I never liked the version of this song that went over the movie credits. This is what this song should be, more of an anthem than an R&B gospel thing. It's perfect for an 11 o'clock number, and it's not on the OGBC soundtrack, which drives me nuts. Because it's amazing.

I like Ann Christian (... sp??) as Esmeralda better (she's more powerful, IMO) but this is always such a wonderful, powerful song. I hope the rumors about bringing this show to the US are true... of course, with our luck, they'd bring it to the US and reinstate the happy ending! :( (c'mon, disney - this was a high grossing show in germany even with the dark atmosphere... shows don't have to be happy to be successful! Look at Miss Saigon and Les Mis!)
