@mjoniaux21 Yes, they traveled back in time to grab a whale and bring it back to the future. Some aliens, who were destroying Earth, were sending signals to whales. But by Kirk's time, all the whales were dead.
@Charmolution I have vista too, (at least I *think* it's a vista) and I can't find the sound file os Scotty saying 'Hello, Computer.' do you have to get that from some place else?
James Doohan was a legend, it was a real shame to hear he was gone but at least now he can rest now that has gone and beamed up to that great starship in the sky.
This part was funny, but it really doesn't make sense. If Scotty doesn't even know that he can't talk to the computer, then how does he know how to use the software, and how does he type so fast?
@jadetraveler they do have keyboards in ST, and he prop knows how to use a simple program given that they use far more advanced ones in the future. Its kind of like giving someone a super Nintendo in the year 2018. The only thing showcased here was him forgetting when voice recognition command was invented.
This sucks. German and french languages have the full scne but the english ones only have parts of it.

Ah here is one of the rare scenes where you can see Jimmy Dougan's right hand with only 4 fingers (he lost the middle finger in 2nd world war).

not in this particular clip, but if you pay attention in this scene while Scotty's using the keyboard you'll notice he only has 4 fingers on one hand
Curttehmurt 1 year ago
@Curttehmurt ....We all have 4 fingers on "each" hand.... the other is called a thumb.
Of course I know what you mean.... but I just could not resist. I'll look for that next time around.

My log-in sound is Scotty saying, "Hello, computer."
Charmolution 1 year ago 56
@Charmolution How did you get it to do that? I want my computer to say something in Spock's voice when I log in. Is that possible?
StoneKnivesBearskins 1 year ago
@StoneKnivesBearskins
Find the .wav in your system files and replace it with whatever you choose, just be sure to rename it the same as the original file.
Charmolution 1 year ago
@Charmolution Find the what?
Sorry, a computer genious I am NOT. :( I must rely on Spock. LOL
StoneKnivesBearskins 1 year ago
@StoneKnivesBearskins
I have Vista, so here's how I did it (It will be slightly different depending on which Operating System you're using):
-Go to Control Panel
-Click on Sound
-Click on the Sounds Tab in the new window
-Scroll down to Windows Logon
-Click Browse
-Choose the sound file of Scotty saying 'Hello, Computer'.
Personally, I took the Scotty sound byte and mixed it with the original log on sound, though. I think it sounds better that way.

htt p: //w ww .angelfire. com/nj2/startrek3/sound. html (Remove the spaces)
It's on that page somewhere, just save the file to your computer.

@Charmolution Thanks. I might do that someday. My computer won't let me download *ANYTHING* from online. :(
Thanks for giving me all that info.

@Charmolution That's a great idea. I might do that, LOL!

Unlike Janeway, he probably took that 20th century tech class in the Academy. It just took him a minute to remember how to use it.

20th century tech class? I don't remember that being mentioned in Star Trek.

I don't remember which episode of Voyager it was on, I believe it was the one with the USS Relativity.

@jadetraveler Why not? I had 17th century tech class when I was in high school.
