@brians2000 You don't understand. They're not _allowed_ to answer these questions. This has to do with the fact that the justice department must be allowed to do its work without interference from the government (separation of powers). This is, as Holder states, the same for republican or democratic AG's. The fact that they don't answer to some sort of cross-examination does not mean the justice department is not doing anything, they're simply not allowed to talk about it. With good reason.

If there is an ongoing investigation, the DOJ will not talk about it. This is an extremely sensitive matter because it possibly deals with the President. No one is going to make a comment any way until they know exactly what is going on, so don't expect much more than this. Frankly, this type of thing happens all the time in Washington, so it doesn't surprise me. Reagan allegedly did the same thing during his administration.
