  • Anyone remember Cass's venture into acting? Remember PufinStuff, and then there was a daytime soap opera "Dr Kildare" which she appeared in an episode entitled "Charlotte Wade Make Lots of Shade." It was so good. She played an overweight person struggling to control that, and she triumphed the judgments and stereotypes of others. Heard also during the 70s she was being considered to be in a biopic on Kate Smith. Cass exemplifies spirit and love and going beyond hang ups on physical appearance.

  • Thank you Mama Cass for blessing us with your life your voice and your love.

  • Who can ask for anything better than to hear the voice of the late and great Cass Elliot.

  • Could these lyrics Cass Elliot sang describe her any more to a tee?I doubt it very much so.

  • Cass Elliot was and is fantastic!!! Love you Cass!

  • Such a funny and cute song!!!!!

  • She really is very pretty and had a lovely spirit!!!

  • Mama Cass para sempre. I love you.

  • We miss you mama Cass!

  • meirishguy

gee thanks for all that info;;;;; i wish i could go back to the day 1979 when my teacher played that song (on casset player

  • It is so sad to know that she never knew how beautiful she really was.

  • @TLSPSHEL2 i would like to think she did,her persona says it.love u cass n god bless

  • @TLSPSHEL2 From her bio on A&E years ago that I saw,David Crosby said that she was a lonely woman underneath her brave surface. Some of the characters(some weren't real men)that were involved in Cass' life were interested more in her fame and money than who she was as a person.

  • where was she BORN? anyone know?

  • @purselady2 She was born Ellen Naomi Cohen on September 19, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her stage name was Cassandra or "Cass" Elliott. With the group "The Mamas and the Papas", she was called "Mama Cass". Sadly she died of a massive heart attack in her sleep on July 29, 1974 after a triumphant concert in London, England. She was only 32 years old.

  • Karlene7>> ii agree;;; shes beautifull'''''''and ''' being BiG is just more to LOVE

  • her songs are a testimony of her life...just listen to her!!

  • she aint BIG shes just MORE TO LOVE

  • At least I got to be around during her time on Earth. Her passing was devastating and to date-NO ONE- has ever been her equal. Even with all the new techno gimmicks that all these so-called STARS-use. She will always be the one and only and no one yet can even come close to her.

  • mama cass was the total package. voice, charisma, lovely songs, great harmonies.

Why was she taken from us so early in her career? Sadly missed.

  • One thing people need to remember: TALENT COMES IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES! REMEMBER THAT FOLKS!

  • God I miss these days. When people didn't give a fuck how you look as long as you were a great singer.

Nowadays most people won't even look at a singer unless they were sexy, thin and wearing hip clothes.

  • I think she was gorgeous regardless of her weight, thin or not she still would look pretty.

  • she might not be pretty but she has a great voice like that saying goes you can't judge a book by its cover

  • Love that song! She was beautiful inside and out! Just because she had a weight problem and who doesn't today! We are the most obese country now in the World! She had a Style and personality all her own!

  • she'd be real pretty if she was a little thinner :)

  • spot ,,but she wasnt. she did the best she knew how.

  • @spotdathief it's statements like this one that come from people's mouths that are symbolic of what's wrong with society today. Then again,it was even a problem in Cass Eliot's heyday in both the Mamas & Papas and on her own.

  • P.S. on the comment below...If I waited for the pendulum I may be dead. I think I will just be the same type of woman as best I can. And Thank you for the comment on people not seeing true beauty! Damn if that isn't just the biggest bummer of all. But back to the TRUE beautiful people.......Love On! Here's a big ole Howdy and How ya doin' to all those loveable people that come here!

  • I love you Cas. Darn a different time! We would have been best friends. So hard to find women like this nowadays! Love ya Cas. You make me smile every time I listen! I sure wish you were here or I were there! :) NOW that's a beautiful woman!

  • She is so gorgeous.

  • I don't want to be a bore but I will! This woman inspired me from when I was a wee girl. She was real. beautifully real.

  • That is not boring, that is beautiful, Mama Cass, was a beautiful lady, with an amazing voice. cudoes to you. You are great

  • thank you, so r u! It's such a shame some people cannot see the true beauty in the world! x

  • You say "wee girl" are you Scottish??

  • yeah! I am! xxxxx

  • ain't it the truth!

  • Yes, we were, Omni. But life is a pendulum. Just wait long enough. . .

  • I think most people out there with musical taste would agree that most music these days is shit. Simple. Then when we hear music and a voice like this today, i wish i lived in the 60's as a teenager. I absolutely love Cass, and the M/P'S. Pure music. Man the 60's kids were so lucky!!!

  • @omnicub3

Most music of every time was shit.

  • I love this woman!

  • One incredible talent, her music is her beautiful legacy for us to hear

  • love this, love her!

  • Beautiful smile & talented woman..*wink*

  • real women dont diet! love your local BBW!!!! theres more too love!

  • Karen Carpenter is dead because she was too thin. It is all relative. Our obsession with looks is insane.

  • I loved how she could nail notes. She was stunning...what a presence...how tragic her life was cut so short...that is so terrible...I am glad that all these years later, people remember her and miss her.

  • Cass was an incredible talent. It's a shame that she could never make it in music today because she doesn't "look right". They can make anyone sound good in the studio these days, so it;s not about sound anymore, it's about how you look. How sad.

  • your so wrong, the 60's were the same as today (it was all about the look then too) and if Cass was around today she would be kicking ass on broadway

  • We'll have to agree to disagree, elliot.

While I agree that Cass would indeed be a Broadway star today, she couldn't be a pop singer without looking like a supermodel. A lot of pop singers today can't even carry a tune, but they're beautiful and that's what counts.

There were a number of acts in the 60's that couldn't possibly have been based on looks... like Bob Dylan. :)

  • She is great she looks good with her body type.

  • Well i disagree. I don't think singers today are beautiful at all! they all look the same, all have the same figures and sound the same too! thats boring in my book! Variety is the spice of life! The only modern singer I think was different was Bjork. Truely unique, just like Cass x

  • elliot2977, then how come cass made it bug in the 60's?? jeez...

  • Even tho she is heavy it doesnt matter, cuz she is great singer, and the weight looks good on her. She is beautiful hair, face, looks. Really distinguishable. RIP

  • VERY TRUE!

  • And a lovely smile it is too :-)

    I love Cass,

real music, made before the world became so superficial, it's sad that all the world wants now, is a computer generated voice on a supermodel, the world needs more people like Cass

  • Mama Cass is beautiful and she is a greate singer now we have the perfect idol for all the girls in planet because it dosen´t matter if you are fat or you can´t do something that someone else do or have what matters is everything is inside you (this was written by a 11 years old girl)xD sorry abou my miss spelling if i have one :)

  • its me again HikariNoRexen well when i said that Mama Cass IS beautiful I meaned that even if she is dead (reast in peace) she will always be beautiful :)

  • ~*R.I.P*~ Mama cass..... I will all ways love your voice

  • I remember loving the Mamas and Papas, expecially Cass, when I was growing up. What a great voice and what a talent. I have this on an album. Is there a cd with this and all her great songs? Still can play the vinyl but would love to have it on a cd. All I can say is love Mama Cass and thanks for posting this song!!!

  • @grego26 Some of Cass' original albums are slowly resurfacing on CD.Now if only they'd release her Don't Call Me Mama Anymore special on DVD,because she had finally served notice to the world that she shines on her own.

  • She was born with a voice... She's could sang everything what they would give Her. Everything. What have She Done in Her very short solo career, imagine what would She be today...

  • oh god!!! Her voice is incredible. I have never heard this song before. She's my idol!

  • I think more girls should take this advice. So many girls pay so much attention on their make-up, hair, dress & heels but do not put much into their attitude...

    Love Mama Cass! :)
