Thank you all for leaving some comments.I agree that yes people these days are not interested if you have a portable or even a $100,000 truck mount... they are CONDITIONED to ask for a cheap rate. I also believe a genuine technician can clean carpets better with a portable than a shonky cleaner will do with a top end truck mount. Part of an intelligent business owners job is to educate his potential customers so they comprehend the reason he or she charges more to clean properly.

These days, if you can save them 25-33% you have the sale. 98% of the customers don't care if you have a $10,000 truck mount or a $1,500 portable, so long as the carpet is clean. I have 3 portables on the road every day, 150psi unheated, 250 psi heated and 17" self contained. Average tech does $500 billable, gets paid $125 for that work. I have insurance, references and guarantees. Most importantly I have repeat customers that have been with me 2-3 years, I started 3 years ago.

Kudos. Its takes a lot more effort to clean a carpet properly. You cannot "clean" 2rooms and hall for $50 esp under an hour. They can make it "look" clean but there is a big difference.

Everything you've said is true. People are too used to paying cheap prices and accept it as "good cleaning." They don't take the time to ask important questions or they just don't know to ask questions. People all too often will call up company " ABC cleaners" and hire them to be the "Professional" and they just get a cheap cleaning with soap based products (NON approved products by the Carpet and Rug Institute) When you hire a cheap cleaner you'll get...a cheap cleaning.

As I have nothing to gain I don't see how You can be anyone other than one of those cheap and dodgy carpet cleaners.

Considering the many testemonials I have it prooves you wrong.

your talking shit. who has the time to ask all of them qs i have had some really cheap carpet cleaning done to my carpet and it was well done. your putting people of just because you have stop doing that job!
