I watched this a few weeks ago when I rented the first disc of Vol. 1 of the Golden Collection (special features), and my favorite part was when Daffy tried to draw Tweety like himself. Did you notice when Daffy hit the right end of the paper and his bill got smashed? Good stuff from Jones and Freleng (they co-directed this episode).
I'm only 21 but even we got to see Looney Tunes for most of our youth. Don't care too much because I also got to see the Simpsons. Ever since then all the talent went to adult cartoons.
Why was the Mel Blanc segment cut? If I remember correctly, Mel even did a take on the classic "Carl LaFong" sequence ("Mel Blanc, capital 'M', small 'e', small 'l'...). I would have given anything to see that again!
Bugs Bunny will always be the greatest of all time! Just curious- do any of you who loved Bugs and friends also enjoy Sponge Bob? I love watching with my kids.
lol does anyone know the episode's name where porky pig thought bugs was dead and he was in a bra and bugs woke up and was all like D: that was hilarious. XD
Speaking of the LTGC DVDs, the footage from 0:00 to 0:46 is from an episode of the show that has been released on the first volume of the DVD set as a bonus feature.
i'm not absolutely sure, but i think this editing began when BB moved back to abc which, by this time, was owned by Disney...and i think this is where the cuts came from, i remembered some of these cartoons when they were on CBS, then suddenly...whoe, huge jumps where it was apparent 'more' had happened..
"The Bugs Bunny Show" originally ran on ABC in prime time from 1960-1966. After 1966,the wabbit and all his Looney Tunes pals moved from prime time to Saturday Mornings where it lasted more than three decades on the air.
And it ran on two major television networks...ABC and CBS and back to ABC where it ended its astounding run in 1997. What killed Bugs Bunny's reign on Saturday Mornings? The onslaught of Disney!!! Damn that Mickey Mouse!!!
However, the prime time version of this show was in classic black and white on ABC-TV from 1960-1962. However,it didn't make the transition to color until 1962,when half of ABC's programming was still in shades of gray with the exception of its animated shows.
If anyone has the Charlie Dog episode where he tells Porky he's "Fifty percent Collie! Fifty percent Irish Setter! Fifty Percent Boxer! Fifty percent Doberman Pincer! But, mostly, I'm all Labrador Retriever!" PLEASE post it -- it's my all-time favorite Looney Tunes.

The conversation Porky Pig and Charlie have about being a labrador is classic. "Know where I can get a labrador? NO. Then shut up." Funny stuff.

Notice the abrupt cut at 00:15. In the unedited version Bugs says "Not many people know this but I do Mel Blanc's voice!" A classic 'in-joke'!

That's CORNY CONCERTO. Did you forget that Porky and Bugs were performing a stage pantomime at the time?

The storyboards Bugs shows us are from the (still in production) Bugs Bunny theatrical short, "Transylvania 6-5000" (1963).

Ah, nothing funnier than that old "get me a Labrador, an' I'll retrieve it for you" line. Man, these guys are the best.

Milt Franklyn's music really works well in the Porky/Charlie scene. But not as nice as Stalling's score in "Often an Orphan."

They should put Looney Tunes back on Saturday morning.
