It's her "birth ring" which has her serial number on it. She came with a birth certificate too to prove that she was not smuggled into Singapore illegally.

Thank you for the comment. Sophie will turn 7 in December 2008. She was hatched on 7/12/2001 at the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore.
