  • I LOVED THIS VIDEO!!!!! THE ENDING WAS HILARIOUS AND I SPIT MY WATER OUT !! LMBO lolol THANKS i needed this laugh today but the info was seriously good!!! Please make more videos u can save lives!!!

  • What factors do you think attributed to you gaining your weight back?

  • @SpeechLady101 When you starve you slow down your metabolism which leads to rebound weight gain. . I DO blog every day about all this. You may also email me privately at BelovedIdeas@yahoo.com

  • @belovedideas Thank you soooo much, I really needed to hear this. I am 37 years old and im struggling with weigh loss. I have several friends that did get the surgery. I am afraid, no health issues, less then 150 pounds to lose and God is so good to me,(crying). I know its going to take time but I will not do that to myself. Thank you soo much for being honest, God Bless you and I pray things get better for you.

  • Meh, I know several people who've had the surgery and kept it off for 12 years, 6 years, etc. One person I know took off almost 200 lbs, got married, had a baby (something she'd always dreamed of) and yes, she gained back almost half of the weight, but she's still 100 pounds lighter, and has the family she always wanted. PS. Sometimes I do want a dick inside me *wink*. LOL.

  • Sad sad woman, I feel for you. What I'd like to say to you, Lisa is that unless you get your thoughts aligned with what you want to become...You are going to continue being what you are! Baby,I know you probably heard this before, but..,Its not what you're eating, it's whats eating you! Learn to be happy with who you are then everything will fall in place! Deeply and completely , Forgive, Love, Respect and Accept, Yourself! Then you will be fine! Walk in Peace and Light!

  • your not going to get flag sweetheart you just speaking your mind

  • juice feasting is really good! much love to you

  • Hi Lisa thanks so much for sharing! YOU ARE 100% CORRECT IT'S NOT US ITS THE FOOD WE CHOOSE. I'm trying to loose some weight for next summer. Any pointers?

  • lisa what do you think about the VSG?

  • @anahata58 I am FOR real food, spirit infused movement, positive thoughts, self care, body image healing and anything that helps to create flow in your health. Any WLS is an unnecessary disruption in your thriving and wellness. Avoid it.

  • I love you...

  • wow the most honest video update yet...

  • @TheLovebug3443 keeping weight off is hard as hell...

  • I guess even thought it takes me a very long time to lose my weight slowly bottom line best to do it without surgery in a way i guess i am glad they made me wait til i gave up probably they seen i was"doing it good on my own" why put a person through all this again those stupid effers in society who hate on some of us to drive us to this type of surgery outta have this done on them without painkillers see how cute they are then.

  • Lol! Nice ending

  • luv ya for calling me out...thanks!

  • HEY LISA MY NAME IS KAYLA MY MOTHER HAD THE BYPASS DONE 200S MY QUESTION FOR YOU IS WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BE CUT ALL THE WAY DOWN YOU BELLY MY MOM HAD LIKE 7 LITTLE CUTE RESONE Y IM ASKING IS THERE A REASON THAT YOU HAD TO BE CUT LIKE THAT OR WAS IT JUST THE WAY YOUR DR DID IT THE ON ONLY PROBLEM THIS SURGERY HAS CAUSED IS THAT SHE HAS TO TAKE VITAMIN D ALOT AND B12 SHOTS ONCE A MOUTH THANK YOU! AND IM SRY IF IT SEEM KINDA PERSONAL

  • @themrsbabycakes I did not have to be cut down to the belly button for the bypass. I was cut that way for the gastric banding back in 1988.

  • hi lisa!!! yuh are amazing.. i luv yuh.. but i'd rather jus work it off... God bless yuh mama.. how much yuh weight now in 2011?

  • I am sorry you feel that way.

  • Looks like she has gained weight back. EASY FIXES never are the answer.....

  • I died at the ending! You're beautiful!

  • I died at the ending! You're beautiful!

  • she's funny, with her jokes. But I appreciate this vid. I agree that cutting up your guts is not good for your body, overall.

  • DID YOU GET THE BAND REMOVED

  • @DREQON2005 I had the old band removed and converted to a gastric bypass in 2006.

  • good for you for being so honest about your experience. thank you for sharing. you still looks happy and feeling well. be sure to be careful not to gain anymore back though.you look good.

  • Thanks for sharing the "true" just what I needed to hear =)

  • I work with someone who did this and lost tremendous weight. She also aged about twenty years and has terrible pain. She's still single, nothing changed and she is now sick. WHY?

  • @awebreeze I am so sorry to hear about your friend's ill health. When surgeons bypass a significant portion of our digestive tracts it isn't just calories that are not absorbed. We can no longer assimilate nutrients properly (no matter what the bariatric supplement industry would have us believe). Malnutrition, mineral deficiency, and other malabsoptive issues lead to symptoms such as pain, neurological disorders, weight gain (due to a damaged metabolism and malnutrition) and mood disorders.

  • You know some thing this is the third video of this woman and i just love her- im sorry that she gaind 60 back but this woman is smart! she give the straight dope about things.. everything i have seen about this lapband and bypass whatever, cant all be as WONDERFULL as it seems- this woman is living proof! I only hope someones steps in and supports her on the rest of her journey.. keep strong gf.. fellow fatty has faith in ya!

  • Thank you so much for your candid honesty! My sister had this surgery a year ago nearly and she keeps saying she's fine and looking good at almost 100 lbs weight loss. I know the differences that not everyone else can see. I recognize them even when she doesn't. It scares me. Even at my weight of over 300 I will never do this to my body. People like you who are honest about this experience will lead the future generation to the real solution. EAT HEALTHY, EXERCISE & PORTION CONTROL!

  • Hi Lisa, THANK YOU!!!! --btw you had me howlin' with the "tool" moment!I suspected that the additive crap, followed by the starve/binge cycle made me fat. I was skinny while growing up on an Island and eating whole foods and drinking water. I started gaining weight when I discovered frozen pizza and Koolaid from the US. I got obese when I moved to the US. NO surgery for me. I will invest my time and money in whole foods and exercise.

  • i LOVE THIS WOMAN....LOL. SHE IS SO BRAVE AND SO HONEST AND I AM HOPING THAT SHE COMES TO TERMS WITH HER ADDICTION AND SHARES WITH US MORE OF HER LIFE...GOOD LUCK LISA !!!

  • You are one of the most honest, realest people out there. Thank you for this video.

  • Thank you for this video since it shows that it does not work for everyone. The surgery allowed me the energy to go to the gym and maintain my loss, as well as other factors, so it did work for me. Thanks for being courageous enough to represent the people it does not work for.

  • I know how you feel...I had RNY over 5 yrs ago and I have gained all of my weight back. My weight gain is not b/c all I do is eat either...it wasn't back then either. My doctor has told me that I can gain weight just by looking at food. He also told me that I gain weight just by drinking water...so now what?

  • Lisa, bravo for this video!!! IT's awesome! You are so right on about the surgery and so courageous to come back and update. So many patients in similar situations as you are, keep in the background. You need to clone yourself - people like you make this world a nicer place! ** BIG hugs **

  • @credregal Do you honestly think that because your uncle is doing great that the surgery is perfect and everyone should just be skinny and fine and dandy after wls? Be thankful that your uncle is doing great. There are many, many STRONG WILLED people who have had wls and still had many complications leading to regain. Wls is not perfect. Shame on you for degrading Lisa for something you are clueless about.

  • thank you for this video. I've been struggling to decide on if I were to have surgery or not and im thinking maybe I'll try one more time on my own before going under the knive, and P.S you look beautiful how you are sweetie

  • thank you for this video. I've been struggling to decide on if I were to have surgery or not and im thinking maybe I'll try one more time on my own before going under the knive, and P.S you look beautiful how you are sweetie

  • @vikingaprinsessan People give advice from their own experiences. I'm not anti RNY - I just am very much pro being able to speak out and be respected. And you don't have to say "have DS" just say you like it and you lost a bunch of weight and that is like saying "have DS". Just like when someone has a bad experience as Lisa has had it's like saying "don't have..." All too often people only hear the positive and not the negative about WLS.

  • @vikingaprinsessan If telling people the possible repercussions is "talking them out of it" are you saying that dealbreakers should be kept secret so people get stuck with something that isn't for them? Lisa is breaking the "conspiracy of silence" I encountered when I first got into this in 1999. Bless her and all the courageous patients who do speak out and tell their bad experience. They are saving lives!

  • @credregal and of course, you know this just from watching a youtube? I know this patient personally and you don't get a PhD and a successful career job from being a "weak person", trust me in this. I know hundreds of RNY patients in the same boat where the surgery didn't work for them. Or else it worked too well and now they are losing and cannot stop the loss. Do not judge someone else or you may face something worse.

  • It's true that many don't have long term huge success with gastric bypass. Most will gain weight back. If you have weight problems - please check for food allergies, specifically corn before moving ahead with surgery. Corn allergies are the most undiagnosed allergy in the US and it's in nearly every processed food.

  • @totallycornfused Yep. All the biggest govt subsidized crops like corn, wheat and soy are causing allergies and sensitivities due to overconsumption. They're in everything!! They're often disguised as other names too. Insidious.

  • thank you for warning people about the dangers of gastric bypass surgery. Low fat diets, msg and high fructose corn syrup have screwed up the metabolism of

americans. A naturopathic doctor can help you loose weight safely. I've lost about 60 pounds by working with a naturopathic doctor.

  • @vikingaprinsessan Like Lisa says, we'll see if you feel the same way in 10 years. ** sigh ** This is a highly educated intelligent lady who did everything right. She is average - the WLS surgeons say in the medical literature that they expect a 40-60% rebound gain after the bypass surgeries only they don't tell patients that for obvious reasons and they are pretty safe because most patients will either not dig into the studies or they will assume they will be different...

  • @dbaseII I didn't say anything that contradicts everything you just stated. I think as many people as they like should tell their story.

  • @dbaseII How did she do everything right if in her other videos she admites to being an compulsive over eater and eating past the "full" feeling after having her gastric surgery. That does not not seem like an educated, intelligent lady to me who did everything right.

  • @vikingaprinsessan How about we both tell our stories honestly and let people sort things out for themselves. I have to follow my conscience. I'm sure you have one of your own to follow as well.

  • @belovedideas I wasn't arguing necessarily for censorship, I think telling stories is great! But when I talk about my positive experience so far with DS I refrain from "recommending" anything because I don't think encouraging someone to do something so serious or discouraging someone from doing something that could improve their lives for the better should be avoided. From my perspective, one should tell their story and let others choose freely.

  • @vikingaprinsessan That's the second time you've used the word "necessarily" to avoid committing fully to an idea. If you're not "recommending" I stop recommending avoiding a life-threatening surgery then pray tell what are you doing??

  • @belovedideas I used the word necessarily because of the slight but important distinction I think should be made between saying "I had a bad/good experience with the surgery" and "I think you should/should not do this."

I find a lot of people in the WLS world to be strangely bitter and hostile towards others. Like DSers trashing GB or GBers trying to tell people the band will never work. I'm not a bitter person and I wasn't trying to go down that road. Best of luck and success on your journey.

  • @vikingaprinsessan ...or people like me saying "Dont' Cut Your Gut" (I see a bumpers sticker coming on)

  • @vikingaprinsessan ...or people like me saying "Dont' Cut Your Gut" (I see a bumper sticker coming on)

  • @Shakimas That long scar was from the two gastric banding surgeries I had in the 80s and 90s (before it was done laproscopically). Thanks for the prayers!

  • I WLDNT SAY UR TYPICAL, I THINK WHEN YOU HAD THE PROCEDURE IT WAS TYPICALLY NEW, THAT MAY BE THE REASON WHY THEY GAVE U DA LNG SCAR, ETC..... NOW DAT THERE IS NEW TECHNOLOGY AND NEW SURGERIES, I THINK ITS AN AWESOME TOOL FOR OBESE PEOPLE...(TOOL=DICK). SMH LOL I WISH U THE BEST OF LUCK AND PRAY THAT GOD WILL RENEW YOU WHOLELY FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH.

  • @kaugirl Yes, my adrenal fatigue has been confirmed by a doctor.

  • Ha ha, like the video, it worries me how many people seem to think that having surgery is the only answer. Lots of high far, sugar junk foods are addictive and hard to refuse, but your body does adjust and you stop wanting them. In fact you dont enjoy them anymore. You can replace the feeling of comfort you get from pigging out on junk for getting a kick out of feeding your poor body what it actually needs and it will stop craving so much food. Be kind to body all you food addicts you deserve it

  • Hey aunt lisa! Na don't do it over! it was funny! XD

  • @belovedideas , wow that's scary, I never had that problem, but my friend is on it now..

    Thank's for sharing !

  • Oy. Anyway, thanks for your honesty and friendly if disappointed spirit.

  • ...ahem. Fat fingers, haha. I'll let you know if I'm just another yoyo dieter with a surgically-modified gut with

  • Just stumbled across your vid. You are really funny, woman! I'm 7 mos out from RNY, down 145 lbs total. Feel like I'm on a long-term acid trip. Still at a place where I'd recommend the surgery to others, if you have a good support system. I'll look you up in 3.5 years and ley
