  • Moron Reagan took them down.

  • Wow Jimmy Carter indeed was a visionary. Reagan is an anti-progessive asshole.

  • Estoy Feliz que este proyecto llegue a mi país mañana en el Festival de Cinemaplaneta. Hace falta que la gente se entere de estos problemas que no nos permiten evolucionar hacia mejores alternativas de vida.

  • The sad truth of solar isn't that we can't make it work, it's just that we can't afford to make it work. Think of how much tax revenue is generated through the sale of oil products/services. It's ENORMOUS and without it, the US Government would not be able to sustain its current spending.

Buy a solar panel and pay sales tax once, or go with coal/oil electricity and pay a sales tax every month ... for 25 years!

  • This documentary should be on YouTube!!! What a sad state of affairs we're in now.

  • Who cares what he put on top of the White House.GW was the one that made the White House "green" Ask him why he hasnt met a dictator or Hamas leader he didnt want to jump in bed with. Also find out why all his aides quit during the writing of his anti-semetic book in protest.

  • @devno9904 sounds suspiciously partisan

  • Read "The SUn Betrayed" for an eye opening view of what went down in Washington...Names and all

  • Dude, Can you let people know when this Documentary is complete!!! My grandfather used to work for Carter and it would be cool to see the rest of this!!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

  • the film is finished and is going to be shown in some swiss cinemas in june. we're still waiting for invitations for us film festivals and are working on the dvd release. we hope to make it available in late summer, fall. keep a look on our website. there is a newsletter. or find us on facebook. greetings to your grandfather from zurich.

    roman and christina

  • A ROAD NOT TAKEN is now available on our website.

  • where is gordon??

  • Install solar panels on the White House. Lead by example.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that starts at 2:10?

  • dear toteranruf

the song at 2:10 is composed and performed by mathias vetter especialy for this movie. so far, it will not be available seperatly. you might want to check out his band SCHNITZER. they just released their first album.

    greetings, roman

  • dear namorrellek

thank you for your reply. I'll definitely check out the band.

I'm waiting anxiously for this documentary. I'm sure that it's going to be a huge success here in the US.

  • Look for 'Schnitzer' and 'Zukunft' in YouTube for a live cut..

  • Future generations will laugh at the "idiots" who dug wells for oil, transported thousands of miles, refined, then sold to other idiots for energy.

"You can't control the people unless you control their energy source."

Not to mention, lives lost in coal mines.

These greedy bastards will answer to God.

    J

  • god bless Pres. Carter for trying...i had no idea that solar tech started back then....reagans a jerk ) :

  • @13Umbrellas I agree with you!!! Throw a peanut at a movie screen!!!LOL

  • @13Umbrellas Reagan was also a monster that took part in the Contra wars, backed Osama Bin Laden, and worked hard to lower the wages and working conditions of Americans. For this the Republicans put his body on the Lincoln pedestal when he died.

In modern times, only George HW Bush exceeded him in millions killed, though GWB may have come close.

  • Is this documentary done? On the project's website it says it is a "work in progress", but I read elsewhere that it was shown at a film festival last July. What's up, and were will we be able to see this film? Thanks!

  • dear shiftlock3

we are still working on the movie. it looks like we will be ready to submit it to festivals in january. stay tuned, roman.

  • Ronald Reagan: The second worst president in history (after GW Bush).

  • Carter is the man, awesome guy.

  • OMG, you are a total moron. Read up and get a clue (and a life!)

  • You are either a troll, just trying to get a rise out of people, or the absolute most ignorant person in the world. I heard the "global warming hoax" argument from 5 or 6 years ago from people I know \who invest heavily in oil-related stocks, but even they have changed their minds based on the current data. I agree that Gore didn't do anything revolutionary. Anybody who can read and interpret simple scientific data could understand that we are at a doomsday crossroads. Get current.

  • @TxTeaParty Sorta how the Tea Party and Republicans have been trying to rehab Bush's image! They even hired a guy to do just that after he left the White House.

  • I hope President Obama's initiatives will not be shot down by the energy comanies and their slaves in our congress. I applaud the Unity Coleges program. When I taught at a small college, I taught a course in Global Sustainabiliy. My students did energy and resource audits and showed tha the college may save about $500,000 a year. But the administration did not believe it and shelved the students recommendations. The same thing happened with a large denomination where I served in the 1990s..

  • just the irony of Carters words in the opening here, and a few photos, could be the whole (compacted) story. I still can't believe Reagon's funeral and America's short memory

  • Carter pushed against the system & the system pushed back. "The Sleeping Lion" Reagan laughed at Carter & removed those *dumb solar whatcha- ma-call-it's* & all his conscripted conservative commentators laughed at Don Quixote Carter tilting @solar windmills. Does it mean anything that Exxon unofficially concedes that Climate Change is real as well as man made? No, it doesn't b/c that was established as fact back in the seventies. Now that Bush is leaving Exxon doesn't have to cover for him.
  • Important history for 2009, as another president struggles to go down that same road--this time more urgently.

It's okay to preach to the choir, but a longish, slowish, meandering documentary will not appeal to the most important viewers: teens and twenty-somethings who need to know what some people in previous generations attempted.

Please edit it for these people, who are very used to exciting, fast-paced visuals. It's just a fact, right or wrong, that you'll lose them if it appears boring.
