@tgillspy A bit advice, when you result to calling people names just because they don't agree with your ideology, it shows that your position is indefensible. Hmm! "I know that I have..."
Hmm! A lot of "I's" in that last comment. It kind of reminds me of that vers in Isaiah 14:13-14. You know, the one about how "I will make myself like the Most High?"
@tgillspy Calvinists are mindless robots? You do know that robots are autonomous, right? So in reality, those who worship their self-will, are the robots. It's a shame that you don't even know what free-will really means.
@tgillspy As a believer in messiah whom you claim to believe on.You should know this-that the teaching of reformed calvinism is actually anti-thetical to biblical faith which has been revealed to us Jesus Christ the Son of God.Who teaches us, that we must be born again then we can follow him in the faith. The gospel of christ from the Lord Jesus christ was never offered to only an elect few.You should know and understand this. I do have a great love for the jewish people and I know he loves you.
@tgillspy "The gospel of the Lord the Lord Jesus Christ was not ever offered only for an elect few."
The Gospel is NOT an offering, it's a proclamation. It's saves God's elect, and condemns the reprobate. And if Calvinism is so "anti-thetical", then why was it Calvinists that brought us bibles such as the Tyndale, the Geneva, and the King James? Why were most of the U.S. Founding Fathers Calvinists(Presbyterians, Congregationalists, etc)?
You need to correctly represent TULIP before you can make such an accusation. So far you have not done so. It says we are all born sinners and we are saved against our will (because no one can or will desire Christ before God changes their heart of stone to a heart of flesh), which is a humble teaching that only places God higher and brings man lower. But it's not true that people "stay saved against their will." It BECOMES their will to follow Christ. That's why we choose Him.
the good news is that "once saved" you are accounted by god to be passed over for jesus sake. no matter what you may do from there on. think you that god numbers the hairs of the head but knows not the sin he sees covered by blood? the bad news.. jesus still has the right of first refusal even saying some will come saying you know me and Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Lastly I would like to say that there is amazing invitation from God to men in Isaiah 55. God says that all that are thirsty must come to Him. And that we should seek Him and call on Him. The only way to do that is out of your heart and free will. Calvinism does not refute that. It is only saying that we are not able to do that before that sovereign work of the Holy Spirit in us.
Total depravity does say that we WILL always sin but that is before we are Christians. Before that we are hostile to God in our minds and "without faith it is impossible to please Him" (Hebrews 11:6) Also Romans 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Calvinism does teach that. This is the doctrine of regeneration - being a new creature in Christ. We have the power over sin after Christ set us free from it but not before - we are slaves to sin then.
I believe TULIP teaches that we are saved because of the sovereign will and grace of our God. TULIP doesn't teach that you should not exercise your will to be saved. That is absolutely heretical. Even though it is the work of the Holy Spirit in us - it is us that we have to repent and it is us that we have to believe. The problem is that we are NOT ABLE(have the capacity) to do that of our own - God must give us first new heart and make us born from above and change us by His Spirit and grace.
It's fine for me. People do have free will. But the scripture is true that we are slaves to sin. Unless the Son set us free, we are still dead in trespasses and sins.TULIP shows us victory -the victory of GOD not of man.
How can spiritually dead person experience true believing faith?Unless being regenerated first? How can a heart that hates God and loves sin becomes the next day a heart that loves God and hates sin? This is a supernatural work of God in us.
True! People have free will. The problem is that it always chooses to disobey and hate God. Calvinism teaches that even ALL men are slaves to sin(hating God and living for the highest of reasons - US), God graciously chose to regenerate some of those men (give them new spiritual life (because we are spiritually dead) and a new heart of flesh (we all had stone hearts). After being regenerated and with new hearts, now we have the potential (ability) to choose to obey God out of our own free will.
I'm pro-TULIP but your proclamation of the gospel should not be "wait for God to save you" a la Paul Washer, but rather, "repent and believe the good news of Jesus Christ." Or perhaps; "trust in Christ and confess your sins." I would also affirm, "Repent and be Baptized." I don't like this "wait on God" emphasis. God doesn't need to be waited on. If you are repenting and believing you HAVE been born again.
I do. I believe that TULIP is a faithful expression of biblical truth. My point was that I have theological agreements with him I'm not trying to slice him down, I just wanted him to talk about salvation in a biblical way.
God is awesome! i used to hate him, but then he called me , smashed into my stone heart and presented me with an offer i could not refuse, and now i love him and will folllow him until the end!
HA HA HA!!! Laugh at the joke about the Sinner's Prayer!!! You Calvinists and your TULIP are JUST AS BIG of a joke as the Sinner's Prayer. If I wrote a book, I wouldn't need some idiot to come up with something STUPID like TULIP to explain what I wrote. I guess I am just SMARTER than YOUR "GOD". I was a Christian until I was about 20 or 21 years old. Then I became curious about why religion just doesn't add up. It's time for YOU to do the SAME. It's time for YOU to laugh at REAL jokes.
My comment that you just replied to is WAY more educational than ANY religious scripture as a whole. Like I said, why would you need TULIP if God didn't include it in His "perfect" Word? God can still SAVE me? Listen, kid, if God could save me I would have discovered this wonderful news without YOUR help. I've searched very HARD and used LOGICAL THOUGHT for a LONG TIME. I know you mean well. You are just trying to spread goodness. Believe it or not, so am I.
You doest speaketh loud words, thus betraying your lack of logical thought. You need a calm disposition and scientific training. Atheism is an emotional religion, dwelling in obscenities, mud slinging and hate. Ye must reject that emotional state and come to reality.
nope. total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace and perseverance of the saints are all backed up with the Bible...the sinners prayer on the hand, isn't Biblical at all. You saying you are smarter than God is blasphemy. And no, I won't do the same...why would I want to end up like you?
You don't GET it. Let's say TULIP is right. Let's say the Sinner's Prayer is wrong. The fact that someone has to explain that TULIP is right shows that "God's" book has flaws. It shows LOGICAL people that the Bible was written by different men over the course of centuries. The fact that the Sinner's Prayer even exists proves just how gullible people can be by believing what the preacher says without actually studying the Bible. Free yourself from unnecessary guilt and enjoy your life!!!
yeah, I get what you're saying. I just don't buy into it. Sorry. Isn't the sinners prayer (as unbiblical as it is) also something you have to explain? God can even use sinners prayers for His glory. I said one when I was around 6 or so....
You're missing the point. You do realize we're not supposed to just take whatever a preacher says and believe it, but rather study it ourselves? That's the problem, people believe anything. That's one of the ways false doctrine is is so easily spread.
And yeah, God *did* use many different men to write the Bible. It's still 100% infallible and inspired by God.
So, yes. some people listen to whatever a preacher says, which is bad if he is a false teacher. And yes, God used many men to write the Bible.
If you READ the Bible, you can easily see, if God has so opened your eyes that the TULIP is right. I wasn't even brought to believe Calvinism by being told it was Calvinism, or by the TULIP, only thing my friends used to tell me was the Bible.
I can agree with you on the tulip thing but I have to disagree with you on the sinners prayer. It is biblical. Jesus says that you must be born again, paul says if you call on the name of the Lord you will be saved, Paul also says "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. Al th esinners prayer is is just that confessing and asking to be born again.
true. lol, that's not what I'm against. I'm talking about the "do you want Jesus in your heart?" and the person says yes, just cause they think it will make Jesus happy and they don't want hell. Then that's the end of the story. That's all I meant.:) Technically, I was 'saved' by a sinners prayer when I was 6. So I think it's okay if you're sincere....and it's not just a flippant thing you say. :)
Exodus 35:1-2 " Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, 'These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do: For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.'" If that is 100% INFALLIBLE and if you have EVER done ANY type of work on SATURDAY, YOU MUST DIE.
The debate between SuperGoldtop and innocenceagain is simply FURTHER evidence of the Bible being a POORLY written instructional book. I could write a WAY better book. Saying THAT is NOT blasphemous. In order for that to be BLASPHEMOUS, the God of the Bible would actually have to EXIST. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that a God so powerful and intelligent would inspire such RIDICULOUS nonsense.
I didn't realize I was 'debating SuperGoldtop, but thanks for letting me know I am!
SuperGoldtop just said they didn't agree that confessing and believing were unbiblical, and I simply clarified my point. I'm not even sure we disagree.
Typical Christian reasoning: "I am gonna reply about lotanddaughters' use of the word 'debate' instead of letting the truth seep into my brainwashed mind." 1+1=2... I bet that you and SuperGoldtop see eye to eye on THAT. Why can't God write a consistent message that EVERYBODY can see eye to eye on? Maybe the Bible is a collection of writings composed by different MEN(not an all-knowing God) with their own agendas. Doesn't that make more sense? It does to anyone who isn't afraid of the truth.
you obviously don't care whether or not you blaspheme. You don't even think God exists; this tells me you aren't wanting me to answer because you sincerely want to learn about the truth of God, but rather because you want to mock it. So it doesn't really matter if I answer you are not. If you have a hobby of blaspheming God, you're pretty much a lost cause.
God *did* give us a consistent message....you just cannot see that because you are not His. You have no spiritual discernment so you cannot accept it. (1 Cor. 2:14). You don't even want to understand it. You just want to come on here to irritate Christians and try to make a blasphemous mockery of God's word.
Goodbye. Keep up the belief in YOUR version of a fairy tale. I'm sure SuperGoldtop will remain steadfast in HIS version. In HIS mind he "KNOWS" you are wrong. In your mind you "KNOW" he is wrong. Any RATIONAL thinker will read our posts and KNOW that I am right. You can't HANDLE the truth!!! LOL!!! HA HA HA, you IDIOT!!!
do you think its a "RATIONAL" thinker or one whose eyes have been opened by Grace?? Let's not attribute our understanding of God's Gospel to reason but to grace alone!!!
The rational thinker is one who uses logic to question anything one hears or reads or sees. I understand that the Gospel is not the message of an all-knowing, all-loving God. The Gospel was written by different men who contradict each other. Each one of them wants the reader to think that their message is from God Himself so that the reader obeys the teachings of the deceiver. I wasn't there when O.J. Simpson murdered those people, but I KNOW HE DID IT. I know the Bible is not the word of God.
He never said that to ME. I have never heard him say ANYTHING. That's okay. God will let me suffer in Hell for eternity for not finding the weak evidence that would cause me to believe in Him. Wait, there IS hope. God has changed His policies in the past. That proves there is an EXCELLENT chance that God will take me to heaven, even if I have to wait for the policy to change.
Reason becomes a whore the minute it becomes contrary to the Word of God. God reasons with those who will follow Him. You don't follow Him so your reasoning against Him is a whore, like an unfaithful husband cheats on his faithful wife the woman he is cheating with is a whore. When you reason against God and take your reasoning against His Word, you are cheating on God and have become faithless with you reason, thus making it a whore. And that makes you insensible.
sure...but wouldn't you say that the ability to reason properly, especially in light of total depravity, is also a gift of grace and a restored ability after the fall?
My only point is, we don't come to recognize the truthfulness of doctrines by proper reasoning but by grace as well.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason, together, saith the Lord,.... These words stand not in connection either with the preceding or following, but are to be read in a parenthesis, and are thrown in for the sake of the small remnant God had left among this wicked people, in order to comfort them, being distressed with sin.
These, seeing their sins in their dreadful colours, and with all their aggravating circumstances, were ready to conclude that they were unpardonable; and, seeing God as an angry Judge, dared not come nigh him, but stood at a distance, fearing and expecting his vengeance to fall upon them, and therefore put away the promises, and refused to be comforted;
when the Lord was pleased to encourage them to draw near to him, and come and reason with him: not at the bar of his justice; there is no reasoning with him there; none can contend with him, or answer him, one of a thousand; if he marks iniquity in strict justice, none can stand before him; there is no entering the lists with him upon the foot of justice, or at its bar: but at the bar of mercy, at the throne of grace;
there the righteous may dispute with him from his declarations and promises, as well as come with boldness to him; and at the altar and sacrifice of Christ, and at the fountain of his blood: here sinners may reason with him from the virtue and efficacy of his blood and sacrifice; and from the Lord's proclamation of grace and mercy through him; and from his promises to forgive repenting and confessing sinners:
and here God reasons with sensible souls from his own covenant promises and proclamations to forgive sin; from the aboundings of his grace over abounding sin; from the righteousness of Christ to justify, his blood to cleanse from sin, and his sacrifice to atone for it; and from the end of his coming into the world to save the chief of sinners: saying, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. -- John Gill
If the words of John Gill are so great, maybe God should have included a book by John Gill as part of His biblical canon. Why does John Gill need to explain God's "perfect" word?
Are you really this dense? God's Word is perfect and it is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. So many false teachers are our there teaching heresy and false doctrines that it can be confusing. God has appointed some men to be teachers to simply clarify His Word. Another thing is historical content. If you don't know the conditions or traditions back in the time of say....Noah, you can learn them from teachers and it puts the Bible and it's stories into proper perspective.
YOU are one of the FALSE teachers. I am one of the TRUE teachers. YOUR false doctrine is the one that is confusing. MY doctrine is the simple TRUTH. You can't HANDLE the TRUTH! LOL!
Until you answer my questions I will not say another word to you. I am not here to argue. Either answer them, or don't talk to me again because I will not respond until you do.
If you want to call my belief in God, fine, I don't care. But I'm not the One you'll answer to.
The fact that there has NEVER been a world wide flood during the history of humans puts the story in the proper perspective. The fact that all of the marine life would have been wiped out because of the mixing of fresh water with salt water puts the story in proper perspective. The Epic of Gilgamesh predates the biblical flood myth and puts the story into proper perspective.
You know, we get it. You don't believe, you don't want God, you're an atheist. So why are you here? To try and de-convert us? You're wasting your time. Why are you fighting so hard against Someone you don't believe in?
ould it be that deep down inside you know He does exist? Could it be that you deny Him because you hate him? Yes, I think perhaps you do believe but you hate him so much so you come to CHRISTIAN videos to rant and rave and throw temper tantrums at the people of God in defiance of Him.
It's like you're coming here shaking your fist at God telling Him you hate Him through His people. God knows you hate Him. And you are His enemy. And it is a fearful thing to be in the hands of an angry God.
No. I am just telling people the truth. I am trying to free them from unnecessary guilt so they can enjoy their lives. I am granting them REAL freedom and it is WAY better than the make-believe freedom that Jesus supposedly provides. Pray for me. I will continue to THINK for YOU.
Are you in defiance of Allah? Do you hate Zeus? Deep down inside I think you KNOW that Buddha is Supreme. "Leave your heresy at ONCE. Come to the one and only TRUE religion even though it is FAR from the OLDEST religion!"
The Living God, has a command, "Thou shall have no other gods besides me." The second is like it, "Thou shall not bow down to an image to worship." That covers just about every religion on the planet, including yours. Repent or perish.
You better be right. If the Muslims are right, then you are an infidel with your false beliefs. If the Jews and their Ten Commandments are right, then you are worshipping a false idol in Christ. If ONE of these groups is right, then you are going to BURN IN HELL.
"I was a Christian until I was about 20 or 21 years old."
No you weren't. You were never a Christian. Not a REAL Christian. If you had been a REAL Christian, you would have NEVER turned away. You just THOUGHT you were a Christian. And thinking you're a Christian doesn't make you one. A lot of people think they're Christians but they're not.
When Jesus saves you He KEEPS you saved and you will never turn away.
When unbelievers say this, that they were Christians, they think it gives them some validity that God doesn't exist. But He does exist. :)
"See, I was a Christian but I found I was too intelligent to believe in a fairy tale and became a better person because I'm no longer disillusioned by believing in something that doesn't exist."
Yeah...I've heard it before. It doesn't make you look more intelligent. Trust me.
It's simple reasoning, once again. The Bible is NOT the word of an all-loving, all-knowing God. If you can't see reality, good luck with your idiocy. LOL!!!
Wrong sinner, your sin has led you to reject the authority of God in your life.
The Bible says that, 'The fool has said in his heart there is no God.' That word is 'moros' I will let you figure out what that word means for yourself. If you need help, ask I will give.
How do you a finite being, expect you can judge an infinite being?
Jesus said, 'Except you repent, you will all likewise perish.'
So what? That is even more evidence against you. God sent His Son born of a virgin to live perfectly and offer Himself as a sacrifice the Father was willing to receive in your place. Yet, you denounce, mock, and sneer at the only One who can give you eternal salvation in heaven. Therefore, because you have rejected so great a salvation in Jesus Christ, you are utterly condemned and without hope after death. You will cry like a baby for mercy on Judgment day, but none will be given.
God sent His Son. How many years did it take for Him to send His Son? How many years supposedly passed from the creation in Genesis to the Gospels? Even if you believe in the Bible you have to realize the possibility that God can create a NEW sacrifice and maybe even a NEW book that let's people like ME get into heaven. I don't deserve to be mercilessly cast to an eternal suffering because God withheld evidence of His existence.
So you don't have a real reason to reject God. You just love your sins more than you love the Savior. This is the darkness you live, you are without excuse.
I plead with you to get it right with Jesus Christ. You are responsible, He offers mercy.
This ENTIRE list of replies started with MY reply to someone ELSE'S comment about laughing at the weak "Sinner's Prayer Joke". I think if you read all of my replies you will find that I have an EXCELLENT reason to reject your "God". I would trade my "sins"(LOL) for eternal bliss WAY more willingly than I would trade one dollar for a million dollars, if this RIDICULOUS idea was the truth. I've thought long and hard. You are not thinking hard enough. That's fine. Live in your fairy tale world.
A real SMART Christian who was brought up that way is the most frequent Christian that WILL turn away. If what you are saying is true, then a Christian is the only type of believer that is REAL. According to you, when atheists, Muslims and Jews die, we will have to answer to God. When God judges all of us, we will know that we were all wrong and at that moment will no longer be atheists, Muslims or Jews. We were never REAL atheists, Muslims or Jews in the FIRST place...according to YOU.
Little you know of the true and Living God. You must be born again. Being brought up in this or that tradition of men will only keep you on the wide road to hellfire.
All I know is that the ignorant, psychopathic God that is described in the Bible cannot possibly exist. Anyone who believes the Bible to be 100% true is an IDIOT.
I have a strong desire to share the gospel. I think that witnessing to people on the streets would be an awesome thing to do, however, I am an introvert. I have no clue how you can just walk up to a random person and just talk to them. I am not ashamed of the gospel, I just get extremely nervous when talking to people I don't really know. My words often begin to trip up and I start to just want to get away from the situation. Some help would be much appreciated!
This is why I brought this point up in my first post. Read Eph 4:11, evangelism is a gift of the spirit and not everyone is given this gift (as far as I can tell). The fact that you're not ashamed (when it's brought up at work or something, I'm assuming) is a good sign. Not everyone is a street preacher.
Evangelism is a "Gift" for some people but all are called to be evangelist. True it's harder for some but no excuse to not share the Gospel with everyone you meet.
Anihilus I suggest you look into Way of the Master and check out some of their stuff, that will fire you up.
Try just talking to your family and friends that are believers and that are reformed. Just talk about the Good News and how you stand on it only. That way the next time you are just talking to someone that God has not Called yet, you maybe able to just share/plant a seed and God will Call them. just my two cents
Dude, you had me with the sinners prayer! I bout fell out of my chair LOL
One issue: You say if someone doesn't have a PASSION to share the gospel they may not be saved. I think some qualification should be stated. There are many gifts given by the Spirit. One is evangelism (Eph 4:11), and I believe not all have this gift (for street preaching and whatnot). A truer sign of false conversion would be whether they are ashamed or not to mention Him when a door opens
Ironclad that's not true. Sure it comes easier to some people but all are commanded to share the Gospel to the ends of the world. The great commission was not just for Evangelist. You should share the Gospel because you care about people and love God.
If I understand you correctly, you're saying that if someone doesn't stand on street corners shouting Christ that their soul is in danger of the wrath of God.
This is not so, my friend. Sharing the Gospel is a privilege, and a true Christian will not deny their Lord when the opportunity arises, but evangelism is not evidence of salvation. It is not a fruit of the Spirit. It is a gift, as Paul explicitly states in Eph 4:11. Not all are given this gift.
No...the gift of the EVANGELIST in mentioned in Eph 4:11, and it is speaking of one who SOLELY devotes themselves to that work. Nevertheless, we are commanded to share the Gospel with all. It doesn't necessitate standing on street corners - it can be just talking with someone one-on-one...
Do you like to share Numbers 31:17-19?

@tgillspy "The gospel of the Lord the Lord Jesus Christ was not ever offered only for an elect few."
The Gospel is NOT an offering, it's a proclamation. It's saves God's elect, and condemns the reprobate. And if Calvinism is so "anti-thetical", then why was it Calvinists that brought us bibles such as the Tyndale, the Geneva, and the King James? Why were most of the U.S. Founding Fathers Calvinists(Presbyterians, Congregationalists, etc)?
That doesn't sound "anti-thetical" to me.

S1nApS3 2 years ago
It's fine for me. People do have free will. But the scripture is true that we are slaves to sin. Unless the Son set us free, we are still dead in trespasses and sins.TULIP shows us victory -the victory of GOD not of man.
How can spiritually dead person experience true believing faith?Unless being regenerated first? How can a heart that hates God and loves sin becomes the next day a heart that loves God and hates sin? This is a supernatural work of God in us.
we understand free will differently.
S1nApS3 2 years ago

Why are you pro TULIP? Why not just believe what the Bible says?
johnmcglone4 2 years ago
I do. I believe that TULIP is a faithful expression of biblical truth. My point was that I have theological agreements with him I'm not trying to slice him down, I just wanted him to talk about salvation in a biblical way.

Why are you pro Bible? Why not just believe what is believable?
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
The Bible is super natural, I suppose you just believe in what you can see, taste, smell, and hear. Is that true?
I believe that the sure proof that God exists is because the impossibility of the contrary.
What is believable to you?

LOL at the sinners prayer. I thought for a second you were actually serious...haha. nice one. :P

It's time for YOU to laugh at REAL jokes.
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
I am laughing because God can still save you, despite your mocking him.
DefendingCalvinism 2 years ago
My comment that you just replied to is WAY more educational than ANY religious scripture as a whole. Like I said, why would you need TULIP if God didn't include it in His "perfect" Word? God can still SAVE me? Listen, kid, if God could save me I would have discovered this wonderful news without YOUR help. I've searched very HARD and used LOGICAL THOUGHT for a LONG TIME. I know you mean well. You are just trying to spread goodness. Believe it or not, so am I.
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
You doest speaketh loud words, thus betraying your lack of logical thought. You need a calm disposition and scientific training. Atheism is an emotional religion, dwelling in obscenities, mud slinging and hate. Ye must reject that emotional state and come to reality.

nope. total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace and perseverance of the saints are all backed up with the Bible...the sinners prayer on the hand, isn't Biblical at all. You saying you are smarter than God is blasphemy. And no, I won't do the same...why would I want to end up like you?
innocenceagain 2 years ago
You don't GET it. Let's say TULIP is right. Let's say the Sinner's Prayer is wrong. The fact that someone has to explain that TULIP is right shows that "God's" book has flaws. It shows LOGICAL people that the Bible was written by different men over the course of centuries. The fact that the Sinner's Prayer even exists proves just how gullible people can be by believing what the preacher says without actually studying the Bible. Free yourself from unnecessary guilt and enjoy your life!!!
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
yeah, I get what you're saying.
That's one of the ways false doctrine is is so easily spread.
innocenceagain 2 years ago
And yeah, God *did* use many different men to write the Bible. It's still 100% infallible and inspired by God.
So, yes. some people listen to whatever a preacher says, which is bad if he is a false teacher. And yes, God used many men to write the Bible.
If you READ the Bible, you can easily see, if God has so opened your eyes that the TULIP is right. I wasn't even brought to believe Calvinism by being told it was Calvinism, or by the TULIP, only thing my friends used to tell me was the Bible.
innocenceagain 2 years ago
I can agree with you on the tulip thing but I have to disagree with you on the sinners prayer. It is biblical. Jesus says that you must be born again, paul says if you call on the name of the Lord you will be saved, Paul also says "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. Al th esinners prayer is is just that confessing and asking to be born again.
SuperGoldtop 2 years ago
true. lol, that's not what I'm against. :)
Hope that clears it up!

Exodus 35:1-2 " Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, 'These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do: For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.'" If that is 100% INFALLIBLE and if you have EVER done ANY type of work on SATURDAY, YOU MUST DIE.
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
The debate between SuperGoldtop and innocenceagain is simply FURTHER evidence of the Bible being a POORLY written instructional book. I could write a WAY better book. Saying THAT is NOT blasphemous. In order for that to be BLASPHEMOUS, the God of the Bible would actually have to EXIST. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that a God so powerful and intelligent would inspire such RIDICULOUS nonsense.
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
I didn't realize I was 'debating SuperGoldtop, but thanks for letting me know I am!
SuperGoldtop just said they didn't agree that confessing and believing were unbiblical, and I simply clarified my point. I'm not even sure we disagree.
That's a debate?
innocenceagain 2 years ago
Typical Christian reasoning: "I am gonna reply about lotanddaughters' use of the word 'debate' instead of letting the truth seep into my brainwashed mind." 1+1=2... I bet that you and SuperGoldtop see eye to eye on THAT. Why can't God write a consistent message that EVERYBODY can see eye to eye on? Maybe the Bible is a collection of writings composed by different MEN(not an all-knowing God) with their own agendas. Doesn't that make more sense? It does to anyone who isn't afraid of the truth.
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
you obviously don't care whether or not you blaspheme. You don't even think God exists; this tells me you aren't wanting me to answer because you sincerely want to learn about the truth of God, but rather because you want to mock it. So it doesn't really matter if I answer you are not. If you have a hobby of blaspheming God, you're pretty much a lost cause.
innocenceagain 2 years ago
God *did* give us a consistent message....you just cannot see that because you are not His. You have no spiritual discernment so you cannot accept it. (1 Cor. 2:14). You don't even want to understand it. You just want to come on here to irritate Christians and try to make a blasphemous mockery of God's word.
So I'm done with you. Goodbye.
innocenceagain 2 years ago
LOL!!! HA HA HA, you IDIOT!!!
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
do you think its a "RATIONAL" thinker or one whose eyes have been opened by Grace?? Let's not attribute our understanding of God's Gospel to reason but to grace alone!!!
prchdaword 2 years ago
The rational thinker is one who uses logic to question anything one hears or reads or sees. I understand that the Gospel is not the message of an all-knowing, all-loving God. The Gospel was written by different men who contradict each other. Each one of them wants the reader to think that their message is from God Himself so that the reader obeys the teachings of the deceiver. I wasn't there when O.J. Simpson murdered those people, but I KNOW HE DID IT. I know the Bible is not the word of God.

God reasons with sensible souls? I thought reason was a whore? You are nothing but another religious lunatic.
lotanddaughters 2 years ago
Reason becomes a whore the minute it becomes contrary to the Word of God. God reasons with those who will follow Him. You don't follow Him so your reasoning against Him is a whore, like an unfaithful husband cheats on his faithful wife the woman he is cheating with is a whore. When you reason against God and take your reasoning against His Word, you are cheating on God and have become faithless with you reason, thus making it a whore. And that makes you insensible.
KarensFaith 2 years ago
sure...but wouldn't you say that the ability to reason properly, especially in light of total depravity, is also a gift of grace and a restored ability after the fall?
My only point is, we don't come to recognize the truthfulness of doctrines by proper reasoning but by grace as well.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason, together, saith the Lord,.... These words stand not in connection either with the preceding or following, but are to be read in a parenthesis, and are thrown in for the sake of the small remnant God had left among this wicked people, in order to comfort them, being distressed with sin.
KarensFaith 2 years ago
These, seeing their sins in their dreadful colours, and with all their aggravating circumstances, were ready to conclude that they were unpardonable; and, seeing God as an angry Judge, dared not come nigh him, but stood at a distance, fearing and expecting his vengeance to fall upon them, and therefore put away the promises, and refused to be comforted;

lotanddaughters 2 years ago
Are you really this dense? God's Word is perfect and it is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. So many false teachers are our there teaching heresy and false doctrines that it can be confusing. God has appointed some men to be teachers to simply clarify His Word. Another thing is historical content. If you don't know the conditions or traditions back in the time of say....Noah, you can learn them from teachers and it puts the Bible and it's stories into proper perspective.

A real SMART Christian who was brought up that way is the most frequent Christian that WILL turn away. If what you are saying is true, then a Christian is the only type of believer that is REAL. According to you, when atheists, Muslims and Jews die, we will have to answer to God. When God judges all of us, we will know that we were all wrong and at that moment will no longer be atheists, Muslims or Jews. We were never REAL atheists, Muslims or Jews in the FIRST place...according to YOU.

AnihiIus 2 years ago
Anihilus,
This is why I brought this point up in my first post. Read Eph 4:11, evangelism is a gift of the spirit and not everyone is given this gift (as far as I can tell). The fact that you're not ashamed (when it's brought up at work or something, I'm assuming) is a good sign. Not everyone is a street preacher.
God bless
ironclad452 2 years ago

Good vid otherwise
SDG
ironclad452 2 years ago
Ironclad that's not true. Sure it comes easier to some people but all are commanded to share the Gospel to the ends of the world. The great commission was not just for Evangelist. You should share the Gospel because you care about people and love God.
DefendingCalvinism 2 years ago
If I understand you correctly, you're saying that if someone doesn't stand on street corners shouting Christ that their soul is in danger of the wrath of God.
This is not so, my friend. Sharing the Gospel is a privilege, and a true Christian will not deny their Lord when the opportunity arises, but evangelism is not evidence of salvation. It is not a fruit of the Spirit. It is a gift, as Paul explicitly states in Eph 4:11. Not all are given this gift.
ironclad452 2 years ago
No...the gift of the EVANGELIST in mentioned in Eph 4:11, and it is speaking of one who SOLELY devotes themselves to that work. Nevertheless, we are commanded to share the Gospel with all. It doesn't necessitate standing on street corners - it can be just talking with someone one-on-one...
