i play d3 ball for rpi up in troy new york and we had a guy that plays linebacker tear his achillies my freshman year. He tore it the first game and had to redshirt. This past season he came back and was second team all league, has a three hundred plus hang clean and still runs a legitimate 4.6. With proper rehab, Brown will be fine he's just got to be willing to put in the work.
Andre, congratulations on being selected by the New York Giants in the 2009 NFL Draft. I was saddened to hear of your injury. I know that you were looking forward to facing the Panthers tonight. I'm sure that you and your teammates spent Sunday afternoons watching them. Best of luck in 2010.
Usually, healed achilles injuries translate to a loss of burst, it seems that this kid's pro career might be over before it started... Sad to say - we will have to see...
pretty bummed that he tore his achilles. i really thought he'd become an offensive weapon similarly as quickly as bradshaw did. too bad, i really liked him as a draft pick. hopefully he'll get a chance to show his abilities next year
hmm somehow i don't think 81 yards counts as running all over a defense. And he only had 1 100 yard rushing game. And I went to the Wake Forest state gmae where he got trashed.
The Depth Chart should be 1. Jacobs with 2.Bradshaw and 3.Ware sharing carries. This guy Brown should be a good special teamer. Ware runs with finesse and Bradshaw is tough to locate besides tackling.
Unless he gets the coaching staff's approval and with an awesome camp, I doubt he beats out Ware for that third spot.

I wouldn't be too excited over this pick. I live in NC and have watched Andre Brown for several years...I know he was injured a few times and didn't seem to always put 100% into his talent, but who knows he could really be something. Good Luck.
I know everybody's worried about losing ward, and that's a problem in the passing game but watch the games that danny ware has played in and I think he is going to be number 2 on the depth chart this year. This guy looks exciting I'm most excited about the fact that he looks like an almost power back type player but can catch the ball.
ringer is too injury prone after having major surgery on both knees plus ringer doesnt have that type of game breaking speed the giants are looking for
It was a good pick... Giants know what their doing. This guy is solid. He's never fumbled in his college career which was a problem late season with Giant rbs. Brown is also an every down back with power and speed.
He has a lot of Clinton Portis in him, hopefully he's also in the NFC East, although playing for the Eagles. Him and Rashad Jennings fit the WCO because both are great receivers.
This guy is big and fast, exactly what you want in a back. I hope the Rams pick him up in maybe round 2. When Steven Jackson goes down, we would have a capable backup. But I have heard that he could go to the Texans so we will see.
good fit for forty 9ers , the coach like hard nose runners, fit well. i think greene is a little better because, brown had some injuries, durability concerns. but both very similar running style.
hmm well i think brown can fit better in san fran. he would be a good compliment to frank gore, where i think shonn green might be gone by than, i hope shonn is picked up by jacksonville while the 9ers pick up brown.
very good back. he put on more weight when tom obrien came in. cause obrien thought that he was a east and west back . which doesnt work for tom obrien offense schemes. so now he is more a north and south back.
He's been splitting carries for his whole college career, ran behind a poor O-Line, and battled with some injuries. He's got great strength and explosion. He can be almost anyone in a footrace. He's got the physical skills to make it in the next level.
I hope they use Brown in our game against the Giants. We will need his power to run on the Giants defense.

81 yards on 20 carries. 41-10, suck it.
wolfpack2013 2 years ago
He had a hell of a Senior Bowl / Combine. Thats what made him stood out.

ooo yeah cause he didnt run all over your defense last year or anything

he didn't. 81 yards? and I went to the Wake Forest game where he got destryoed.

Stop hating on Andre Brown. No RB on your shitty team is half as good as he is.

Macho is slow, we run alot of complex man/zone scheme's he doesn't match up well with anybody in the nfc east. Special teamer at best.

Good move. Jacobs gets nicked a lot and I heard this guy has hands.. he practices catching 100 passes a day... Some had him rated in round 2.

looks like another big bruising running back in the giants runningback core great pick

good awareness and power, but not a whole lot of speed i think he goes to arizona or san fran in the later rounds

or houston. they'll be looking for a complement for Slaton and a big back with alot of power fits the bill.
