@ThePivotRPG I pretty sure making it less realistic break a bit the whole "what is amazing" of the game,you know.there is a reason the final game is the way it is!
Dr.Kliener speaks there like his voice actor should really speak. but for some reason he changed his voice to some helium sound in normal version of half life 2 or maybe it's edited. there's some video in youtbe where you can see kliener's voice actor talking and alyx voice actor calls there but you can't hear her voice right because there's bad connection
I still say this left out conversation was recycled for episode 3 when the remaining Black Mesa team insists on going after the Borealis, even though Alyx knew that is not what Eli wanted. Anyone else suspect that?
i can't really say its better or worse. in fact i think what valve did was just different in the retail along with shortening the story and making the game less interactive. you notice how Dr.Klinner told Gordon to be careful when he pushed the monitor over and Alyx told Gordon to stop starring at her when he did. That doesn't happen in the retail. although the retail is less blank and faster then the beta. retail V the story keeps you glued to it by making you feel like your in a movie.
Btw in Half Life 2 you can't break the monitor from the desk like in the beta version but Kliener's pet headcrab breaks some monitor and Kliener isn't happy about that. I guess Valve wanted that Kliener isn't angry for Gordon :D
It's a very nice and cinematic scence but I think it would have been too hard to make meaningful when playable.. I think Valve have had there reasons.

your idiots the didnt add it too the game because this was the real hl2 where should come out in 2003 but a german man stoled the source key so valve did a new hl2 some come out 2004 and its more boring if you looking in the older hl2 its more fun but you can download it..
Then Valve is retarded. HL2 Beta had 4 times as many enemies than the retail. The original story was longer and much darker. Valve had absolutley no reason to change the game.
