just finished watching the three films after about 2 months, was excellent though, and i saw many clever links to the bible, and moral life lessons we can learn, and true friendship, a movie that every human being should be made to see.
My late wife loved this song and we played it at her service. It is bittersweet for me to hear it but my dear lady, 41 years my wife, taken suddenly from me cherished this beautiful song, and I know she would have wanted it played as we bid her farewell.
It makes me sad. I love it so much though. We had a LOTR marathon with my friends and we spent a whole day to watch the trilogy (extended). At the end of ROTK this song plays at the credits. It was the perfect song, I wanted to cry.
@Linthediel Dont worry, new film out next year 2012, then another in 2013 and Frodo will be back in that but not for long, and it all takes place before the films :)
@Linthediel Same ive just finished watching all of the films today. If you like this song you should check out some songs by "Celtic Woman" you might like them :)
Great song. Even better that it was written in tribute of Cameron Duncan - the story about him and the film is really touching :) If you haven't heard it, look it up or get the extended editions of the films :)

the GREATEST movies ever. and it had the best line ive ever heard...before they most likely go to die, gimli says 'i never thought i'd die side by side with an elf'
legolas just replies 'how about side by side with a friend?' sums the movies up and i had a lump in my throat
I think having Arwen in this video is appropriate because in the books she isn't afraid of death. she is a representation of what death does in our lives.
Excellent job, I didn't really like the ending though. You should have used the Grey Havens scene, with the ship sailing into the distance - slowly fade to black. You had it stuck in the middle somewhere, but it definitely would have been a better concluding scene. Other than that, awesome job.
Frodo is the main character in the films, yes, but in the books it is more of a grey area. With some considering Gandalf or Aragon, and even Sam, to be the main character.
I love this song, but I'm not gonna lie, when I first heard it I thought it was sung by Frodo or something LOL, her voice is kinda deep. but either way, brillant song and her voice is still very nice :P.
respect for this song, respect for the book ''lord of the rings'', respect for the book ''the hobbit'', respect for the movie ''lord of the rings'' and also respect for the coming movie ''the hobbit'' :D
I adore this song... It speaks so deeply to my heart. I feel I wont be here much longer. Too many broken dreams, broken hearts and tears are ever before my eyes. I know my time is passing and I pray that when I close my eyes there will be a ship to bare my soul to heaven. I dont belong here anymore, the fight in me has gone and its time to go.
the end of this story is so emotional, I cry every time i watch it, merry ,pippin, sam say goodbye to frodo, especially when sam says goodbye, phewww!!!! I cant take it!!!
my friends mum had this played at her funeral she was kia in afghanistan mortar bombing it makes me remeber who for who she was and what she did to make this world a better place
This sounds morbid, but I would like this played at my funeral (which hopefully won't be for some time), but as a fan of the film and books it would be a nice touch.
Eeh, do you remember the first time you hold that magic book in your hands? Do you remember the first time you read it ? The first time you reached the part where Gandalf "died" ? Do you remember the first time you closed the back cover of the book, feeling the emptiness of the loss of teenage love? :-)
I can say for sure that this book gave some of the happiest moments in my life. And as wise man once said, I envy all those who are about to open this book for the first time !
this is the song I wish to listen to last, as my life is falind and death is coming or as Gandalf says to pippin, when "the grey curtain of this world rolls back, and then you see white shores on the horizon, under a swift sunrise"
For those that might not know. "The west" is the Undying lands (Valinor) which the creators and firstborn (Elves) of the world dwell.
When Bilbo and Frodo got on magical ship to take them there from the Grey Havens it was the last one before Valinor departed from the realm and Middle Earth became properly part of the solar system as we know it today.
To me it seems like a fantasy version of heaven in some ways
This is one of my favorite songs and I think you did a great job with the video editing! It makes sense that there are more elf scenes than Frodo too, because much of the theme of the song is related to the gray ships taking them to the Undying Lands. LOVE IT! GREAT JOB!!!
it is so sad that jrr didnt make more of the trilogy the lord of the rings the lord of the rings my great great great knew him you know. his name was cs lewis grandpa jackey
As a lotr nerd myself, both with movies & books, (i know the entire history of middleearth, read the books, seen the movies, all many ,many times) i must say you did a pretty decent job. thumbs up!
Wow... congrats. With the amazing combination of both this beautiful song and the always epic Lord of the Rings, this video made me cry :'( Wonderful job!!
Beautiful song and video. The song and the vid capture the meaning of death and dying so beautifully. I have a hard time not crying when I hear this song, but with this vid that is even harder. in fact I am crying right now.
To TheXTrueXKira - WOW! absolutley amazing video, thanks for putting it together, the song gets me all emotional anyway- but along with your video too it is even better. :) x
I definitely agree with JeffGeorge666 - the movie is awesome and fits REALLY well... Only thing I didn't like was the way the chorus was sung - but that can't really be helped.
because its from a book series that forever changed my life. everyone has the One Ring in their life, that one thing that tempts and warps us and calls us to give in. We are the only one who can destory it. We take others who care along the journey with us, but even then some must leave and depart. we all have a Samwise Gamgee who is telling us to do the Right thing and we all have a Gollum who leads us astray. But in the end we are the ones who must Destroy it.
This song, sung in such a way, can bring almost anyone to tears. Annie Lennox is one of my personal favorite female vocalists and she did a tremendous job in being able to move an audience with this song. From this video, its very symbolic of what the title means. Great job!
