  • Wonderful sounding bells

  • What wonderful sounding bells and wonderful striking. Somthing special to listen to.

From a not so wonderful ringer but one who does know what good bells sound like and what good striking is.

  • nice tower. I don't get the hohoho I have seen it around but am confused to it meaning. can someone enlighten me?

  • They sound great - alot of tens have a decent front six that are overpowered by the tenors, these sound good together, the tenors don't block out the sound of the trebles.

  • Hope to ring on these next week. They sound lovely, so much easier to ring than my home tower of Truro Cathedral!

  • were they enjoyable?

  • Yes, but we didn't really do them justice. The ringing in this clip is of a high standard and it is always a joy and a privilege to ring in a touch like that. I have to say (and I am not referring to Stratford necessarily!) that it is sometimes better to ring something more modest very well than more complex stuff poorly. A good practice should (hopefully) consist of a good mix of both. By the way, they do go much better than Truro.

  • Good striking

  • I rung the bells At Westminster for an Bell Ringing Open Day What is held in September. on top of that Bull Ringing Birmingham has 16 bells. I Don`t no why I put 10 Bells. Look It up U will Find out all about it God bless Bye for now

  • on what occasion did you ring at Westminster Abbey?

  • They're a lot better than our ring of 10. (Wimborne Minster)

  • I think Wimborne are very good - I've heard them outside (albeit on youtube) and they sound very fine, better than they do inside. They go nicely too.

  • Few 10s are as good as Stratford, but I feel that you're comparing chalk with cheese, not only in terms of weight but style. Stratford and a free-wheeling humming Taylor 10 just under 1 ton, Wimborne are a heavy "slower-turning" booming Gillett 10. Tower movement and some oddstruckness don't help at Wimborne but they go well since being rehung and are a fine sounding peal of bells when rung well.

If you want comparable rings of 10 to Stratford, go to Pontefract and Abergavenny!!

  • Whitechapel can only dream about casting a ring as good as this. HO HO HO

  • Listen to Westminster abbey

That's all I'm going to say

  • Listen to them? I have rung there - these are far better.

  • Undoubtedly these are a good peal of bells, and I was not implying in any way that westminster are better than these, though I was merely replying to "shippingforecast"'s comment about Whitechapel. My home tower are mears and stainbank, and are a rich full peal of bells at that! Whitechapel have created fantastic bells throughout their history, By my last comment, I was instigating that Westminster were a good peal of Whitechapel bells.

  • Theyre certainly very nice inside, and outside theyre rther good too

Nice to see them being rung this well - the times ive been there have always been with a gash band.

  • they sound like a Taylor's vintage - and the internal acoustics are marvellous, bringing out the best of them
