  • What a beautiful piece of music. First heard it on Classic FM it deserves to be heard far more often. Lovely melody. I keep coming back to it.

  • Excellent! Truly beautiful music that deserves to be heard.

  • 20 Feb 2011 Heard this on class FM on way to St Andrews to visit my Dad. My daughter and I were trying to guess who it was by. It just seemed to fit the place so we were not surprised to hear it was by a Scottish composer.

  • Wonderful music. I heard a snip of this on Classic FM this morning and delighted to have found it on You Tube.

  • Do you know where I can find more examples of unknown Scots composers, like hamish McCunn and Mckenzie?.I am heartily sick of all the anglo centred output of the EnglishBC

  • @megmerilees ... Hamish MacCunn's overture "The Land of the Mountain and the Flood" is on YouTube, as well as Sir Alexander Campbell Mackenzie's complete Violin Concerto, and his Scottish Concerto for Piano & Orchestra. Also, Sir John Blackwood McEwen's "Solway" Symphony is on YouTube also. I'm sure you have heard the famous "Scottish Fantasy" by German composer Max Bruch, in which several Scottish folk tunes are reportedly used. A beautiful homage to Scottish traditional music.
