We can go to international courts because one way of claiming it is at least you have historical evidence you owned it and good thing we have the documents as proof. @fazzlan89 as far as I know, the connection of the colonist, on this case, the Spaniards, are quite small, since the territory (SABAH) was recognized as a Philippine claim way back even before 1658, the sultanate of Sabah, himself actually ceded the northern and eastern portion of sabah to the sultanate of Sulu, and Palawan to Spain. The connection of the British Empire was recognized when they leased the territory to the Philippines in exchange of tributes, which means they just rented it.peace

@fazzlan89 Just to set things straight, over 60% of Mindanao are christians. The muslim insurgents have no right to claim the whole of the island for their own. There are colonial remnants all over the islands to show that "bangsamoro" vision is a small part of the whole territory. It's relatively peaceful and progressive in teh majority of Mindanao. It's not like the media say. Ironicaly, most of the conflict and strife are happening in areas closest to the Malaysian borders, think on that.
@LambeYT if you really read my comments i did mentioned that mindanao has "ALMOST" the same demographics as sabah. i am aware the demographics are not entirely similar, nonetheless the island itself boast a "larger" number of muslims compared to the other parts of the phills.

@fazzlan89 I just pointed out the fact that the majority of Mindanao itself is seeing progress contrary to popular belief. To answer your original question of assurance, all one needs to do is to work with the government instead of taking up arms for their own agendas, like the rest of the island has done. It's their choice to fight yes, but surely they shouldn't blame the government for what they're going through now. Other parts of the island chose differently and they're better off for it.

@PedroMakabayan North Borneo don't have Sultan, native do have leader but not sultan. Not even 1 native tribe recognize Sultan of Brunei nor Sultan of Sulu as their master. Native tribe is the master of the land and they taking care of it for thousand years now. Ever heard of outsider being chop their head for trespassing their land. That the native tribe of North Borneo. Today we united and formed Sabah and Malaysia. If you talking about Malaya, nowadays they are richer as we are.

British is the only one who qualify to correct the history, unless you suggesting that the native break loose from Sultan of Brunei or Sultan of Sulu before British come. But, it isn't the case. British build settlement, stay and colonize North Borneo. They know the situation here. They even studied the natives. The Chinese tradesmen record isn't necessarily correct in this case as they only come to trade with the coastal settlement.

Let's be very careful in our move. Malaysia cannot just give up Sabah easily without war because for them its their territory. We can go to international courts because one way of claiming it is at least you have historical evidence you owned it and good thing we have the documents as proof. Let us just wait for generations to come until our armed forces will be strong enough to confront Malaysia then we can resurrect Operation Merdeka.

In this matter, it is between British and the Spanish. That's why the large ottoman empire had been carved out based on their agreement with the european colonial powers.

@fazzlan89 as far as I know, the connection of the colonist, on this case, the Spaniards, are quite small, since the territory (SABAH) was recognized as a Philippine claim way back even before 1658, the sultanate of Sabah, himself actually ceded the northern and eastern portion of sabah to the sultanate of Sulu, and Palawan to Spain. The connection of the British Empire was recognized when they leased the territory to the Philippines in exchange of tributes, which means they just rented it.peace

There are colonial remnants all over the islands to show that "bangsamoro" vision is a small part of the whole territory. It's relatively peaceful and progressive in teh majority of Mindanao. It's not like the media say. Ironicaly, most of the conflict and strife are happening in areas closest to the Malaysian borders, think on that.

@PedroMakabayan North Borneo don't have Sultan, native do have leader but not sultan. Not even 1 native tribe recognize Sultan of Brunei nor Sultan of Sulu as their master. British is the only one who qualify to correct the history, unless you suggesting that the native break loose from Sultan of Brunei or Sultan of Sulu before British come. But, it isn't the case. British build settlement, stay and colonize North Borneo. They know the situation here. They even studied the natives. The Chinese tradesmen record isn't necessarily correct in this case as they only come to trade with the coastal settlement.

Badjao are nomadic fishermen (I'm talking about after and even before British come to Sabah).
