i liked this movie but disliked how everbody expected Janie to just give up her entire personality and take off her clothing and conform to being a "pretty girl" just cause zack and everybody else wanted her to. And im mad at her for going along with it but it was highschool so i guess the pressure was intense and she was so very young. I hate how everybody refuses to accept her the way she is and everybody harrasses her until she changes completely. And THEN its "happily ever after"...bullshit!

I have to disagree, Janie didn't change she just opened up. She was wrapped up with her family situation and trying to get into art school that she forgot about herself and her needs. When she gets the makeover she is happy. I think she wanted to take care of her appearance and social life she just lacked the funds, know-how and social graces. She cared what people thought of her for years because she says at the party that she promised herself that the popular kids would never see her cry.
