The show was a classic, however the series went onto too long. When the series started it was about the Rowans. The series should have ended after Nick left.
It's strange that it's over. I grew up in Goathland (or Aidensfield as it is in the show) and for my entire childhood i've been surrounded by Heartbeat with the actors, crew and such, I basically grew up in the 60's! Sad times since it stopped.
Hard to believe this is coming to an end! I remember the first ever series with Nick and Kate! I'm 22 now, but grew up on this! I must admit that I haven't really followed it since Nick left, and it was never the same as it had been after Kate died, but it's still sad that it really is the end of an era!
