We had a girl in our Social Work department who didn't get into graduate school because of some very naughty pictures of her at a party doing body shots!
What if we just deactivate our current accounts just before starting the application process and create a new one then? That's the only other option that seems viable to me since I don't want to take any chances with my current account.

No one posts that. I think it would be acceptable to just not post stupid things like confessions of underage drinking, confessions of smoking (tobacco/weed), confessions of sex, etc.
@kmgentil Sanitize it. If you're going to use Facebook, have your picture taken with a dog instead of a beer can. You get the idea. And good luck in your collegeg search.
