You can destroy the Dreadnought, at which point, the game just kinda shrugs and goes "I got nothin." There's not even a model for the destroyed Dreadnought, just you flying around endlessly until you eject.
Even with cheating (Invulnerability) and putting all your power into Weapons, you can never beat that Dreadnought. Your weapons run out just before the shields collapse.
@Fbueller129 Have you tried it in the Longbow? If you have invulnerability on, you should be able to launch all your torpedoes at it, and if you load up with 16 dumbfires also, I've got to think you'll cause enough damage.
I never saw this ending before. I just would never allow myself to lose to the point to get here. Was really surprised when i actually read the novelization of WCIII and found out that the writers intended for you to lose MOST of the missions !
Always thought it was hilarious the guy from THE BURBS was the comm officer.
I remeber this game bugged out on me at the end and it never went to cinematic. I ended up flying inside the Dreadnaught and blew up a little generator. Lol. Nothing happened after that, I was just stuck in space.
I wish the developers of this game would have made an option were victory was possible in this last battle. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME. Instead you execute prince Thrakath. LOL
It is a no-win. As soon as you destroy a drednought, another one appears. If memory serves correct, if you say you're not begging for mercy, he guts you with his claws.
If memory serves me right, I do believe some more ships arrive and for some reason, the game crashes. That's what happened to me. Even with the ''Mitchell'' cheat, you can't win.
If only ConFed developed and distributed the Excalibur fighter more quickly, they would've steamrolled the Kilrathi, LOL. Eerie ending, the red sky was perfect for this "Autumn of Mankind" (humanity is near the end) scene.
Thrakhath still kills you, but he does it by gutting you with his claws (during the game it's also revealed that he did the same thing to Angel, because she didn't give in during the intro sequence). It's apparently considered an honour to be killed that way in Kilrathi society.
aww, should've told Thrahkath to go screw himself!

Cool ending, but a bit inaccurate..Thrakkath and Blair did meet face-to-face during the WC2 Special Ops campaign.

I have always enjoyed the Kilrathi's way of speaking. Though it's English, i find those growls that accompany the English so darn cool!

lol i remember how me and pals were totally sucked into this game, back when a pentium 100 was top of it's time.
I am so damn sad at the death of the space-combat sim genre....

Wasn`t there another sequence where you see civilians on earth fleeing from the Kilrathi invasion troops?

I expected Mark Hamill to be like...
"You've won, Prince Thrakhath...PSYCHE!!!"
*Mark pulls out lightsaber and turns Thrakhath into shishkabob*

What happens if you cheat and win?
amitabho123 2 years ago
I heard this is a no-win scenario, so as far as I know, even cheats don't help you win this.
FekLeyrTarg 2 years ago
@amitabho123 Then capital ships and fighters will continue appearing endlessly unless you finally get tired and eject.

Note Thrakath's disappointment in this video.
If Blair doesn't beg for mercy, he simply conforms to the Kilrathi ideal of a warrior. Thrakhath's ego inflates further and is pleased to kill Blair.
