I saw this MASSIVE show, fourth row, Dallas/ Reunion 1986. Fucking awesome. Cinderella opened. Dave had his shit wrapped tight. Steve, Billy and Greg. My God.
It was the eighties, and David Lee Roth was the Eminem of the day, video wise. Today, this video would never make it, cuz it would be considered racist, even though fun was being poked at everyone.
I have always thought this "song" was as shapeless as "Pound Cake," by the Hager Van Halen (or anything else by them). One endless verse after another, with nary a trace of a chorus, or discernible phrase. DUMB. Dave's performance is an unconvincing flurry of desperation, as he fails to convince us he does not need Eddie Van Halen. And now they are back together.
Kids, it's past midnight out here; do you know where your children are? I'm going to blast the debut. Or 1984. Or Women & Ch...
This video was shot in San Bernardino. Yeah I was there ! Back in 86. KCAL gave out free tickets.. They played only 2 songs about 6or7 times. They should have shown more of the audiiance. They had a camera that hung on a wire. It went straight out center stage and back......
Yes it was an awesome show! I know 'cause I was there in Houston up right in front of Mr VAI !

@jctii916 Ha! How about it! I think Dave kinda played that up to the hilt, still one of the best showmen out there.

Meanwhile VH was simultaneously getting way heavier with songs like "Get Up" and way smoother with stuff like "Love Walks In".
