This movie seems to be suffering from The Room disease. People cannot seem to decide if it is the greatest black comedy ever, or the worst movie of all time.

It is the general danger of making a movie intentionally cheesy, very rarely does it work. Self parodies like The Princess Bride, Spinal Tap, and Monty Python's Holy Grail are classics for a reason, doing what they did is really hard.

I think the spin of a beloved franchise should not have been a spoof but more respectful.
