Which model of the eee pc are you running that on? I've heard of issues with the video and audio on some models, but yours looked like it was performing just fine.
Nope, no montly charge. Just the initial cost of the "box" which is like 99$ or less now.
Basically you hook it up to ur cable at home. Then you download the application for ur laptop or pc, put in the details, and youll be able to controll ur calbe and dvr etc from that app. What it means by one user is only one person can watch the sling at a time. Also, if someone is watching that same cable connection at home on the same tv youve hooked the sling.....
so if u change the channel on that tv, itll change on ur sling app, and vice versa. Better to hook it up to a tv that isnt watched or used that much if you can to avoid conflicts. Still, amazing app.
oh thats cool when i get a job this summer this is what im saving up for and a sling box. how to you like your sling box? which 1 do you have pro, solo?
Not exactly sure, im pretty sure its just the normal one. My bro has it hooked up in the US (i live abroad) so it makes it great to watch all his channels, anywhere. And with the eee being so compact its nice as a "personal wireless tv anywhere"
Speeds are great, options are complete, overall worth much more than they charge (i believe the sling is only 99$ or less now)
Comes with linux installed, but you can install xp if you want. Im using xp sp3 on mine. (asus allows you to install xp as an option, as shown in its intructions guide)
People have installed all sorts of other os's aswell, incl mac os x, ubuntu, and vista.

So is there a monthly charge for SlingBox? If not, then I'd totally consider buying it.
I'm not quite sure how it works though...
I read on wikipedia that only one user at a time could use it or something? Could you please clarify?
Thanks.
