@Mediaclicks I use Ableton because it has a very straightforward interface and is capable of everything I would ever imagine doing. It also does video editing in-program with the audio track attached, so I don't need to recut a video track after making an audio track - its all done at once. I started out with FL Studio. FL is a more basic program - a bit easier to learn and a great start for music creation (especially beat-creation), but I'd definitely go with Ableton for long-term use.

Imageline is adding a new plugin called Pitcher to next version of fl studio (9.6) which sounds pretty interesting. I am yet to try the beta but they have some previews on their youtube channel, user: imageline. Pitcher is also featured in their preview video of 9.6.
