i prefer the one on the dvd, its just a bit better, nice song tho. does anyone know if the song with " bound to be back again, if the lord dont let me down" , the song instead of this in the sequence, on the dvd version, is available to buy, and what is it called ? thanks
I cant believe I found this song here. I once cut a lady's hair at House of Michael when I was young and she told me her boyfriend wrote this song and she played it for me. That was almost 40 years ago and I never forgot the song cause it was so awesome, so I googled it and found it. I cant believe it. What a great song and for me to remember it for all these years!
That was Awesome! I was born & raised in Prescott, Arizona where the movie Junior Bonner was made. Eat chciken with Steve Mcqueen at the fairgrounds and a dinner benefit my parents took me too during filming where Robert Preston gave my dad a 6pack of beer and he danced with Ida Lupino from the film and sat at our table with the regular folks. During the summer we would go to the courthouse park and listen to Rod Hart who sang the song Arizona Morning, Rodeo Man & Others. Thanks for the post
@stevenochoa3 YES- probably a one hit wonder, but my dad did a hell of a job on this song. And it sure fit well with the film. I still am not sure why it got cut out of the DVD version.
@rhartcpa Wow, That was an incredible update Ryan. I grew up on your dads music and especially enjoyed the summers walks with our parents passing the bars on Whiskey Row and hearing your dad playing. I meant no offense when saying OneHitWonder, please accept my apologizes! Please let your dad know he's got many fans still out there and especially miss hearing "Arizona Morning"! -StevenOchoa3
@stevenochoa3 Love it! I am actually rod's son. I borrowed a guitar from a street performer just 3 weeks ago and played Arizona Morning on the sidewalk. It was fun. My dad is still in prescott - lives in granite dells. He is almost blind now, but I still get to jam with him sometimes. He wrote the song - but I think bob cox helped him!
I swept the floors of the Palace, the Bird Cage, Wagon Wheel, and Matt's after the bars closed on whisky Row Back in 1973. One evening I think it was in Matt's or Wagon Wheel. I was all alone and I noticed A telecaster with the name Rod Hart on the Fret Board sitting on the Stage. I picked It up And Turned on the amp and Played SMOKE ON THE WATER as loud as I could. A Couple of riffs Thats all. Then I went Back to work.
Thanks a million times for posting this! I grew up in Prescott and was there when they filmed the movie. A little later I used to go out to the Wagon Wheel to hear Rod and his band play. I used to have the 45 (backed with Rodeo Man) but it disappeared along the way.
I never saw the show, but I do like this song. I grew up in AZ and have moved away. I think this song was only recorded on a 45 record, but does anyone know where to get a copy?
@cariadams@cariadams@cariadams Hi ....Actually, I am Rod's son, Ryan - we are launching his website in the fall. He will be selling records from there. hopefully we'll have it set up by November. . thanks for being a fan of my dad. I love playing his music!

Thank you for posting this/. I have looked high and low for this. I would sneak into the drive-in movie for the second show cause this was always played back then. Years latter flying on a cross country mission I stopped in Prescott and went to that bar. Probably not long after they filmed the movie.

Seems there was a question as to who all was in on the writing of the song....So Jeb Rosenbrook had it removed.... Jeb is the writer of Jr Bonner.
