We kept 4 roosters for a bit while we decide which ones we wanted to keep long term. Two got mean with the kids (2 and 4 years old at the time) so they became stew. We kept two roosters to help protect the flock from predators. It seemed to work as we lost fewer free-range birds this year than last We hope that by keeping two roosters, we'll always have one around to take care of the ladies.

You have a lovely flock. We where mostly thinking of barred rocks though.
