  • "the point penalty system is in effect" lol

srsly I think if we could afford it everyone would want to break a racquet every now and again

go fed! look at that racquet-breaking power!

  • I love the hypocrisy in the fans of this game. When your God stumbles it's okay but when anyone else does it then it's unsportsmanlike conduct. I'm not saying he shouldn't feel frustrated. Frustration and showing your frustration is part of the human condition and it's normal and healthy but I guaran-damn-tee if that was Murray or Djokovic throwing a fit the like and dislike bars would have to switch places. I hope you afford others the excuses you give for your favorite player.

  • The thing with this match was Djokovic was playing very poorly throughout. He lost the first set, but from the second set on Federer managed to play even poorer than Djokovic, who didnt have to raise his game at all because Federer was spraying his shots far and wide, specially with that forehand... eventually leading up to a total meltdown..Thats why the commentator said"Its been a long time coming"

  • Only Djokovic can make him do that! He is so threatened by Djokovic!!!

  • unsportsmanlike

  • stupid

  • DONT TRY THIS AT HOME OR SCHOOL

  • I think the racket deserved it...

  • Federer is even pro at breaking raquets. The way he raised his arm and rotated his upper body... amazing.

  • He's the GOAT at breaking racquets too

  • 1 shot one kill.

  • It would be funny if that was his last one in the bag...

  • @Rc1023 He must've been having really bad day, breaking rackets left and right, since pros tend to carry 5-6 on court every match, lol.

  • hahahahahahahahahaha wtf roger i lov uuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • C'est une honte M. Federer... Shame on you !

  • He even breaks a racquet like a champion <3

  • little baby he found his match

  • Shame because he actually had the best outfit on this tournament

  • Problem Roger? *Trollface*

  • AND TODAY ĐOKOVIĆ WON

  • Professionals should be able to do that. They have millions of dollars. :/

  • Hahahahaha that was awesome - can't believe those dickwhackers in Miami booed him!

  • man, I wish I had multiple rackets. break racket every loss point. lololol

  • The way i play i would have to get a new racket every 3 games

  • He has class, even when he breaks his racket!

  • Damn, my opinion of him just went down a little.

  • But he has amazing power. Some players are smashing more and more their rackets but roger needed only one time :D

  • whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy????so many rackets are suffering on this world

  • Wish my forehand was as good as the one Fed dumped into the net.

  • I'd be pissed 2 if I had the best forehand of all time and it kept letting me down in a big match.

  • marat safin would be proud :)

  • @George6o5 fail, nadal got smashed XD

  • he is human afterall......

  • ive never smashed a racquet because i cant afford to lol but can someone tell me how you smash it? Do you have to hold it until it hits the ground or do you release it in the air before it hits the ground?

  • @ElSpewtardo This tutorial from Fuzzy Yellow Balls offers comprehensive instruction on how to smash your tennis racket. /watch?v=hfPNROxLgss

(normally they do serious coaching tutorials, but this one is hilarious).

  • @ElSpewtardo You are supose to let it go at the last moment otherwise its gonna hurt your arm. Check at 0:45

  • Of course it was against Nole... xD

  • Why are they booing? Who's he hurting? If he holds his hand up to the opponent (as I would), what's the problem?:D

  • The only guy that makes Fed break the racket is named Novak. And he is just the best player of 2011!! I think Fed doesn't like him so much...I wonder why...

  • that was your destiny you miserable piece of shit ... how dare you make me play like a normal player

  • Federer breaking a racket is like an apocalyptic event happens once in a lifetime.

  • what year was this?

  • The Earth felt that.

  • fag fed fag fans

  • even smashes his racket like a pro.

  • federer is a genius, and the way how he breaks the racket, genius

  • Tennis is a frustrating sport sometimes.

  • Keep pressing 9 to see federer scared of his own power

  • his racket smash had perfect technique! So dont get mad at him...

  • @SiaWinsi lol i knw right

  • this racquet is now worth 10 thousends of $

  • Haha perfect, as usual with Roger :p

  • Comment removed

  • you can see how he turns away from the potentially up-bouncing racket 0:45 :D

  • 0.47 Gonzo would have been delighted with that, LMAO

  • Everyone will get frustrated sometime, even Federer.

  • How much does a player have to pay for breaking rackets?

  • his racket smash technique is perfect too. notice how as the racket approaches the ground he turns his back away from it, which shields himself from getting hit accidentally.

  • I understand Fed's reaction. He is a robot but his opponent who made him angry is an alien!

  • I'm more impressed by the damage he did in one swing.

  • hhahha king

  • racquet abuse

  • lol, I don't even know how it is possible to break a racquet and still look cool. -smh

  • dude he just folded it in half like a piece of paper

  • Honestly though.....he is the best at everything. This puts some of the great Safin's smashings to shame.

  • But there is something more behind the story, before the match Fedex said he know all Novaks shots and his tactic and he know how to eliminate him. At the end Fedex broke racket and Novak won.

  • Roger come on crush Djokovic like this in Miami. If you don't at least crush your racquet once again.

  • he needed to get that out of his system. Being fed you make every shot and he has such high standards.

  • So, Roger do not brake his raquet against Djokovic. Yeah, right...

  • It is a childish guy. wahaha

  • i like federer so much more after seeing this

  • hockey players break theyre sticks pro tenis players break theyre rackets its just frustration and it happens, cameras or no cameras, #1 in the world or week end player

  • Comment removed

  • i feel so bad for the racquet

  • haha Fed is Nole's new bitchboy

  • Haha haha- "Gonzo would be delighted with that."

  • Nice Quality.

  • great technique and great execution, certainly got the result he was after on that raquet....

  • He somehow still looks sexy...

  • not my favorite federer moment :(

  • The casual throw of his racket over to his to his bag!!

  • I think in that action there was a lot of anger and impotence contained throughout the past season and beginning of that one. fortunately shortly after, things would revert in his favor.

  • there is no great genius, without a touch of madness.

  • Esa acción lo único que demuestra es que Roger Federer es un ser humano como cualquiera. Además, que hasta los más grandes sufren de impotencia.

  • If you notice the crowd starts booing because of the air not the racket break, they're as pissed off as he was, they want beauty

  • A lot of pros need two or even three hits to break their racket, especially that weakling Andy Murray. But with Roger Federer - the maestro, just one swings and the racket definitely broken is.

  • roger good at everything

  • he broke it like a pro XD thumbs up if you think im right

  • funny thing this is the only video of federer breaking on... i mean before he became the number 1 and started to win grand slams he did it almost every time

  • there's no feeling like smashing a racket to vent your anger on the court!!!

  • roger is better than djokovic at breaking racquets!

  • I suppose if you´re that frustrated/angry on court, it´s probably better to get it out of your system, right then and there..

  • He was probably like How did i do that!

  • Roger broke a lot of raqcuets when he was younger, he sure knows how to do it!

  • gonzo would have been proud haha

  • Everyone gets frustrated---even the greatest player in history.

  • @gyrate4 u suck nadal never broke his racquet

  • Comment removed

  • @bikespeed1 Nadal picks his backside. A quieter, more disgusting way of venting frustration.

  • @bikespeed1 I agree

  • @gyrate4: doesn't mean you should smash your racket for no reason

  • @latent1234 I think you haven't played tennis to say that

  • @gyrate4 Djokovic didnt seem frustrated to me on this video! :D

  • @mitanche But Djokovic did break his racquet in the 2010 US Open final..

  • Good pronation on that racket break.

  • I'd like to see that at 600 frames per second.

  • oh god.. I cringed...that has to be an expensive racquet ._.

  • @krezazn 200.00 racquet, but he gets 10 or more a season from Wilson.

  • @gyrate4 lol, yeah I know..he probably gets paid to use those racquets.. but I think most people wouldn't go around smashing racquets like they're worth nothing >.<

  • @krezazn but there's no feeling like it when you do smash racket!

  • i swear like at 0:22 some guy was screaming "OH MY GOD!!!! the HUMANITY!!! OH MY GOD!!!" lol . really says something about roger if someone screams that when he breaks his racket.

  • @flagman57 HAHA omg youre so right haha

  • I bet that ball boy was like "I can't believe I'm holding Fed's Broken Raqcuet!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • Even if this is one the best racquet break, Safin is the true GOAT in racquet breaking .

  • He loves breaking racquets in Miami

  • and he didn't do this in us open this year against djokovic?????

    very strange

  • If this happened to Roger who is known as the calmest player ever in tennis god knows what would be the ohter players reaction in this case

It must have been an extremely difficult moment for Federer because it's not every day we get to see these kind of images from the genius

  • Nadal would never do that

  • @91ferni you'll see someday he will

  • Anyone know who ended up winning this match?

  • He broke that racquet like a true champion.

  • Yeah, F*ck the racquet

  • Hihi

  • NOLE! NOLE! NOLE!

  • The best part is how he picks up the racket. He has stile, even after destroying the racket.

  • how can you ppl boo him?!?! i know how it feels, sometimes i want to smash my racket... id cheer him on! DEMOLISH the racket!!

  • He is the best even in breaking the racquet

  • gonzo does it a million times to get that type of breakage. federer does it one go since the last time he did it in like 2002. talk about GOAT.

  • AMAZING

  • gosuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • wow

    that racket was destroyed

  • @tennisroks1234 Hah. joke should be his nick name.

  • Wow take it easy dude.

  • Yes,he is just a human, but how often are you wataching Federer doing something like that?

  • twas only one throw.

remember that Federer was not always cool as he his now.

when he was younger, he was a temper-mental tennis player.

and hes still the greatest tennis player of all time!!

  • wow thats worse then when serena broke hers!

  • Wow. and it wasn't even the game, set, or match! Just a point!

  • not right, many people can not afford that racket!!

  • lol and ofc against djokovic

  • Djokovic with coolface on: "Problem Roger?"

  • that wrist work and position of the racquet head before he swung downwards was so clean. that resulted in a typical crumpled racquet. and thus, surprisingly u dont need strength or anything huge physical workout to break a racquet. its just all bout the snap of the wrists and where u land the racquet and the position the racquet is when its above ur head before u swing downwards.

  • Yup, it´s definitely the racquet´s fault. He should sue Wilson.

  • OMG...PRO! that is raw strength right there

  • "gonzo would have been delighted with that" haha props

  • I THINK it pissed him off more because thats what he did on the point where he lost wimbledon 2008!!

  • Haha. I don't think that was really in his head at the time, but that's true, it's the exact same approach shot that he misses into about the exact same part of the net. And the ironic part is that on both points if he would have gone inside out, which is the more comfortable play for Federer, the court was far more open for him.

  • Roger is the classic greatest. love Rog

  • @federerbestclass You made the same comment already. Please use your brain a bit

  • he no 1 in breaking racquet too!

  • lol he must've practiced with marat safin

  • it's beautiful.

  • the irony, is that this is the best raquet brake ive ever seen roger is a truly number 1

  • yeh its pretty elegantly broken. he hardly made any effort in putting strength on that breakage either, it was all just quick wrist work, and the racquet was fucked hard, just like that.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @manolobeta11 Nobody beats any of Safin's!

  • ¿Es este el caballero de las pistas?

Me parece que ha engañado a muchos. La gente desconoce su caráter y su falta de educación de su etapa inicial.

Pero no se puede estar fingiendo mucho tiempo, al final todo sale a la luz.

Is he the gentlemen of courts?

Rafa has NEVER broken a raquet: I feel so proud of him.

RAfa: YOU are the best in ALL senses.

  • I'm shocked that he didn't break a racquet earlier today as he pissed away 3 match points to Baghdatis who eventually won after converting on his only match point(get the hint Federer?) at Indian Wells.

  • Does anyone know where I can watch the whole match?

  • This was gonna be the begining of the end for Federer, but then Nadal got injuried...

  • @Guillermin85

i think you mean but then federer smashed nadal in madrid and went on to re-write history.....AGAIN!!

  • Nadal was already exhausted in Madrid, he went there just because he didn't want the Spanish crowd (us) to get upset, totally out of a sense of obligation, but he shouldn't have gone... It was the begining of his end (though I believe he'll be back in top) but, unlike Federer, it was caused by physical factors...

  • these "physical factors" have been brought on by himself. do you think nadal would have achieved half of what he has done if he didnt play the way he does and destroy his body??

  • Does that contradict what I'm saying?I'm saying that last Federer's achievements are inseparable from the fact that Nadal's body got collapsed:Breaking Sampras' record of GS titles, RG, 6th Wimbledon...Those titles are distort.

    A consequence of Nadal's way to play?Sure.

A huge bad luck for Nadal because of the moment when the physical breakdown came?Sure, too.Federer was about to disappear and I'm sure that, at that time,he would have signed on to win maybe one more GS title(of course not RG).

  • ... A combination of an enormous good luck and a really good season planning during all his career, actually.

    Sorry for my English

  • granted nadals physical condition helped federer win wimbledon 2009 but at RG nadal simply got a beatdown from soderling, no excuses at all.

and we could say the same in reverse for 2008: federer had mono and didnt recover quickly, he wasnt playing his best tennis etc. which is why nadal owned him at RG and beat him at wimbledon.

  • You perfectly know that is not true... Federer got over his mono quickly, he was at his best in 2008... It was just Nadal reaching a higher level, you just have to check Wimbledon final. Federer was AT HIS BEST, and so Nadal.

Are you serious with the Soderling comment? You're very naive if you really believe that Soderling could win a single set against a "regular" Nadal on clay...

  • so federer at his best loses to djokovic in straight sets and then picks up 4 games and a bagel against rafa??? you know this is not true!!!

and why is it so hard to accept that soderling beat rafa fairly? he played amazing tennis and rafa couldnt cope with his big groundstrokes - i guess rafa was also injured when delpo destroyed him 2/2/2 at US haha.

  • @forder07

Definitely youre very naïve with the Soderling & clay issue If you need any proof of the impossibility of beating (a regular, or if you prefer, top) Nadal on clay, you just gotta have a view over the Federer vs Nadal history in RG Its simply crazy to think that Soderling can do what Federer had never been near to do And a proof of this is the Soderling vs Federer final

  • @forder07

And regarding the Djokovic-Federer match, that was in AO, at the very beginning of the season, Federer wasnt at his top at that time. And again, yes, Nadal wasnt at his top agains Del Potro, he has been very far away from his top since Madrid. So, summarizing, maybe you could manage to realize of the superiority reached by Nadal if you watch again the AO 2009 ceremony trophy

  • @Guillermin85

AO 2009 no complaints, rafa beat roger (the 5th set was really poor from federer) but still a fair and deserved win for rafa.

i just find it a little suspect that the 2 players who have embarassed nadal (soderling & delpo) are very similar AND that in both beatdowns nadal was injured or "not at his best"??? the fact is he just cant bully those players with his high bouncing, spin-loaded shots like he can with federer because they are much taller.
