  • I only heard this sound track its nice to see what the guy looks like. great voice didint know anything about mormons till south park and this show I think it would be nice if everyone treated them less harshly ^_^ I BELIEEEEEEEEVE IN SOMETHING!

  • Has he voiced any Disney characters?

  • WTF I am a frekin JEW!!!

  • I'm a Mormon and I found this rather entertaining :) If you're an honest believer of the Mormon religion, this shouldn't bother you.

  • I really don't understand why Mormons oppose this musical. It is very accurate with their beliefs and even shows how most Mormon's are genuine caring people who are happy with what they believe no matter what others say. Doesn't make them look stupid any more than it shows how important religion is to them. Those Mormons who are offended just need to understand that their religious beliefs are completely retarded, but they are happy with that so why care?

  • In that last note, where Andrew is singing, it looks like he's tearing. Probably because he's singing tony award winning song at the Tonys *tear* that's just beautiful; his dreams coming true. Leave it to Matt and Trey to fucking pwn the Tonys like they should've done with the Oscars x]

  • Haha Mormons are stupid

  • is it weird that i find this strangely sexual?

  • @rking194 Yes... it is weird that you find it strange. Everyone finds it sexual

  • There are more than 3 million Mormons in 200 countries

  • are there any non americans mormons ?

    serious question

  • @Remartinezz im a mormon from the philippines

  • @Remartinezz I think so. They send missionaries over seas all the time.

Elizabeth Smart the girl in Utah who was kidnapped for 9 months was a Mormon.

She grew up to go on a mission trip over seas.

Her mission trip was in France.

  • that guy can sure sing ^w^

  • @disturbedme5 the lyric is that 'God lives in a planet called kollob'

  • What does he say? I believe that God lives on a planet called....?

I was Mormon for 18 years...

I would love to see this in person.

  • I think the best part of this video is the smile Andrew Rannels gets on his face at 5:11. Any musician will know the feeling you get right before that final sustain. The notion of fuck ya sets in pretty quick. Hats off to this guy.

  • Mormonism is no more stupid, ignorant, intolerant, and categorically absurd than any other religion on the planet.

Superstitions are absurd by nature, no matter the source.

  • The beginning of this song is too like "I Have Confidence" from the "Sound of music" to be coincidence.

  • @Aprilshowersss it was done on purpose. several of the songs in BoM pay tribute to great Broadway musicals of the past.

  • MY GOD, ANDREW RANNELLS IS TALENTED TO AN ASTRONOMICALLY VAST DRASTIC DRAMATIC EXTREME, MY GOD CAN THIS DUDE SING, ON TOP OF HIS COUNTLESS OTHER INDESCRIBABLE TALENTS AND MATCHING GOOD LOOKS, I REALLY NEED TO SEE HIM ON BROADWAY BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

  • And suddenly, Jesus Superstar

  • I'm a Mormon and I find this absolutely hilarious haha

  • makes me so happy.

  • full show on my channel

  • My name is Jack, and I am a Mormon. And I believe.

  • Jdizz is either lying about his Mormonism or is very ignorant of the current and former teachings of his own faith.

  • I want to see this so bad, this guy seems like he was tailor made for this role, incredible

  • @xxSpearMonkeyxx fuck, I know. I wish these guys would come to Australia xD But now I have to make do with the soundtrack

  • 40 people didn't change their mind about black people

  • @TestMonkey254 haha!

  • Comment removed

  • @balletandtap1 - Google "Kolob," "Garden Eden Jackson County Missouri," and "black people Mormonism." And learn about your religion (apparently, for the first time). Matt Stone and Trey Parker are creative guys, but not even they could have come up with the cracked out shit Joseph Smith invented. That dude was smoking the really strong stuff.

  • I just can't get the creators of South Park created this:P

  • @discjockeyjole they're highly misunderstood dudes

  • If this was about any other faith it would be a terrible thing. But because it is about us it is totally fine. I'm so mad right now that i could spit nails.

  • @balletandtap1 No, it'd be pretty funny about other faiths too.

  • @balletandtap1 You're mad at the wrong thing you should be mad at yourself for believing any of the bullshit the mormons spew into this world

  • @Phil92389 Most of this is false!!! This is all rumors that people like you believe just because they are to lazy to try and understand. And again if this was about jews or muslems there would be a huge debate on how wrong it was to make fun of them. Please don't not write me back if you are going to make fun of my beliefs and use such disgusting language.

  • @balletandtap1 Personally I don't see how that's an issue. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints even put out a statement saying something along the lines of 'The Book of Mormon musical wins Tony's, while The Book of Mormon wins souls.' (Not direct quote, but along those lines!)

That's much more respectful than protesting or being enraged about a musical, don't you think? But yes, you're right. If this was on Catholicism or Islam it would be awful. Why not be proud to be respectful?

  • im a mormon, and all he is saying is true, except for the part of the planets, and the black people. garden of eden, and . they are bashing, saying all mormons come from salt lake city, which we dont. im from San Diego, and I'm proud to be a Mormon, believing in all the same stuff as Christians, but we have the book of Mormon, which is fine, and ill let you leave now.

  • @JDizz2011 search wiki for Black_people_and_The_Church_of_Jesus_Christ_of_Latter-day_Saints

Racism hiding behind "religion" is still bigotry.

  • @lohphat and, the internet isnt always true

  • @JDizz2011 Not true. I have nothing against mormons but just defending Stone and Parker - they did A LOT of research before writing this. Not just making stuff up. Black people really weren't allowed to hold the priesthood until '78. Since Joseph Smith took the mormons to Salt Lake to 'repopulate' a lot of people say that mormons originate from there. And the planets thing - again, is true as far as I understand it. If you reach the highest of the three heavens you get your own planet.

  • Oops. I meant I can't say I believe in 100%

  • Our beliefs might be a bit far fetched. I can't say I believe in exactly 100% of it. I know our church has an ugly history but I think its almost perfect now. It inspires it's people to be the best they can be. That's what really matters.

  • @9645596 ..the foundation of this faith is what scares people...it's so obviously a lie...and people are expected to ignore the "ugly history" RACIST history...and "believe"??? Well, this African-American giggles when elders "White & Young" come to her door...I just start singing..." Two by Two"..xDD!!

  • @9645596 what was the difference between the racist and factually incorrect teachings of then and now? Was god lying, the elders, or are you just trying to rationalize cult indoctrination? American indians are genetically linked to Northeast Asia not Jews. Why were blacks banned from church leadership until 1978? Cult is as cult does.

  • @lohphat Shut up fag, we are not a cult

  • @JDizz2011 aaaaaaaand that's why atheists don't take us seriously.

  • Comment removed

  • @JDizz2011 'shut up fag'...? Wow. So you, as a mormon yourself, or the 'chosen people of God' if you will, talk to people like that. Yet I'm an atheist and I would never talk to someone like that - internet or not. How interesting. Surely you're meant to practice what you preach? I genuinely find religion interesting, but hypocrites like you put me right off. Also, there's a BIG difference between being a good person because you want to be, and being one because if you don't you'll burn in hell.

  • @mulberrytoast People who don't follow a religion are often nicer, more moral and generally better than people who have some kind of crazy shit driven into their weak little minds.

  • @mulberrytoast no, no, no

    "Burn in HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • @JDizz2011 You just lost all of your credibility using that word, dude.

  • Hasa Diga Eebowai

  • For those who have seen the show, how many gunshots are there exactly in the show and during what act?

  • love the sound of music joke.

  • I was Mormon, and they actually believe all of that

  • @stinknus ..yep!! lol

  • I MUST see this play live someday. Seriously, it's on my bucket list.

  • hijo de perra

  • This is brilliant satire.

  • I would believe... but I'm strictly agnostic.

  • @kainon16 Not sure if South Park reference, or being serious...

  • @1335ginger Reference

  • @kainon16 I would believe... but I'm strictly atheist.

  • @kainon16 icwatududthere

  • This dude gave a crazy good performance

  • whats sad is that he swears in this song -.- and mormons dont swear :/

  • @marcymazing The warlord is the one who swore, dunno where you're getting that from.

  • @marcymazing he doesn't swear, the general doea

  • @ducerida you do realize this musical makes fun of religion?

  • @GalacticShonen

    You missed the point, bro.

  • @GalacticShonen yeah but at the same time it respects it. Matt stone and trey parker really do have respect and understanding for people who use their faith and beliefs to live happier lives. What they do is poke fun at the silly, illogical details that every detail and actually every society has.

  • @GalacticShonen the mormon doesnt, the other dude does

  • Just one more time! (5 minutes and 33 seconds later) Just one more time! (5 minutes and 33 seconds later) Ok......Just ONE MORE TIME!

  • i am mormon and im glad for our religion to be passed among others as entertainment n show that we as mormons do no harm in our preaching but show comfort in everyone

  • This musical lead me to Mormon.org where I met amazing missionaries...

I got Baptized on the December 31st 2011.

    that's right. I'm a Mormon.

Thank you Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

  • and I believe, that Andrew Rannells is a mythical creature!

  • he actually acts EXACTLY like the missionaries in my parents ward ahahaha. Ya know super excited and super gay? yeah pretty much

  • He. Is. Adorable.

  • I don't really believe in any of those things... except for Andrew Rannells.

  • Woo hoo!! He is good! Go Mormons!! (I'm a Mormon)

  • @261triplethreat1 hell yeah mormon ftw bruaa byu provo !!!!

  • @261triplethreat1 You're aware this is from a musical that mocks mormon beliefs right?

  • @TheGreatOldOnes well its not necessarily making fun of it. its doing what south park DOES it just shows the crazier sounding bits of mormonism (im an atheist) i mean you have to admit that any religion sounds crazy if you look at it from an outside view. its just easier with mormonism because its still a really new religion.

  • @TheGreatOldOnes It's satirical, it doesn't mock. The head of the Mormon religion has actually seen it and enjoyed it. Check out some of the Parker/Stone interviews where they talk to leaders of the mormon religion. Their thought is "as long as people realize this is entertainment and don't believe the entire show for truth, then they're fine"

  • Lets build a snowman!

  • Will he ever stop licking his mouth every four seconds?

  • @DremordDrale I hope not :-D

  • He kinda looks like Jim Carrey.

  • 37 people dont believe

  • I believed for a minute when I started listening to this song, but then I started listening to the lyrics.

  • To everyone fighting on this thread.. It seems most of you are Christian, and simply fighting over who is right. The fact is you all worship a good and hold true to the same basic values. ie the ten commandments. So as long as you arent killing raping stealing and lying, do any of you really think your story or background is truly so important you have to get mad on the Internet? Lighten up. In all Christian religions god is all knowing and all powerful, no god would be so petty as to damn his

  • @canuckykentucky Thank you for saying this.

  • Can you help? The Believe Again Project, working with Covenant House, Project 50/50 and The King Center, was created to remind people what Reverend Kings' message was and how we can apply it today. • It's official. Broadway has the greatest singers on the planet and hoards them like a crazy cat lady snatching up kittens.

  • Out of interest does anyone know if BroadwayTicketing sells genuine tickets?

  • this sounds just like i have confidence from the sound of music seriously go look it up its hilarious

  • Saw Book of Mormon in NYC. Laughed from opening until the end. Great show!

  • This SO needs to be a movie.

  • @greenpenguino I kind of agree, but I'm afraid they would destroy it.

  • @hiimbrady Well, if Trey Parker and Matt Stone were fully involved in it, I think it would come out ok.

  • did he sing this live? O_O

  • @chaosinorderrr yes. all Tony performances are live. And he sings it live eight times a week at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Broadway. I keep hoping for a chance to see it while he and Josh Gad are still in the cast!!!

  • I WANT MORE THAN ANYTHING TO SEE THIS LIVE BEFORE I DIE, OMG ITS SO AMAZING

  • A rabbi once told me that King Solomon sent ships to the New World.

  • I think I have watched this and listened to the soundtrack for this more times that I can count. Amazing performances by all the artist, and a hilarious story to go with it.

  • he's got such an amazing voice! the whole cast is perfect<3

  • seriously, THEY are the definition of talent.

  • 35 people aren't getting their own planets.

  • dang it! i'm lds, and i listen dis song everyday... it's so fetchin flippin freakin funny >.<

  • I'm LDS. And proud of it. And I have to admit this song made me laugh. And now I'm sitting here singing "If You Could Hie To Kolob."

  • @Moachoa same here! glad im not the only one who finds it funny xD

  • can you imagine if Aaron Tveit was Andrew's replacement when he left. That'd be awesome!

  • i pray that you will come back and see through the deception and lies the world has put in front of you it hasn't always been easy for me but i have always put my trust in God and held onto what i know i hate how people go and listen to ex mormons who are angry with the church and teach anti- mormon doctrine they aren't teaching truth they are just trying to hurt the church listen to good active mormons who live the teachings of the church ask them your questions or read approved church material

  • i am not meaning to sound self righteous or preachy i am simply meaning to state the truth and i am not ashamed to say it even though i know i will be mocked and attacked for it i really hope people can be civil and mature about this instead of mocking something so special and sacred to me and millions of other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints i know what i know is true and no one can ever tell me or convince me other wise and those who have fallen away from the church

  • @ElderPerk Not even if christ returned would he be able to tell you the truth. You hold fast to your own truth, you proved to every one else that its your own truth (MINE !!!) that everyone else is wrong. How can you be so greedy in keeping your own Truth when Christ died as the One Truth. He opened himself up for everyone to accept him. Even if they were held in concentration camps some where far East, but he doesn't need your church to save them. He needs people to believe in him.

  • just as any church can be riddiculed and made fun of but it does not take away the fact that we strive to follow Jesus Christ the Same one that is told of in the Bible and the Book of Mormon and all of this churches doctrine you can call us a cult but your wrong for saying that i could easily say the same thing about the catholic or baptist or methodist or anyother church but i know that they believe in Jesus Christ just as we do and that makes them Christians just the same as us

  • We teach of christ we preach of Christ we have hope and faith in Christ and we teach our Children that through Christ we can have a remission of our sins if we turn to God i don't understand how anyone can find fault with having faith in Christ We are Christians in every sense of the word I am a Christian i am not perfect but i try to follow my saviour Jesus Christ as best i can you can look at this church and try to slander it from past difficulties and misunderstandings

  • @ElderPerk What are Past Difficulties and Misunderstandings ??? Is it not an attempt to Change History ???

  • @kmacj19 actually their are people that try to change the facts of history and try to make the church look bad

  • @ElderPerk By their fruits you shall know them. Whether it be from God. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:21: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” ACTS 17:11: “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

ISAIAH 8:20: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”

  • I know that President Monson is a true living prophet of God on this earth because i have received the undeniable witness from God himself through prayer and reading the scriptures i spent 2 years of my life being a missionary for this church and my saviour jesus christ i know it's true will all my sould and no one can ever tell me otherwise you can try to tear it down but you will never be successfull we invite all to come unto christ to be healed by his love and compassion

  • @ElderPerk Did Christ die so that people can Tear your Church (Building) Down ? When did Christ Die ? wasn't it 2011 years ago ? When did your Church Erect ? Wasn't it just 180 years ago. So why was Gods Salvation put on hold from Christ all the way to 1830 years ? So Joseph can continue what Christ couldn't do ? It makes sense to me that because Adam sinned... Christ Resurrected and still Lives today. It could have never been lost. seeing after his death he rose 3 days after.

  • @kmacj19 Christ died so that we can have eternal life when we die and so we can be forgiven of our sins and yes our church was established less then 200 years ago but God and salvation was not put on hold as our doctrine clearly teaches and joseph didn't do anything that christ couldn't do we don't teach that as i explained and yes Christ is resurrected with a body of flesh and bone a perfect body it was never lost you are right on that part you don't understand our teachings

  • I ask you just to go and read what the church teaches first go to websites like Mormon.org or LDS.org and see these church authorized websites that teach you the true facts about what we believe i know i will be attacked for saying these things but why attack me i know that they are true not because man told me but because i have prayed to God and he has answered me just as he has answere billions before by giving us comfort and reassurance throught the holy ghost who only tells truth

  • @ElderPerk But you believe that the Holy Ghost has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as mans body ???

  • @kmacj19 We believe that the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit as stated in the scriptures which i stated i never said he had a body

  • Now you nay sayers can say all you want and try to slander the church with your anti material created by liars who hate the church they take parts of truth and twist it to make it look insane and crazy they change church doctrine to benefit there purposes you can say you hate mormons i don't care but why do you hate us so much when all we do is try to have you have faith in Jesus Christ and God and in the Holy Ghost if you want truth then read the Book of Mormon

  • @ElderPerk how did you put faith in Christ and the book of mormon in the same sentenced when talking about Truth. We Christians speak of Truth we speak of Christ. He is the Truth that we can now measure up to using the word of God. What does our Truth say about your Truth, That it is a Lie. You worship the Created, Rather than the Creator. You got to get right with the Creator yo !!! And stop worshiping false Idols, Like your Church (Building)

  • @kmacj19 Well since the Book of Mormon teaches about Christ which i have assumed correctly you have never read now i see a fellow christian like yourself is ver passionate about his beliefs and we speak of the same truth that is taught in the bible we worship God the creator as any of our doctrine teaches and being a active member of this church i know what i am talking about when i say we believe in God the father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghosts

  • @ElderPerk The Jesus you believe has a spirit brother named Lucifer. We believe that he is not his spirit brother, but his creator. You believe that Jesus was the son of an Exalted Man. We believe that God is not a man. You believe that Christ Attained Godhood. We believe that he has always been God. You believe that some sins can't be covered, We believe that His blood covers all Sin, It's all on your mormon websit bro

  • The God Head being 3 different physically seperate beings united in one purpose. one way they do that is by calling prophets like moses or Noah even Adam was a prophet by divinely appointing these men to do an extraordinary work Joseph Smith Is a true prophet of God who he was an ordinary man who was given an extraordinary work to testify the truth that Jesus is the Christ the only begotten of the Father and to tell the world that God loves all of us.

  • @ElderPerk Yes you are right in saying that Christ is the only begotten of the Father, because you believe that God has a body of flesh and bones just like mans. and that it wasn't the spirit that over came mary, but the father who came down as a man and had sex with mary and then had Jesus (even though mary was married to Joseph)

  • @kmacj19 actually we do believe it was by the power of the Holy Ghost that mary became to bear Christ in her womb so you obviously didn't get that part of our doctrine right ask any faithful member of the church and they will tell you the same thing

  • @ElderPerk So tell us did God come down and have sex with Mary ???

  • you know what i am a mormon and proud to be one i respect others and their religions. I know that those people who say were not christian are wrong and have not done any credible investiagion into this church or who say joseph smith is more important then christ they don't understand anything number one GOD is the Eternal Father who sent his SON JESUS CHRIST down to this earth to suffer for our sins and that the HOLY GHOST is real the spirit of truth all three making the GOD HEAD

  • @ElderPerk How do you RESPECT others and their Religion if WE Christians know that your prophet believes that God and Jesus visited him in the Secret Woods and told him not to Join any of their Churches because they are all wrong !!! There's nothing more irritating than a mormon who Offends people, than a lying Mormon. Hold yourself Accountable man and own up to what the church has created you to be homie

  • @kmacj19 well first of all i don't go tearing other religions down or say their doctrine is false when i don't know anything about it like you have and the fact is with prophets even in the scriptures not everyone believed so it's the same today even during christ time not everyone believed and it's the sacred grove not secret woods and yes i know what Christ told Joseph Smith that all the other churches were not his divinely chosen church we are taught that as basic doctrine in sunday school

  • @kmacj19 you don't understand the context of that statement or the meaning behind it and you can't say i lie because i don't you know nothing of our church or it's teacing you are getting your material from anti exmormons and people who hate the church so therefore their information is unreliable so actually read what our church teaches before calling me a liar. i do hold myself accountabel for what i believe otherwise i wouldn't be talking to you i am proud of what the church is and who i am

  • @ElderPerk …Behold, are ye stripped of pride? I say unto you, if ye are not ye are not prepared to meet God. Behold ye must prepare quickly; for the kingdom of heaven is soon at hand, and such an one hath not eternal life.” — Alma

  • @kmacj19 so unless you actually have something credible to say other then this garbage your spewing just shut up you need to own up to your actions and realize you are wrong on this subject homie

  • @ElderPerk “WISDOM — ability to judge correctly and to follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding.”

  • 4:58 'dad dancing at a wedding!!'

  • hahaha best song ever not just cause its funny its so well sung

  • 4:58 I love thata part hahha(:

  • Hasa Diga Eebowai!

  • I don't like Mormons.

  • I'm an ex-mormon, and I did the mission thing, and this is just great. I can't tell you how many missionaries are just like this. BTW, no misconceptions about the church, they might have well had a bishop help them write the lyrics. If you want to know the truth about mormonism, trey and matt are pretty reliable sources, they poke fun at them, but they did their homework, and I've never seen them lie about mormon beliefs...well since "Orgazmo" lol..the mission wasnt nearly that good.

  • "a war lord who shoots people in the face. what's so scary about that?"

    cracks me up every time!

  • 33 people didn't change their mind about black people

  • Okay. SunStealer001. Ur inaccurate. I am mormon and we believe that god send his only son to die for our sinscc

  • Wait, this musical is inaccurate. Technically, mormons don't believe "God sent his only son to die for our sins." They believe he went through the whole being crucified, but at the last minute, he ascended to heaven. According to them, I guess almost only counts in horseshoes, handgrenades, and being the sacrificial lamb that absolves Humanity of it's sins.

  • Thumbs up if you're just saying you're mormon to get a thumbs up.

  • @TheLeiterSide Do I thumbs down if I am not?

  • His voice makes me want to dance with puppies on rainbows and just smile forever

  • hahaha i'm a Mormon of 21 years (lifetime) and i find this hilarious all the misconceptions of the LDS church.. :)

  • @wyattahay So clear things up.
