I think the host coment that the alternitive to Chinas crackdown might be a dictatorship under religious (buddist) rule is unfounded. ( Thought I don't think it was his own.) In history we have seen that rulers in smaller, less powerful countries with dictators are instead supported and propped up by forgien powers when it is in that forgien powers interest. The goal of dictatorship is power...not to preserve a way of life.
The Han Chinese have a number of cases of political injustice to address, from the occupation of a sovereign people such as the Tibetan, to the repression and exploitation they administer on ethnic and cultural minorities or even their fellow countrymen. And by the looks of it, there is very little motivation for progress, when they can rather make financial gains.
We shouldn't be conducting business with them at all under the current circumstances.
Unfortunately no country can help tibet including usa
only way tibet can get liberate is when ppl of china(by that i mean han majority) revolt against PLA,communist party when they cross the line(may be due to corruption, apathy, nepotism, inequality etc)in future if at all they.
@kommireddypavan tibetans can help themselves by being a total pain in the ass for the chinese regime. not that i'm advocating it....but there is a way to get noticed & to piss off the chinese BIG TIME...piss them off enough to want them to seriously seek a solution to the tibet issue...but tibetans being predominantly buddhists can't resort to violence to get noticed(e.g. suicide bombing & blowing up hundreds of innocent people at crowded venues). that's the truth!
@HanZeroon - 2-year-old girl who was ignored by passers-by as she lay injured after being run over twice has been declared "brain dead" by doctors, because 16 chinese kept their nose out of others business.
I have been very keen to see a profane representative of the tibetan people instead of Tenzin Gyatso, the current Dalai-Lama, who mostly used his authority to promote his "spirituality" instead of actually helping his people.
@MardasMan .. maybe you mean secular instead of 'profane' ? . I think it is a lot to ask of one man who was groomed from childhood to be a spiritual leader to encompass everything required of him as a political leader - perhaps this has been a long time coming - but it certainly is a welcome development.
@pixelspring i agree..the dalai lama has done a lot for tibet(particularly getting tibet noticed internationally speaking)...but truth is that he's not a fit statesman. he is better when it comes to matters of spirituality...but all his life, he's been guided by advisors(who are lay people) when it comes to non-religious issues...but the time has come for a genuine tibetan leader who doesn't stick to cliques & has the know how to seek a better solution to the tibetan issue.
@MardasMan agree with you. With due respect to the Dalai Lama, he wasn't fit to be representing Tibet(politically speaking). He was too PC & always eager to appease esp considering his religious background. no wonder the chinese govt hardly take him seriously. Politics & Religion are not a good mix at all. the two should never be mixed. i hope, in the future, the Tibetans in exile & inside Tibet(if given a choice) continue to elect eligible lay people for political positions.
Tibetan piece of shit. You fucks can't get 10 serfs and now cry like bitches. Deal with it mother fuckers.
