Overall I like both. I had a very good cat, and I had a very mean cat, but I had two very good dogs, and one dog that was hit or miss. IDK, I voted dogs, they have a slight edge over cats, if trained, they go to the bathroom outside, if trained, cats use a litter box, I remember times when our house would smell like kitty litter, both animals shed, but both are loyal to their owners 90% of the time.

Both are special in their own way. We dont judge by what they do, people might think dogs are better because they can do more tricks, in a way cats could also do tricks. People can say cats are better because they dont dig holes and ruin your backyard, in a way dogs could protect your house.

@KittyBoy258 Actually, some of the things, like dogs tearing up your furniture, digging holes, and being destructive are not at all true in a well trained, excersiced dog. Cats can also do most tricks dogs can do, it just takes them longer to learn, and they don't always sharpen their claws on furniture, etc. They can equal out in anyway really, just depends on the animal.

In my honest opinion, dogs are annoying, and I've had bad experiences with them. :/

Dalmatian ate my hamster one time, tried to kill our chinchillas, my step mother treats her dogs better than me (not joking), our neighbor had 14 imbred dogs because he wouldn't get them fixed, ect.

I still do like SOME dogs.

But in general I prefer cats. They're cute, smart, I can relax with them, they're sometimes very sweet, and they don't need attention 24/7.
