  • Well done, Ben! I really enjoyed your show. Just one point: The bridge you called London Bridge is actually Tower Bridge! The real London Bridge, opened in 1831, was taken down in 1968 and was sold to an American. It was rebuilt at Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1971. There is a story that he made the same mistake as you - he thought he was buying Tower Bridge!

  • Ahh... I knew that. 0_0

  • SICK, that would have been so fun, good job at editing too!!!! =)

  • Thanks :)

    And it was fun :)

  • awsome!

  • Wow, cool video ;)

  • hey, ben,u always have awesome vids and cool music, wow!u were so luckey u went to london

  • UPDATE: It is now 1am on Monday morning and I narrowed my possible 500 France pics down to around 80. That includes editing every single one, adding tints and better coloring, cropping, etc.

Expect the France video out within the next couple days.

  • Ben, Great video! I work with your Dad and he told me about your vacation but your video gave me a much better idea of all of the exciting things you did. Again, nice job! I look forward to the next video!

  • I've always wanted to go to London and this video really gave me a taste for what London might be like! I particularly liked the Merchant of Venice and the Mime show shots Also interesting to me were some of the architecture of the city, particularly the bridges. You have a good eye with the camera. Thank you for sharing your travel experiences. Where did you learn to post UTube videos?

  • Well, nowadays people self-teach themselves just about anything they deem useful.

  • Bravo! So much livelier than bland commentary, "And this is ..."

You sure hit some great places. I hope you have many more chances to see the world.

Looking forward to the next installment. What talent you have.

  • Dude, this rocks!!! Great job editing. Love the choice of music and photos. Will show this to my son. He's been begging for a Youtube account. (Oh boy. Now he'll want one for sure). He plays Runescape, too...

    You've got talent, redalert!

  • A cinematic tour de force! (tour de London?)

    Econo

  • Excellent!

  • Hey Ben, great job on your first video.

  • Ben, nice. I really enjoyed this. The flow of pictures along with the music gives it a great energy. I've never done anything like this... did it take a long time? btw. glad you had a great time. -)

    Looking forward to France.

  • Took about 8 hours. ;)

    And thanks.

  • It's great to see Hankes in London! Some of the sights you filmed I haven't seen in a good many years, so it was fun to see them again. I wish I knew how to take, edit and upload a video. Glad you do. Next time you are in Bethesda you can give me some tips. Love, AJ (Now who could that be?)

  • Yes, who could that be? o_O

  • Wait... does AJ stand for Aunt Jody? Joanne being long for Jody? And your profile says you're 67, which I think Aunt Jody is...? Are you? Knowing who the heck the Hanke's are etc etc? Err, am I correct? o_O

  • Very good tour sequences. I feel as if I was watching with you.

Take a look at photo journalism and you'll notice that it very often includes peoples reactions to what is being watched. Can you show us how your family felt when greeting your Dad? The Japanese meal was an interesting shot - show us how you liked the food. Were you interested or bored by the churches. Great shots of Misty Days in August - was it a bummer for the family?

Can't wait to see France through your camera.

  • Thanks. :) What do you really mean though? By adding subtitles or something talking about that sort of thing? Or by adding commentary? Because I don't have a microphone on this computer.

  • Subtitles would work and might be interesting. it could be an interaction like harmony and melody in music.

Commentary would be fun, especially if you developed characterizations (my brother is grump, my mother is a romantic, etc..)It could be an interaction like harmony and melody in music.

Another idea is to capture the reactions in the picture. Of course, that requires a lot of planning (and good luck) when you are taking the pictures.

  • Great job on the video editing, Ben! Dynamic music, too--where did you find it? I gave the video four stars, because there is always room for improvement. I have to say that because I'm your Dad. :-) Love, Dad

  • Thanks Dad =)

  • Awesome video! Nice shot of me there. :)

I know how much work you spent on this! Grats!!!!
