you've got some nice shots in there! i've been working with magic lantern for a couple of months now and am very pleased. do you also work with the picture style called "cinestyle" ? if you look it up, you'll read the advantages :) by applying a LUT table ( colour table ) in post production you'll have great colouring
magic lantern is firmware that you can download onto your camera's sd card, 5D, 550D, 60D's (i think) etc, you then using the memory card update the firmware.
Magic Lantern has the ability to control ACG (Automatic Gain Control) monitor audio levels amongst other things, but it's main feature for video users is the q scale range.
Being able to change the q scale using magic lantern on your camera means that you can alter the mbps transfer of footage being recorded, q-16 is the best quality.
Very impressive video. Let me see if I understand Qscales, the higher the (-) number, the higher quality video the camera can record, But it also requires a higher quality SD card to keep up with the writing to the card? And with that I'll assume you were using a class 6 or more likely a class 10 SD card?
Ive i do my qscale on -16 it stops after 3 seconds film? how to let it work?

Just curious, but why would you lower the frame rate? Is it for standard fps purposes?

If you are recording 720p video, the fps rate should be 30 by default, no need of any modification nor any magic lantern thing...
500D records 1080p@20fps & 720p@30 fps

What is Magic Lantern? I have 500D and same lens, but your video look like a MUCH better camera! Nice vid!

so you can film 24p directly with your 500D?
Battlecry45 11 months ago
@Battlecry45 nope, not yet but ML developers is currently working on it... :) I do the conversion via NLE.
TheBjacklee 11 months ago
@TheBjacklee in which NLE is?:)

@bbhajnalka Edius 6. :)
TheBjacklee 2 weeks ago
@Battlecry45 Uhm... yes you can. At least nowadays. The original 550D firmware isn´t actually altered. So you can just choose 1080P 24p in camera.
