Glad you read it, and you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Of course you know that whether we are impressed with something or not doesn't make it any less true, if indeed it is true.
I enjoyed our conversation and I pray someday you'll understand God's kindness that has been extended to you through His Son.
1. I honestly do not know if a picture of Hitler was originally included in the first printing. The one handed out, however, does not have a picture of him. There is a section in the introduction that quotes Hitler regarding his conclusion's about Darwinian evolution.
2. The fist printing of the book was an abridged version, which was missing a couple of chapters. These were not part of the mass distribution of the book. The copies handed out on Nov 18th were not missing any chapters.
Soooo is the alternative here that God created man from dust and woman from his rib? That something came from nothing!?! Is that really what I'm supposed to believe. That *POOF* and we were here?!
I don't understand why atheists are accused of being closed minded when Christians are claiming their religion is right and the only true way to salvation/not burning in an eternal pit of fire...So if I get this right, I can sin however much I want and then (honestly) repent and go to heaven???
God created man from the dust of the earth...so no, man did not come from nothing, he came from God. Unfortunately, you're forced to hang on to the THEORY that everything came from nothing...POOF...bizarre indeed.
When you find the TRUTH, you become close-minded to fairy tales such as atheism and evolution because there is no need to look any further. You, however, are still looking, that's why you continue to desperately try to prove there is no God, because it justifies your lifestyle.
Woah there, I'm not trying to prove there is no God. That is impossible. You do realize you can still believe in God and still believe in evolution, right? Evolution has nothing to do with the origin of life. I don't understand why you're clinging to once specific holy book when there are very many world religions and they can't all be right...I am trying to come to a peace though that dyed-in-the-wool religious people will not look at any evidence against anything they believe. I'm sorry.
Actually, you're right, the THEORY of evolution has nothing to do with the origin of life, because God created it.
You are correct in that all world "religions" cannot be right. In fact, we can all be wrong, but we BOTH cannot be right. I don't cling to a holy book, I cling to the God who wrote the Book.
As I mentioned in a previous comment, it's not that true Christians won't look at any evidence against anything we believe, it just that when one finds TRUTH, the search is over.
Ok, first you keep saying the THEORY of evolution as if it's "just a theory." How about the theory of gravity? The germ theory of disease? These are things we hold to be true, though they are just "theories."
I understand you think you have the truth, and that's all well and ok...but why can't you understand the truth comes to different people in different ways? Other religions may be "true" also. Why are you impeding on science education? You can be Christian and "believe" in evolution.
He is eternal...a concept too big for us who live within that which He created, time, to fully grasp. From now on, if you want your comments posted, please type His name with a capital G...thanks!
@preachonministries You didn't answer my first question, why do you assume that if one believes in evolution, then they believe that everything came from nothing?
I don't recall saying that, and one can choose to believe that there is a Creator and yet still hold onto evolutionary ideology. An atheist, however, chooses to believe there is no Creator, thus suppressing the Truth, and therefore holds on to an evolutionary position...believing everything came from nothing.
How about you cheezombie, do YOU believe there is a Creator?
@preachonministries I do not believe in a creator, and I also do not believe that everything came from nothing. I believe that the universe is eternal, just as you believe that God is eternal.
@preachonministries I didn't claim to "know" the universe is eternal, i claimed to believe it. Just like you can't claim to "know" that God created the universe. And if anyone does claim to know how the universe came to be, they're just arrogant. But anyway, it's part of the idea of a "Big Crunch". That's the idea that gravity eventually pulls everything back together again, and who knows, another Big Bang?
@preachonministries It's the idea that the Big Bang and Crunch weren't exactly the start to the universe, but rather processes it normally goes through.
And can you sin however much you want? Sure, but God knows your heart, so if you're claiming that you'll "repent" before you die, then you're certainly not fooling anyone with your hypocrisy.
"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?"
Right, but the fact still stands you can do unlimited acts of terror and GENUINELY repent and still go to heaven. And who wouldn't if there was a genuine fear of eternal hellfire?! What kind of "justice" is that?? I'll live my life morally for the sake of humanity, not because of an ancient middle eastern myth. Fairy tales indeed.
A person can commit horrible acts and truly repent and put their trust in the Savior. Your problem is you think God owes you something, so you look at Him through clouded lenses.
And for the record, you are not the authority on whether the Bible is true or not, nor am I. Calling it a fairy tale doesn't make it a fairy tale. Just like calling evolution a fact doesn't make it a fact. Me saying the Bible is true doesn't make it true..are its claims supported? Absolutely!
No, no, I can't think God owes me something if I don't believe in God. Like I said, I prefer to live my life for the sake of humanity and use reason. By your standards, I have not found the "truth" but I would be doing myself a disservice if I did. Like you said, the search is over when one finds the truth. I think it's much more exciting to not think I know the whole truth. For example, we don't know everything about the universe. It's uncomprehendingly big, you don't need God to "see" that.
Atheists are reacting to Ray's edition of Origin of Species the way a radical Muslim responds to a cartoon of Muhammed. Could it be that "Origin" is the atheist Bible and Darwin is their prophet? I think atheists are more religious than they would like to admit.
No, atheists are not reacting the way Muslims did to those cartoons. Please tell us who is calling for the death of Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron because of this. Your comparison is beyond stupid.
Sorry, evolutionists aren't open minded at all to the lame brained retarded creationist junk. Quite open minded to all evidence creationists can produce supporting their theory. To date, there's exactly zero evidence.
robertmike57, it doesn't matter what evidence anyone gives you, because you already suppress the truth, so no matter what anyone says, you're not willing to put aside your presuppositions and bend your knee to your Creator. Would YOU be willing to admit if you were wrong?
So please don't offer overused retreaded Ray Comfort accusations...he's not the one you will answer to. But again, thanks for hanging around and watching the video!
@preachonministries You also lack is any evidence there is a God. God was only a tool used as leverage to justify slavery in Paul's writings, just as God's a tool for you to exert authority by proxy with that "bend your knee" routine.
Keep trying robertmike57, but the burden of proof is on you. My proof is creation, and you already know that everything around you did not come from "nothing." Your conscience knows this, but as I said earlier, you supress the truth because without God, you can justify your lifestyle and live like there isn't a God.
With all due respect, you nor I are the authority on whether God exists are not.
"For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them." (Romans 1:19)
This is about evolution, not atheism. The burden of proof is on you. The evidence points towards evolution. Ray Comfort's introduction does nothing to debunk evolution. All he tries to do is make people afraid of Darwin. Fear is all he, and people like you have.
I have no fear cheezombie...and the evolution arguments are tired...and sorry, the evidence does NOT point towards evolution, it ALL points to a common Creator, who you will stand before when you take your last breath. Maybe it's your fear that keeps you from acknowledging that.
By the way, thanks for taking the time to watch the video!
I don't claim God doesn't exist, just that there is no presence of God here. There's nothing in this world that can't be explained by natural causes.
I live as a product of evolution, making my lifestyle similar in all respects to the people in fear of God. The argument something coming from nothing fails as God believers effectively claim God came from nothing. Anyway, none of that has anything to do with evolution.
Ray Comfort is a dishonest charlatan, typical of all religions.
Thanks for your comments again robertmike57...but since this isn't a Ray Comfort site, you'll have to take that up with him. He doesn't need me to defend anything he says. Thanks again for stopping by!
Ray Comfort does have a website/blog at raycomfortfood.blogspot and a Youtube channel where dissenting comments are censored out. Little surprised and give you credit allowing dissenting comments. Quite unchristian
BTW, I found was able to learn that Ray Comfort did provide a complete reprint of Origin of Species.
The scientists claim this was after an uproar where Comfort was going to exclude 4 chapters. I find that a bit hard to believe, given the timeline of reported events.
Glad you read it, and you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Of course you know that whether we are impressed with something or not doesn't make it any less true, if indeed it is true.

By the way, you can read the entire 50-page introduction by going to the Living Waters website and clicking on the Origins Press Kit link.

I have 2 questions about what you were passing out:
1. Did Ray Comfort include a picture of Adolf Hitler in his Darwin introduction? If no, was it originally included?
2. Were all the chapters of Origin of Species included in the book you were distributing? If yes, were they all orignally included?
I haven't followed that closely this Ray Comfort promotion, but I have read some strange things raising these 2 questions.
