  • *Just subbed* ..

  • Sounds like that youtuber's family member who responded negatively to her hair are still under the "Willie Lynch" indoctrination!!

  • i love how you refer to youtubers as brothers and sisters and youtube family. that's super cool :-)

  • God made all black woman hair nappy and curly. black woman with straight hair loo k weird. But I must admit black woman look good with short hair. and i don't mean bald.

  • I love your earrings!!!! :)

  • this was a really good video!..My co-workers loved my hair, but I got the side eye from my mom and my daughters. It took some time for my husband to get used to it, but he never tripped about it and even gave me compliments..I'm newly natural its only been a month, but I'm loving it...

  • @calculatefees you go girl!!!

  • I thought that was really nice of you to take the time out of your day to make this video by the way I love your style. I just started wearing my real hair its people like you that remains me I'm beautiful inside and out

  • So sorry my previous post was actually directed for the original video of ur response video...u may delete it if u want thanx :^)

  • @BabyLoloify lol no, I know it wasn't directed at the video <3

  • Really? Deodorant and Relaxers?....that's the best comparisons you could come up with...Seriously? Though there maybe harsh chemicals in everything we use for body, that doesn't mean we're just going to stop using them, down to the very food we eat there's altercations in everything, should we then stop eating food? Relaxers isn't for everyone either, myself being a prime example I just could not maintain my so called str8 hair as well as I could my natural hair, yeah sounds crazy but its true.

  • if God made you natural, why are you wearing makeup? I've been natural since before it became cool and I did receive all the negativity about being natural and locked. But we all have rights and preferences and there is no right or wrong in how we choose to appear if it's not breaking the law or hurting anyone else physically or emotionally.

Whoever is feeling ugly coz someone doesn't like their natural hair needs a self esteem lesson not a lesson in maintaining napptural hair.

  • U LUK BEAUTIFUL

  • lol i wen i first went natural everybody said my eyes looked to big my nose and they thought i was gay. and feel for years we as black ppl have been tryin to be excepted by society which in my mind being white is acceptable but now n days white ppl are not the issue anymore. our own ppl us down our own ppl cannot accept us as natural and if it wasnt for youtube i wouldnt had been prepared for all the negativity. my sefl-esteem is actually higher than it was when i was relaxed i feel stronger.

  • Very good response!!!

  • AMEN!! I LOVE your videos!! You always look so chic...and you have spoken a mouthful...in the end, it is ALL about loving yourself...and taking care of yourself. I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE my natural hair...one month since the big chop and I am NEVER touching the creamy crack again!

  • @braelynnblue LOL you go GIRL!!! and thank you :)

  • I mean, sorry fellow african american ladies you will NEVERRRRRR have bone str8 hair like miss sara jean, it doesnt matter how much you relax it! Why go bald trying to be like someone else? 6 MONTHS NATURAL TODAY!! WHOO HOOOOO!

  • Awesome! GoD did bless us all with our own unique and beautiful head hair. Love the video! GoD bless you!

  • Absolutely agree with your vid! I hate when black people make the comment, "oh that's nice on you, but its not FOR me," Uh, yes it is, you were born that way!

  • Amen sistah! You said that!

  • good message. thanks for sharing.

  • I am glad you did this video because i have heard people say that natural hair isnt for everybody and that is stupid because your basically saying that our natural hair is a mistake. Ok, like God made a mistake when he created us with whatever hair type, and that is just not true. We are perfect the way we are. Dont be a people, family, or whoever pleaser because then you lose yourself.

  • I understand what you are saying but understood that young lady as well. We all make changes to enhance ourselves and should not point fingers at one another for doing so. Point is everyone should be able to do what they want to do without being criticized (and I left a similar comment on her page as well) Peace & Blessings

  • I don't think natural hair is for everyone not bc of the look but bc of it time it takes to get to know your hair. That's my opinion...

    Nice points n vid!

  • Amen

  • You are SO right !!

  • Thats so right!!!

in germany, the german people love our hair...but the people with the kinks hate it ad want it to be streight....i cant understand, why a family member or good freind can say, Natural Hair is NOT for you....

  • It's funny, I went to work after spontaneously big chopping and all of my co-workers loved it. A high school friend's mother whom I hadn't seen in about a year had no problem making a face and saying "Oh, you shouldna did that." People have no problem being rude to your face. Part of growing up is filtering out other peoples opinions and doing what's best for you.

  • @mannypedib Yes, you are so right!!!

  • I agree with your input. Do you boo! x

  • Go Girl!! And the choir said...Amen!!

  • i loved all of the positivity in this video. i just did my big chop at the end of april and i live in an area where there aren't too many of us, and out of the few of us there are, theres almost none that are natural. Since I'm sporting a TWA and not a long curly hairdo I get strange looks from people. I just keep telling myself that this is how god made me and I dont need long & straight hair to be beautiful. Natural hair is beautiful and its how god made us and its tim to embrace it! =)

  • i agree completely i just think its programmed in alot of peoples brains that people should stick to a particular type of hair like for men alot of them like long hair, people steryotype african americans with relaxers and so on and so forth buth the case is their are different styles and different cuts this is a different world we live in and its versatile...back then alot of people had similar cookie cutter styles and alot of people arent used to it.

  • You are right girly...my mom tels me I look like a crackhead everyday lol....but shes balding and mine is growing so u get my drift lol

  • I love your hair and your outfit and your make up on this vid :)

    You look lovely

  • I honestly disagree. I'm relaxed. My daughter is natural. I've decided we can't both be natural at the same time. I have another little girl who is 13 months and now needs her hair done on a regular basis. Their hair is far more time-consuming and expensive (i.e. products) than mine. I don't like fros or braids on me, so what would I really do with natural hair? I applaud the natural ladies, but it AIN'T for everyone I can assure you.

  • Love your video good advice

  • I totally agree with this entire video=-)

  • i agree! i love THIS IS MY CHANNEL; I'M GOING TO STATE MY OPINION ON MY CHANNEL, i post that on my f/b a lot! i had my last relaxer nov 2009. i use youtube for different styles. i'm wearing sengelese twists now (got it from the african braid shop). i love wigs (started wearing wigs LONG BEFORE NATURAL TRANSITION). i switch my looks QUICKLY with wigs/ braids.

  • LOVE IT MAMA'S !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lol @ "take the lint out"

One thing that my mom has always reminded me is that no ones opinion matters in regard to the physical besides my "own". If Im confident and comfortable with the way I look then thats all that matters.

People will always have something to say about EVERYTHING its up to you to decide whether or not you're going to let what they have to say control your emotions and the way you feel about yourself.

As usual u're looking fab! :-)

  • I agree with what you're saying that God made our hair this way. I believe that if God wanted us to have straight hair, we would have it. Just this week my mom wanted to press and curl my hair for me and I told her no thanks, staying away from heat at the moment. My grandma told me that I looked like I was from Johannesburg, South Africa and she wanted to give me money to get my hair done!!!! I'm glad that I have a husband who's been supportive through this whole process!

  • amenn

  • Natural hair rocks well said cinnamon. High self Esteem is required to rock natural hair.

  • 100% AGREE

  • Genesis 1:31 states, 'Everything that God made was good'. PERIOD!

  • i truly enjoyed this video.... we are all fearfully and wonderfully made and in Gods eyes we are perfect..what you said can be applied to all aspects of life and that what made it meaningful.

  • I wish people who used this ridiculous argument would realise just how illogical and wrong it is. How can the texture that naturally grows out of your head not fit you??? I don't think I will ever understand that...

  • natural hair is for everyone, but everyone is not for natural hair. God has given us the beauty of choice. so everyone needs to choose what is right for them and not what anyone else thinks they should do.

  • This is a great vid. Definitely a topic that many are afraid to discuss.

  • I agree!

  • Great vid sis!!

  • The first minute in, I was already nodding along to everything you were saying. LOL PREACH <3

  • You have no idea how bad I needed to hear what you spoke about. It has been two weeks since my big chop and I have never in my life experienced the negative comments like I have been getting. I think SOME people have formed this way of thinking that states that you have to have your hair relaxed in order to look good and that is sad.

  • OMG YOU ARE SO CUTE!

    i love all your vids

  • Thanks MCC for the response video. I know this was a touchy subject for me, for the reason of my family never experienced natural hair, so sure enough they weren't pleased not even my mom. But after while it grew on my mother and she told me that you have love it for yourself. I didn't decided to BC for the thrill but for what I wanted for myself and my aunt's comment proved to me that I want this more than anything, so I thank you and I will keep loving me for me

  • I wear my natural hair just like it is...... I got the same flack but I'm my own person. Being natural made me change the way I eat. I like the natural hair community. Great video.

  • yup my familly is the same way, my mom says my hair looks like a mop and my sister sair "you got that african pride going on" lol smh i just laugh it off cuz i know bettr, i know that my hair is wayyyy healthier then it was relaxed, yeah its more thicker but i love it =] i told my mom i was gone get dreads (not really, just to see what she was gone say) lmao lets just say she perfers my mop over dreads anyday

  • U are right on point with this one!!....

  • Oddly enough, in my experience I've found that it's black ppl who are most negative about natural hair. Other races are excited about the difference and always watch to touch my hair, give compliments, and are genuinely jealous by the variety of styles that i can wear. Luckily, I have a husband who loves me whatever I do with my hair, however I've asked him how he likes my hair the best and he said he prefers it natural without all the chemicals. I should mention that my husband is Asian.

  • Great vid sis!

  • I feel like that girl... my family is NOT into me wanting to transition to natural *sigh* I don't know what my natural hair texture looks like though so it's kinda scary. Anywho... you and your hair look so pretty! And the color looks great :)

  • Wonderful response:-) I wonder about the mentality of people sometimes....you are awesome!

  • I AGREE 100%!!

  • I personally think the natural thing is not for everyone. Natural hair is very beautiful but everyone cant pull this off. Its the same way with makeup, clothing, etc.i think it has to do with your comfort zone. I do like the fact that natural hair is becoming more exceptable now but lets face it the fact that everyone may not achieve the look they are going for. At he end of the day people need to do what make them comfortable. Beauty can be alot of things ladies. great vid

  • Your hair is looking Gorgeous!!! Loving the colour too. When someone says "You do not look right with natura lhair" - say you dont look right with 2 arms and 2 legs (tee hee hee). Usually ignorant people are not that smart so give them a minute (or two) to take it in and try to work it out - then just walk away smiling and rocking what God gave you xx

  • Everyone is a critic. I think going natural you have to have a very high self esteem and be confident because unfortunately there are a LOT of people who will be negative towards someone who's going/is natural. Natural hair is beautiful. This person should try to surround themselves with at least "natural-minded" people. God didn't make any mistake when he made us. We are beautiful and just need to embrace that beauty more.

  • @HappyNappyKinks Amen to that!!!

  • amen. my hubby was not too thrilled when i did the big chop (my hair was fairly long with relaxer), but after seeing how comfortable i was with my natural, he changed his mind. not that i gave a 2 cent of what he thought of MY hair. i am in my 7 month post bc and i am loving it! my hair feel nice and u can tell that it's really healthy. if i feel like it i wear braids, kinky twists and even weave but at the end of the day i still have my own natural hair and that feels good!

  • I agree with your response, great vid!

  • @NaturallyCreole thank u sweetie
