find a good olympic lifting coach.this is how TOM PLATZ learned.need proof?look him up on you tube.2 inches below parallel.try olympic front squats as well with a 2x4 under the heels.a great trick i learned from the great JOHN DAVIS-gold medalist.good luck and have fun thats the true key.
This guys form is bad. Anyone learning to squat should not pay attention to this. Like others have said, his knees go WAY past his toes. You never want your knees going past.
If you're going to try and educate people on how to squat properly, at least do it correctly so you are not responsible for injuring others.
1. Your knees go too far past your toes
2. You don't lock your body in properly before you begin the movement
3. You drop down like it's cool and slowly get back up where it should be the opposite. You should go down controlled and steady, but not slow, then do an explosive move up while maintaining balance.
I was curious because I have heard going down so low like that can wreak havoc on your ligaments in your knees. I had ACL reconstruction surgery a few years back and sometimes find it difficult to squat that low without putting a high level of stress on my knee. What would you recommend?
@Texxet11 A lot of people ask that. No, deep squats are healthy for just about every part of your body provided you do them correctly. Google "are deep squats bad for your knees" for more info.
Glad this was of some help. The guy who was doing the squats is about 5'10", 192lbs. As for how much he squats I'm not sure. I've seen him easily do reps with 225 but as mentioned in the vid he likes like do lighter weight to focus on form,

I was a champion body builder at 11 and now I quit, but my max squat is almost 700lbs ATG, perfect form at 13, 201lbs of solid muscle.
