

Funny how you all say the BMW, Benz, and Audi all are sophisicated. While that may be true, you can dump the 20,000 USD you saved on the Caddy. Merc, Audi and BMW never think of that. I've owned a 2009 E Class and the car was beautiful. Once i had 60k miles on it, everything changed. I had to change all 3 timing chains and tensioners which cost me alittle over 2 grand. The alternator and battery went out also. The battery alone was 800 bucks. I got rid of that car and bought myself a 06 sts4. The car has everything the Mercedes has for alot cheaper.

@TheCls63 MB uses tons of plastics, the recliner buttons up to the 11' S class are plastic, the dash board buttons are plastic, the casing around the rear view mirror is plastic , I don't know about the wood, but the ash tray is plastic, the vents are plastic, steering wheel buttons are plastic, seat belt part is plastic...it doesn't mean shit though, it still a Benz and it's one of the best luxury cars period.

Compared with the other cars you mentioned, with small-displacements and turbocharged to within an inch of their lives, I guarantee the V8 will last longer under hard driving. I bet know one even knows, they put over 528,000 TORTUREOUS test miles on the E63 before sending it to the USA. And the traction control systems in the Mercedes makes it easy to drive in the snow, the cadillac would behave like any other RWD car,causing a wreck.

If the AMG were so proud of their product why only 50,000 miles of warranty, I'll tell you why! The majority of them are ugly as hell. Their transmissions suck, and no the SLS doesn't count because it has ferrari's california transmission. Their traction controls are too brutal to have any fun. They're over priced. and the list could go on and on.

That's an engineering win!! 6.2 vs 6.2 Supercharged, plus less horsepower and it can't overcome the Merc? What will happen when they introduce the new 5.5 twin turbo charged motor? I love the CTS-V, but I lost all interest when I drove my aunts standard version... I've always read reviews about cheap plastics, but I didn't believe the difference it made until I jumped out of my 1999 Mercedes and into my aunts 2010 CTS. You easily see where brands save money when you drive a premium brand car.

It was a good step in the right direction and we should not rest on previous efforts. We can close the gap to the Germans and Japanese if we focus.

The ride was called exellent by motor trend, car and driver and Kelly blue book. Not to mention the reliability of the lsa is one of the best considering Cadillac has a perfect rating with it. If u think performance is all it can do then you are mistaken. The caddy may have an interior gain on the caddy but that's about it.

Both are awesome and I wouldn't mind owning both but the current CTS-V has been on the market for a while with minimal updates etc and it's still doing extremely well.I don't know why a lot of people say "American" the CTS-V was design and engineered in Germany. That's the reason why it handles so well! I'm waiting for GM to update the interior or give it a minor refresh until the next gen CTS comes around. Again both are awesome rides.

I've owned a 2009 E Class and the car was beautiful. Once i had 60k miles on it, everything changed. I had to change all 3 timing chains and tensioners which cost me alittle over 2 grand. The alternator and battery went out also. The battery alone was 800 bucks. I got rid of that car and bought myself a 06 sts4. The car has everything the Mercedes has for alot cheaper.

@TheCls63 MB uses tons of plastics, the recliner buttons up to the 11' S class are plastic, the dash board buttons are plastic, the casing around the rear view mirror is plastic , I don't know about the wood, but the ash tray is plastic, the vents are plastic, steering wheel buttons are plastic, seat belt part is plastic...it doesn't mean shit though, it still a Benz and it's one of the best luxury cars period.
