Sorry there is no name to this tune. It is an original track created specifically for this commercial and the band name is fictional up as well.

Liars. 50mpg is some made up marketing number. Ford said themselves last year that it would be at least 3 years before they could make a 50mpg car. They also tried building an all aluminum focus and managed to get 50mpg. Looking up the real fuel economy numbers yields a 24/35mpg rating. Sure most other companies are stretching the truth as well but it seems kind of ridiculous when no one shares the same standard on posting fuel economy numbers. It makes having them at all kind of redundant.

jdsony, I understand your reluctance to believe the fuel ratings posted by automakers but it is illegal for them to post false ratings. All fuel ratings are approved and tested by Transport Canada and I have updated the info on in the top right of this posting with a direct URL to the government website that states fuel consumption by manufacturer and vehicle line.

Also, the fuel ratings you found are the US ratings and the gallon in the US is a different size gallon than in Canada. Canada's gallon is the imperial gallon and is greater in volume than the US gallon. Check it out on wikipedia.

There is no band called the Happy Maniacs. Its a fake band name with an original song written for this commercial by RMW Music in Toronto.

the "sync" part of this commercial reminds me of this joke.. where the punchline is.. the guys driving his new ford focus.. when all of a sudden these kids run into the road.. The guy breaks hard and screams.. "Fking Kids!" .. the radio immediately starts to play Michael Jackson...
