Great! Thank you for your time and effort. I just started with this technique. I have the JoJo Mayer DVD but I appreciate any details to this technique, to me it seems not that easy to learn. Your video presents it in a crystal clear way, thanks again!
Very good lesson. Look I've looked at dozens of push pull videos. Forget what others say, your presentation is very good and covers a lot of approaches to get the were we all want to go. I have the feel in my hands, I understand what is happening, I'm just trying to get to the point where that is little of no effort. Always, always, always strive for loose.
THANKS! and yes .. always strive for loose .. the only way to get there .. is to practice a lot ... driving 1 handed and drumming on the dashboard with the other hand passes the time .. lol
I disagree... It's a great method in speeding up your hand speed (especially single strokes). It isn't that the strokes don't sound equal, they have accents. (As most rudiments do)
I'm trying to learn it myself, I hope I can get this fast
ugh, i don't think i like the technique at all. you can hear the inconsistency in the sound from the beginning when it's slow, and speeding up doesn't cover up it up at all. it's also messy rhythmically. you've obviously put in the time, but i think your technique is limiting.
no offense, but i don't see the point. i haven't used it, but it doesn't seem like it can be clean
no offense taken. i feel it works for me but if you don't like it then that's your thing. just thought i'd throw it out there. .. it can be clean with enough practice though. on jojo mayer's dvd he plays it 2x as fast as me and perfectly clean. obviously i'm nowhere as good as him, just throwing it out there
i use both feet. alternating. some people say it's cheating... i say it works its just rlrlrlrlrl on the hands r (on hats) l (on snare) and hit your bass drum at the same time as the high hat what "footing" you use doesn't matter.. you could 1 foot it, 2 feet, do 2 on each foot, 3, 4, ...
or you can play fast double bass in sync with your hand speed.
I can only say a BIG THANK U as the others, Cool to see it that close. To hosdurga I can say the same as shadowlorde said. Whatch carefully when you play it slow and later when you try to speed it up you'd already heve this fixed just by taking a good care of it while play slowly when you learn it. I've seen some others vids about O/C tech and many people say there is a great tendency to lose the stick in the beginning. So just try to pay a little more atention, I think that's it.

ok .. the sticks probably have a laquer on them that is really slippery when you start to sweat. try sanding the part you hold a bit. if that doesn't help then the only thing i can think of is start slow and take notice of how your hand is moving
to everyone who said thank you. your very welcoome. i try to make available things that assholes charge $50 for a video of the same quality of mine. and thank YOU very much for watching and commenting :)
