Part of the fun of IE is that practically no one knew, so it was more fun for the people who were in it (or watching the videos) knowing that the other people may very well never figure it out.
If this extreme publicity shows up too much, it'll be like Candid Camera all over again, cuz the next time a scene is pulled, everyone thats not in on it is gonna know and say "Hey, isn't this Improv Everywhere?" That's pretty much a nightmare for anyone trying to catch people off-guard for anything.
