ive done this before its not a preset effect called echo. you use animated masks on a still image to do it.

@PodiumPictures Do you need to cut out the object out of each frame in order to layer it? or is there a program that will take the object you want and cut that object through out the whole clip?

Im guessing you would layer the clips on top of eachother once you got the object (skater) by itself, then start it like a half a second after the main layer, but wouldnt you have to move the frame if the camera was in motion too?

Im confused, im just trying to learn how to do this on final cut pro.
