I think the tempo and character are great. The acoustic makes the piano drown out the viola a but, though, which is a real shame.
I think the balance is not too bad, though the piano is very forward, but the acoustic is too resonant, and that doesn't serve the viola well. It is very fast, but then 'Lebhaft' means 'lively', so the speed is up to the performer, and this is certainly lively. It's enjoyable, but there's a lack a clarity througout.
Good playing but way too fast. It was hard to enjoy it at such a fast tempo. I think the tempo even changed the style a bit as if it were written in a later time period.
I see this piece slower. Around 116-120. I think 140 is just too fast. Very nice playing, very relax, very beauctiful to watch. Amazing right arm. Thanks for posting!
Nice playing but work on pulling the sound more in the lower register. Much of your playing is too over the fingerboard. A big viola like yours should really be heard easily over the piano but you have to pull the sound out.
Okay. The pianist is driving me crazy. I am about to scream if he keeps hammering away on a fff and keeps on covering the violist up in some sections. The thirds sound pretty well intune, but it is difficult to hear because the pianist insits on playing so freaking loud. TEMPO.. too fast. It is difficult to see where the violist is going with this. Lebhaft yes means fast, but this tempo is too fast. Pretty good overall performance.
That's just totally amazing. Before listening to this, I'd only heard Yuri Bashmet perform the Lebhaft, but... Olga definitely brings more feeling and sound to it in my opinion.

I wouldn not use the high positions on C string.
Violas are meant to be played rather in lower positions.
Very energic, just intonation instability at times. Very good violist!
PS. try to relax a little :)

theres no way violas are 'meant' to be played in that way. its personal taste, i prefer to play mine in higher postions, it sounds much better.

I think this tempo does change the feel, but I definite enjoy it. It gets the heart racing and the blood pumping!
