OMG!!! I hired a dog walker a year ago b/c my weiner was getting a bit chunky. Now he has this ritual when he comes back from those walks by the river, and I named them the "Wiggles". It's the same! Also, he does the "Diggles", where he puts his head to the side, and claws the carpet like a nut when he's happy. I can't believe I found a video w/the same name as my pet nickname! I love it!!! Aren't Dachshunds the best?!?

@yamnjam - I can actually picture one of your babies doing that. They're incredibly loyal dogs and I notice that a lot of people are great fans of them (for a reason.) This one was particularly plump (very cute!) and obviously loves to play. lol

The wiggles!!! I love when my dachshund does them! He ONLY does them after coming back from an hour w/the dog-walker, he is so happy. It reminds me of that commercial w/the Puli (Mopsy), who the lady uses instead of a mop. She says, "OK, do the wiggles...". So cute. Dachshunds are the best. Once you've had one, you'll never be w/o one. They're irreplacable. And yes, very snuggly. Dachshunds: the original Snuggies.

@XxWILDANDRANBOMxX You're misinformed. Maybe you've seen too many "mini" dachshunds There are different standards. I live by Baylor University. I've seen those purse sized dogs. Adorable. But a real, German badger hound is supposed to be meaty enough to take on badgers, foxes, and wild boar. I've asked 2 vets about my King Dachshund, thx 2 all the Baylor remarks. Answer: NO! Perfect weight. Not all dachshunds fit in a purse! Unless you're a vet, don't judge. So rude. All dachshunds are perfect.

im thinking of getting a dachshund int he summer of 2011 or even befor that and im juts wondering if someone can give me some tips on training them and things that i should just know. and those 2 r sooo cute!

@xoxostephanie101 It depends on the dachshund, but mine was fairly intelligent, but also strong-willed and stubborn. The breed has a few health issues you should consider. They are especially prone to back problems and plaque build-up on their teeth, and can get overweight. I think they're wonderful dogs though; very fun to play with and they love to snuggle (especially in a warm bed, under the covers). Definitely do your own research before getting a dog. Adopt if you can! :)

@xoxostephanie101 train them early. they are very independant and much harder to train when they reach adult age. Train them not to bark or at least minimize barking by socializing them early and having company over frequenlty so they get used to it. they are notorious beggers and will ber for your food so don't feed them epsecially beef and animal fats it can give them pancreaitis. I would watch the dogs 101 espisode on animal planet on dachsunds.

@xoxostephanie101 well , they are amazing dogs, very smart, good hunters and evil with birds, males can get a little bit violent when they are old, females are normally very nice with people, they are very active and perfect for kids! i have a couple and they really love each other!

My Dad's dog Zeus does that to 'soften' his food. How that helps is beyond me, but he'll do it for hours just on one peice.

omg one of my dachshunds look EXACTLY like this one... Her name is Mya, she's our chubby baby haha. and she does the same thing... she'll wiggle around on top of her toys. and she has that same loud bark.
