  • Lol 7.62 *boom boom boom*. Pulls out a 9mm *pit pit pit* :D

  • @baltzellb, Thanks for checking out this silly video. The pistol in question was my first 1911 ever purchased with a rail....with that said, you can see some difficulty stuffing it back into a level I holster. All in all, the Kimber TLE/RL has been a very good operating pistol.

The Socom 16 has very little to no recoil. I have even heard of reports of negative recoil due to the muzzle design. As you can see, there is very little to no muzzle rise in my video. Happy Holidays

  • what pistol you pullin? looks like a sig, but I cant really tell. thats a nice rifle i'm thinking about geting one. hows the recoil on it?

  • @VulcanMarine

Thanks for your comments. I am using a "The Wilderness" Giles 3 point sling. It works very well for me for both transitioning and moving around. One thing I do not like about single point slings for me is that the big black broom stick I call a gun, dangles dangerously south donging my knees like a bell. For a small smg it would work well. ( I don't own any) One bad thing about the 3 point is that it is difficult if not impossible to transition to the week side while slung.

  • What kind of sling are you using? I have an M14 and I find that if I use a 1 point sling with it, it ends up hanging with the barrel reaching my knees even though I'm 6'. The sling you're using seems very effective as the rifle was hanging at a slant and to the side, so it doesn't hang as low. Also, would it be possible with a 2 or 3 point to transition to a pistol and move around while letting the rifle hang?

  • Also let me add I don't own a real M14, I'm just an airsofter. I sure admire someone who can shoot the real thing the way you can, though.

  • i hope you pushed that on safe before side slinging it

  • this transition was, at best...meh.

  • Interesting comment.....coming from a guy who trusts his life with a Taurus, 9mm no less. Did you really buy a gun which may or may not "jam" if you don't clean out the factory lube? I love that you shoot 45 ACP bulk Wolf ammo. What better way to lacquer your chamber. Have you ever heard of catastrophic failure?

  • LOL, did i hurt your pride...practice and come back n talk to me...what I shoot and how I shoot are 2 different things.

  • Pride still intact. I have viewed your videos, and haven't seen any multi gun work. I am curious on what you propose as a good transition. I have seen your multiple grips for pistol work. I like how you have to regrip your pistol EVERYTIME after recoil. That is awesome.

  • hitting a target at 45 yards w/ a double action 45 is a little different than a 21 foot engagement w/ a rifle. If you honestly think I have to regrip EVERYTIME when in a CQB situation, you are sadly mistaken...anyways stay frosty and keep shooting. When it comes down to it, we are both Americans that love to shoot. Later.

  • You are absolutely right. I appreciate the critique.

  • shotgun inside a building in all cases for me, with a sidearm in .45 as a backup. that said, the moment the exit the building I would prefer a SOCOM.

  • i dont really seem to understand this rifle design for a couple reasons maybe soemone can help. the short barrel is supposed to help for compactness and urban combat but why have such a large stock on it? also why not have the stock come straight back like an m16 so the recoil accuracy is improved? is it because its more powerful? my only similar basis for comparison has been shooting my dads 30.06 and 30.30 but ive ben told the straight design decreases upward recoil...

  • The muzzle brake on the rifle makes it shoot with virtually no upkick. great shooter, love it. The muzzle brake overcomes the old style stock issue perfectly.

This rifle is the navy seal version.

  • Unlike the M16 you don't spit out rounds with this beauty. U aim u shoot u kill. Therefore recoil is not that big of an issue. Besides, the muzzle brake is already effective.

    M14 over M16 anyday!

  • The M16 can have a straight-line stock because the sights are on elevated mounts. It would be easy enough to mount a tall front sight on an M14, but the rear sight, and probably the receiver, would have to be completely redesigned.

  • Alright...it's 4 A.M. and someone breaks in, you just grab a gun and a flash light. There isn't a whole lot of time to put on proper eye and ear protection. Plus...you want to be able to hear someone creeping around your house.

  • Good point, although it would be nice to be ultra prepared like that. 8 ) The Peltors would amplify all future dead sounds. I once tried to sneak a fart in an indoor shooting school. (forgot everyone was using electronic ears) Pretty funny.

  • What you think about the M1A Socom 16? For like home defence or what not.

  • The Socom 16 has its place in the CQB world. Although, I am not sure if it would replace my Rem. 870. I use 12 ga. heavy shot for indoors. Last thing you want to do is penatrate interior walls. And if you do want to go through a door or walls, use a 1oz slug on the ol' side saddle.

  • I was thinking bout using those Blue Safety Slug rounds from GLASER I believe is how its spelled. Seen those rounds? they fragment inside the skin and the bullet turns into sharp pellets, does prity good terminal dammage but no over penatration.

  • Not a good man stopper though, it creates a nasty shallow wound.

Plus you'll be pretty deaf from the muzzle break on the SOCOM 16, for me I use my 870 with #1 buck except the last three rounds are 00 buck. Either that or I go for my 1911 loaded with 230gr gold dots.

  • a slug will go through doors and walls

  • What sling setup is that?

  • 2 years later......That is a Wilderness Giles sling. It works as a standard or african carry rifle sling or as a front "sol" position. I love this sling other than the fact that you can not switch to weak side.
