@TF2AWESOME no he has his whole body in the suit (sorry to jump in) you can hear about it near the end of the game i think it was gil alixander that said "you were so spliced up you couldent walk when we put you in that suit" your more of a splicer with the protective... gene tonic? that makes you protect your little sister (or in this case now. big sister) hope it helps

Bioshock took place in 1965 and bioshcock 2 started off at 1950 then you play in the year 1965 after you shoot yourself. Technically both bioshocks take place at the same time. Cool right?

Much like Atlas in the first one, the characters in all of the games use quite a few of terms from the 50's and 60's that some people might not be accustomed to. he is still human. unlike normal big daddy's, the alpha series were made without integrating the body with the suit, thats why he was able to take his helmet off in the beginning. his name was Johnny Topside before Andrew Ryan had him kidnapped and turned into a Big Daddy

Johnny was a nickname given to him by the people of Rapture when stumbled upon the place in a diving-bell suit. Andrew Ryan was paranoid and thought he was a spy so he imprisoned Delta, then in prison he was used in the early Big Daddy experiments. Delta was the first Daddy to form a working bond with a Little Sister. Later Big Daddies were organs grafted to the diving suits they wore, so they aren't human. Delta and the alpha series daddies were and are human.
